Sate & Gule Kambing 29 is undoubtedly one of the best restaurants in Semarang, especially if you’re craving sate buntel. This place is a legendary culinary gem in the city, and it never disappoints. Their sate buntel (minced meat satay) is incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. It’s best enjoyed with a drizzle of sweet soy sauce and a side of steaming hot rice—a combination that’s simply irresistible. For the soup, we ordered sop olor, which was equally impressive. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the olor (goat meat) was soft and tender, making every spoonful a delight. Every time we visit Semarang, we make it a point to dine at Sate & Gule Kambing 29. The consistent quality of the food, the rich flavors, and the satisfying portions keep us coming back for more. If you’re in Semarang, this restaurant is a must-visit for an authentic and unforgettable culinary experience. Highly recommended!

I ate at this restaurant based on my local driver’s recommendation. I think the food is just ok. Nothing special about the taste. Very heavy on the soy sauce flavor in my opinion. The satay was just doused in soy sauce. I could barely taste the meat. Less soy sauce and more spices would have made the satay better. It is also very pricey for what you actually get. The restaurant was hot too. They need to install better fans or a/c. I was sweating the whole time there. Dinner for me was not enjoyable. There are way better places for this prices range.

This is my second time here. Never get enough of this. If you are into kambing tulang (stewed lamb ribs), this is the ultimate store. Not forgetting the charcoal grilled lamb intestines and their mortar made chili condiments; the match is extremely heavenly. Do not, never, ever miss this stall when you travel to Semarang.

One of the most famous culinary in Semarang, the location is in Kota Lama area. At first, I really excited to try this cuisine but later dissapointed enough. I ordered Sop Kaki and Lamb Skewer/Satay, and it failed. Lamb or muton dishes are my favourite food, however this one is not that taste as people review or rating, it is below my expectation. Furthermore, it is also very pricy. At least you can enjoy the atmosphere of old and authentic building in this restaurant.

When I tried to go to jkt from sby with car I always stop here … when i was in korea i’ve never had chance to eat kambing but i started to like kamping since I came in indonesia.. this place was the first time to eat kambing in my life… it was really soft, chewy.. A but oily because of fat.. It makes meat is more soft I can tell. I was worried to eat Gule kambing and kambing campur but it was also delicious so I wanna highly recommend this place.. If you wanna try to eat kambing then visit this reataurant and order gule kambing too not only sate. place looks really authentic and historical.

I visited during Ramadhan and Pandemi time, so the place was quite empty. But this satay house is very recommended for people who want to enjoy Semarang Old Town with authentic experiences. Since their famous satay is lamb meat, not many people can enjoy it. The price is not cheap nor expensive, and the taste comes accordingly, just average. But the vibes as an old town culinary worth the visit. Moreover, the scenery around the restaurant is beautiful, family and tourists can definitely enjoy.

Sate Buntel Taste Great. Filled with meat. Not too spicy not too sweet. But Solo's version of Sate Buntel is far more delicious. Gule Kambing is Really Good. But i think they put too much pepper in it. The price is already adjusted for tourists. Not cheap. Overall, the price is not worth the taste. Not to mention that the restaurant has a poor air circulation also.

To our surprise really poor food, and even pricy. Mow quality meat. I did not expect such poor food in one of the best places in the old town (just opposite the church). Cannot recommend to anyone
