Sassafras Yamba

My partner and I are huge Italian fans and honestly this was the BEST pasta and pizza we have ever eaten. We had the prawn pizza and marinara pasta - it was so incredibly tasty, full of flavour and full of seafood and prawns. Everything tasted so fresh and the prawns on the pizza were so big. Service was great, the staff were so lovely and accomodating. We didn’t have a booking and I had noticed there were no bookings available when I came across them online but risked walking in as soon as they opened and we were lucky enough to get a table. We’re just visiting Yamba for a few days - we’ll definitely be back next time we’re here! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The customer service was outstanding — the staff were so friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. You can really tell they take pride in what they do. The food was next-level — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and honestly some of the best I’ve had in a long time. Every dish came out fresh and perfectly cooked. You can tell a lot of love and effort goes into their menu. Highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates great food and exceptional service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Away for our annual holiday in Yamba for family Christmas party. Was looking around to see what restaurants were busy, so we could tell which one was good. Sassafras was brimming and you could sense the atmosphere. We booked for the Friday and was delighted by everything, food, service and price. We both had pizzas, wife had Yamba prawn and I had supreme and we shared the rocket salad. It was fantastic. So much so that we booked again on Sunday. Small pizza enough for 1 medium was ok for 2 but I ate it for myself as it was so good.

We booked a table, 8pm was the only time left available. It was very busy. We were able to sit inside upon request. We had to wait a bit to have our order taken because it was so busy. We ordered drinks and a mini pizza for starters. The pizza was a bit over cooked and hard. We waited for staff to come back to us...we wanted to order a pasta dish, but the kitchen had closed before we had ordered our mains. Luckily the staff asked the kitchen if they could do 1 more meal and they agreed. We shared a plate of pesto penne, it was very good🍀 Next time, order early🥴

Stoked with everything we ordered. The gluten free pizza base was great, comes in one size that’s roughly a medium-large. Can’t recommend enough.

A hidden gem! Wow are we glad a friend recommended this place on our travels to Yamba. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is fantastic. A beautifully decorated airy restaurant with a great relaxed vibe. We devoured the baked Camembert for starters and all loved our main meals, highly recommend the seafood spaghetti and the pasta Australias. The kids raved about the kids bolagnese pasta & pepperoni pizza and the cocktails were absolutely spot on too!! Everything beautifully presented, even down to the micro herbs and flowers adding an extra special touch. You can tell all the food is made with love & care. Couldn’t fault a thing. Stevie & all the staff were so welcoming making the overall experience a 10/10. We will definitely be back next time we are in Yamba! Do yourself a favour and add this to your list of places to go!

We are locals and we’ve been eating here weekly for years now! The service is always so amazing, the best staff in town. The food is excellent with a variety of salads, pizza’s, pastas and specials! There’s something for everyone here. The kind owners and staff even helped us out with our wedding as the weather in the cyclone messed up all our plans. WE LOVE SASSAFRAS 🩷🩷🩷🩷
