Saseka Tented Camp

This review could never capture all of the amazing things to say about Saseka. The property is straight out of a magazine. The main lodge is open air and decorated beautifully. It made us feel like we were still connected to the bush, but living comfortably. Our tent was the perfect size with beautiful decor as well. We loved having a view of the riverbed and had some antelope and monkeys visit throughout our stay. The food was incredible. The staff fed us like royalty and everything was delicious. The staff really made our experience at Saseka. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Our butler, Abee, was the best. We just loved hanging out with him. Our guide, Josia, and our tracker, Antony, gave us game drives that we'll remember forever! We had too many fabulous animal encounters to name and even saw the Big 5 in one drive. Saseka also plans fun experiences for the guests throughout their stay, like a barbeque on the riverbed. We were so sad to leave this place for so many reasons.

It’s hard to find enough superlatives to describe our recent family holiday at Saseka. We’ve been to many private game lodges over the years but this was incredible. We will never forget Saseka, the location on the river bed, the tented accommodation, the meals (especially lunch) and the extraordinary service from all the staff. A special thanks to our butler Bongani, who anticipated our every need. Our game drives with Moses and Grant were extraordinary. We had so many special sightings and Grant’s knowledge was truly next level. We had a lot of laughs with him too. We were also blessed with our daughter’s surprise engagement and the staff was very helpful. Our heartfelt thanks Thornybush. We’d love to come back to Saseka one day.

An amazing place! The reserve is of course the star of the show, but the resort and more importantly, the staff, are stars as well. The staff works hard to make sure your every wish and desire is met before you even ask. We had vegetarians, pescatarians and meat eaters with us and the food was perfectly matched to each person. The staff could not have been more gracious and sweet and I would recommend the resort to anyone going to South Africa

We had the most incredible stay at Saseka. This was our first safari experience and I wouldn’t change a thing. Our guide (Joe) and tracker (Abed) were extremely knowledgeable, kind and provided an unforgettable experience. The hospitality from the moment we arrived to the when we left was so thoughtful and genuine. The food was also great and the chef was very accommodating to dietary restrictions. Perfect destination for a family trip. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful tented camp (tent doesn’t seem to do it justice). Situated in the Thornybush Game Reserve that is continuous with Kruger National Park. The animals are free to roam from all properties. The amenities were incredible, the food delicious and the staff absolutely wonderful. 2 game drives a day saw Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Giraffes, Cape buffalo, wildebeest, impalas, warthogs, and so many others. Saseka Tented Camp delivered an unforgettable safari experience in the heart of Thornybush. From the moment we arrived, the team—led by the outstanding Sanof—created a warm, welcoming atmosphere and anticipated every need with phenomenal, personalized service. Meals were a highlight: breakfast, lunch, and dinner felt expansive and inventive, with fresh menus rotating daily to keep things exciting and delicious. The real magic happened on the morning and afternoon game drives with guide Joe and tracker Abed. These experts know the bush inside out, delivering breathtaking sightings we’ll never forget—from lions scrambling up a tree to steal a leopard’s kill, to tracking a wild dog pack as they hunted impala. The Big 5 (and much more) felt almost guaranteed. An amazing, bucket-list adventure. We can’t wait to return!

I've never expected a safari would be or feel so luxurious... the tent was 5 stars. Has everything and more for a comfortable stay in the desert. Everything was included. 2 rides per day... Food look great but only tasted ok. Our guide was good but could be friendly, better sense of humour. Would love to go again....

We recently stayed at Saseka Tented Camp for 3 nights, with the whole experience, simply wonderful. From the accommodation, surroundings, friendly service and the game driving, there are just not enough superlatives to describe our awesome experience. We would definitely stay again.
