In the Faroe Islands, Nature Rewards Patience | Condé Nast Traveler

"On Eysturoy we were drawn to a floating sauna—a tiny black hut on a dock—where we watched rain dimple the freezing sea outside while overheating in steam and cedar, and watched children rowing past in a traditional Faroese rowboat." - Callie Radke Stevens

We went to Saunadypp a few days ago & booked our Drop In-Session on their website which was pretty straight forward and easy. First we thought we needed to check in somewhere upon arrival but that’s not the case. You can just leave your stuff when entering the sauna house & go straight in. Remember to bring two towels: one for sitting on and one for bathing in the ocean. The views from the sauna cabin are really nice.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a good experience at Saunadypp. It felt cramped in this little sauna with 11 people in total. Also, people didn't care (or know?) about common behavior in a sauna. Many of the other guests didn't use towels to sit on, spilled water from plastic bottles over their feet and legs inside the sauna and it's been VERY chatty throughout our session. When a group started to rub coffee ground on their bodies - first outdoors, then inside the dressing room and finally inside the sauna - we decided to leave. We reported our experience to the owner who offered a full refund at first. However, we never received any refund and our subsequent mails remained unanswered.

Highly recommend. Very clean and great experience. They texted us the code shortly before our appointment time to unlock the building. Website was also easy to use for booking. There is a small room beside the sauna for changing before the sauna and cold plunge. So nice after a day in the cold hiking.

Fantastic sauna + dip experience. Had a small issue with getting into the sauna but messaged the owners and they were very quick to respond and fix the issue! Highly recommend!!

Unfortunately, this visit didn't bring us expected pleasure. Sauna is designed for 12 people, there were 10 of us and it was too crowded. Besides that the sauna was only heated to 75° and no attempts to heat it up any more were successful. We have been to similar places in Sweden, Norway and Denmark and expected much higher standards, so we were disappointed.
