Savoia Excelsior Palace

The Savoia Excelsior Palace offers an excellent stay in a prime location, with competitive room rates compared to other nearby properties. The staff consistently demonstrate a friendly, helpful, and proactive attitude, contributing greatly to a positive guest experience. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean, and exceed expectations, with comfortable beds and a choice of pillow firmness to suit individual preferences. Guests can also enjoy spectacular views from the rooms. Both room service and breakfast are of a high standard. Overall, the experience is thoroughly enjoyable, memorable, and highly recommended. We would certainly choose to stay here again.

This is a great hotel. It’s luxurious without being pretentious. All of the staff were so kind and friendly and went out of their way to be nice! We had a suite, which was beautiful and comfortable and well thought out regarding layout , in room coffee, comfortable bed and pillows, large closet area, good lighting. It really checked all the boxes! But the staff is what really deserves the 5+ stars. They were genuinely kind and helpful which we really appreciated! Our only negative experience was with the restaurant. The food was okay (but not fantastic) and our server seemed really unhappy to be serving (maybe she was just having a bad day?). There is also not a lot of ambiance to be found in the restaurant (a bit dry and stuffy). But there are great places within a 5 or 10 minute walk so this wasn’t an issue for us (other than we felt like we wasted one dinner opportunity!). Overall, I would love to come back to this hotel and highly recommend it (but skip the restaurant!).

Kind staff, the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, great valet service, and a delicious breakfast, right in the heart of Trieste. Our dog was warmly welcomed as well; treats and a cozy bed were prepared in the room, and the reception staff spoiled him with treats throughout our stay. Would happily stay again.

We enjoyed our spacious sea-view junior suite and nice bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful — a buffet with a huge number of choices. We enjoyed local wines and free snacks in the beautiful bar/lounge and a steak dinner in Savoy. Service was good throughout the hotel. Giulio is an exceptional concierge — very knowledgeable, totally professional, eager to share his knowledge of the city. Fitness room is nice (the rowing machine and one of two treadmills were not working, but I was the only person in the fitness room the three days that I went there). Great location if you are boarding a cruise ship (the hotel is across the street from the cruise ship dock). Only negative: Old and stained carpet in our suite.

Roberta was fantastic on reception the morning we arrived, so helpful and professional with a lovely demeanour. She kindly offered us an upgrade from a classic to superior sea front view! We were blown away. All the staff were lovely m. The service lovely ans Arianne the following afternoon was very helpful with our luggage and retrieving our car even after we had checked out! Love the location the standard and the fabulous staff! I highly recommend. Debbie

What an incredible find! We lucked out when we chose this hotel for our overnight prior to a cruise sailing out of Trieste. Fortunately, this hotel is directly across the street from where you board your ship. No taxi needed; it's an EASY walk across the street with your luggage in tow and you will be at the bag drop off within minutes. Ludovico checked us in and he was professional, friendly and very efficient with the process. We were assigned Room 136...a superior room on the first floor. Let me tell you....it was absolutely beautiful! Citibank Thank You points were used for this reservation and we scored BIG TIME by choosing this hotel. Spacious, elegant and comfort that exceeded our expectations. Victoria was our check out clerk and once again she too exemplified service excellence that seems to be the norm for the Savoia Excelsior Palace. Our biggest regret is that we did not spend more time at this property prior to our cruise. Trieste was lovely and this hotel was the icing on the cake!

This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in in a while and I stay in a lot of hotels. The details/amenities in the room were far superior than many other hotels. It’s also super centrally located in Trieste with a lot of tours picking up right outside. It’s easily walkable to restaurant, the canal and the main square. The staff were all lovely and they have a great lobby bar! Would definitely recommend.

We stayed with you the night before we boarded our regents cruise ship. Your concierge dept, Giulio, was very helpful. Arranged car service from the airport and dinner reservations for us. The room was very comfortable and a spectacular location , front and center, with balcony and waterfront views! Breakfast was continental but had everything you could wish for! Great place to stay! Highly recommend!

We often take time to write a review with unpleasant experience. Today, I am taking my time to write an awesome experience here at this hotel. I arrived at Trieste port from the cruise ship, walked over the street, and saw the hotel that I will be staying at on the next day. I was very surprised that I will be moving my luggages from the ship over to the hotel with just a few steps. It was the most convenient move ever! The hotel itself was amazing! Beautiful, super clean, and the staffs here are so nice. Service is beyond my expectation. We arrived early. Matteo made every effort to get the room ready for me as fast as he can. He was so accommodating. Really appreciate this as we needed a place to rest. Breakfast was great! View of my cruise ship. Leunijt was amazing! He made sure customers are taken care of. I noticed another group appreciated him so much and showed him a token of appreciation. I would come back here again.

This hotel is your standard preppy business hotel. I came here on a business trip expecting Trieste was another lame city that I would hate. (I hate shopping.) But, when I came, I was surprised how modern and leisure the town was. Its beautiful horizon just corners the hotel, as its rushing cars, and many restaurants and bars surround it. This hotel is great for staying if you like food. The piazza is just a block away from it, with attractions such as creamy chocolate gelato, and delicious savory pizza. The place is crowded with tourists and families enjoying their time. Trieste is a 5/5 for me. Now that we have gotten the city and surrounding attractions out of the way, let's discuss the hotel itself. The staff is kind and friendly, always stooping up to your every need, and always welcoming. This is the only part that slightly annoys me. Sometimes the staff can be so accommodating, that it does become overwhelming. But, that does not distract me from a great hotel, with enormous rooms, quiet guests, and pleasant staff.

The name does not lie. It is like some sort of renovated palace. There are huge rooms, high ceilings, chandeliers, marble floors and fancy furniture everywhere. It is in a great location in Trieste, right on the water front and 2 mins walk from the main square and the canal. The staff are really friendly and eager to you help with anything you ask. Breakfast was good and included in the room rate. If I was going back to Trieste I would definitely stay here again. It's a bit like going back in time, but not in a dated way. It's fully modern, but embraces the elegance of it's older attributes.
