This is a nice beach and park area for the whole family. The coast guard celebrated “coast guard day” here and it was a great time. The kids love the playground and the trails.

Absolutely stunning views for an out of towner like me. Great place to practice photography and go for a decent walk. It would be fun to come at different times to see the changes in the water and seasons. Not too many bald eagles here on this day. Not crowded at all and it was very easy to take the bus here it's at the end of the bus line. I'm grateful for my stay thank you Juneau.

Beautiful walk on the beach here.

Such a great beach. Fun, clean, and historic. Lots of old broken dishes on the shore. I'm guessing from the mining community that used to be around. Nice sandy beach and water

Lovely wave-free, swimming pool-like northern beach. Excellent place for paddle boarding (especially interesting around Mayflower Island), picnicking, hiking, and bonfires. Family-friendly, basic but clean restrooms, playground, shelters, free parking, mussels and bald eagles galore. Dog-friendly. Very popular with the locals. Sandy Beach (A.K.A. Boot Leg Beach 😉.) is best enjoyed at low tide.

. The park is great, especially if you have kids. What is fantastic is the Treadwell mining town next to it, that no longer exists. You can see what can happen to a bustling mining town 100 yeas after it was destroyed by a fire. Even better, get the augmented reality tour where you can see the original buildings superimposed on the first that is there now. Really cool!

Tour of the location of the gold mining town of Treadwell, AK, ca. 1880-1922. Travis, guide and owner of "Treadwell Alaska's Lost Mine Tour", grew up here and told us of the history, success, and ultimate failure of the mining operations, which ended the largest town in the area at the time. Assisted by IPads with gallery photos and virtual replacements of buildings on site made for an interesting and informative tour. Nice, level walk thru lovely, now forested park.

Beautiful beach for camp fires, cookouts, swimming and just relaxing! Multiple places to play games, shelter Availability and close to Treadwell Arena and ball parks.
