My partner and I are huge Italian fans and honestly this was the BEST pasta and pizza we have ever eaten. We had the prawn pizza and marinara pasta - it was so incredibly tasty, full of flavour and full of seafood and prawns. Everything tasted so fresh and the prawns on the pizza were so big. Service was great, the staff were so lovely and accomodating. We didn’t have a booking and I had noticed there were no bookings available when I came across them online but risked walking in as soon as they opened and we were lucky enough to get a table. We’re just visiting Yamba for a few days - we’ll definitely be back next time we’re here! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Enjoyed three pizzas here, the prawn pizza was the standout, the potato was interesting and the chicken was good. We also shared a halloumi salad, which rounded out the meal nicely.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The customer service was outstanding — the staff were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. The food was next-level — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Every dish came out fresh and perfectly cooked. You can tell a lot of love and effort goes into their menu. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Amazing food, incredible service and a great atmosphere! We absolutely loved the Fettuccine Australias, Chefs Selection Salad and the Chilli Prawn Pizza! 🍕

Food is great very flavoursome and looks great but....only thing I can fault is pasta size to price point $36 for marinara or al pesce with minimal seafood and a small hand full of pasta is a bit steep, add some calamari and few more fish cubes and another handful of pasta and your on point. Pizzas were amazing and great value! Will dine here again soon.

Just to let you know I never post. As I always let the staff know in person if I am happy or unhappy with the food or service. Tonight we had a booking for 7.30. Due to unforeseen circumstances we were running late. I called the restaurant at 8pm to check if it was too late for our booking. The girl checked and said it was okay the kitchen closes at 8.30. We arrived at 8.15. At the same time i received an email to say my credit card had been charged a fee. I stood at the counter waiting for several minutes for someone to serve me to be told that we could only order takeaway (you agreed to our policy was yelled across the restaurant) Yes this is true but apparently I only spoke to the 15year old on the phone who knew nothing?? Why let her answer the phone. I was treated no better than the dirt under your feet. No respect whatsoever. We have been coming to Sassafras in Yamba for the last 12 years at least 2-3 times every holiday. I understand holiday season is a stressful time and rules are in place but if you a in the hospitality business you should treat your customers with respect. I won’t be going back.

We were a walk in and ended up seated outside, which was great except it began raining. The pastas and pizza were nice. The drinks were tasty. We also took some pizzas home for family members at home.
