Fantastic place for after work drinks. A couple beers on tap and a good food menu. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Drinkers choice depending on the weather. The wait staff speaks very good engrish and has a surprising ability to banter and engage in humor.

Pick up from the airport (not complementary) but with great chauffeur was perfectly organised. The arrival and the first impression of this hotel in the heart of green Yangon were amazing You feel back in time but with a state of the art touch of the 21st century. The wooden floors shining, antiques from Myanmar perfectly placed, accurate paintings and drawings on the hallway walls. In this hotel you still can feel the colonial touch. We were stunned by the details as I mentioned before. The deluxe room we had was wonderfully furnished. I especially liked the dark and light brown tiles of the shower. Every details matched - and yet not one item was too much. They manage to balance everything out to perfect symbiosis. The staff is highly professional and anticipates your wishes miraculously. We couldn't ask for more. Thank you very much for everything!

In the bistro downstairs, superb food and a very nice environment adjacent to the pool. Great beef but also scallops, salmon and a beetroot feta salad. My go-to lunch treat after a long Sunday morning run

Beautiful hotel, Amazing colonial decoration, service at the highest level. They know your name, what you like, after very short Time. Restaurants and bar are great too. Probably one of the best hotel choice in Yangon, if you have the budget of course ! Comparing to other luxe hotel, there is a real soul in Savoy. And very nice swimming pool !

EDIT: I have now given a lower rating because their undercooked hamburger gave me stomach flu. Excellent hotel, I love the woodwork in all the rooms, it's really beautiful. The room was nice and clean. No mosquito bites during the time at the hotel, though there were some mosquitoes which came out of the bathroom. However we did get help with that and the bathroom was sprayed. I only have a few complaints. One was when we were leaving for breakfast and our room was going to be cleaned without us asking. There is a sign you can put on the doorknob which indicates if we want our room cleaned or not. This lead to me losing a small item in the room, and then I didn't know if it was my fault or the cleaners. I also had a pretty important card left on the floor on that morning and naturally you would throw that if you found it, but I didn't want it to be thrown and I luckily found it in the bin. Just please don't clean if people do not ask for it. And I have some small complaints about the food. The burger I had one evening was not medium rare at all. The burger was undercooked and it nearly looked raw on the inside. The bacon I had one morning was not crispy at all. It was more hard and difficult to bite. If you're not able to make it crispy then just put 'Bacon' on the menu instead of 'Crispy Bacon' Honestly though, I would recommend this hotel to anyone and its a lot better than the past hotels I've been in Yangon. My complaints are very minor and I wouldn't see them as a big problem. Thank you for a nice hotel with wonderful service.

Pros Friendly staff Big rooms 24 rooms in total Cons Expensive +++ Mosquitoes in room Poor shower water pressure Compulsory dinner for Xmas Eve/NYE (US$100pp) Food wasn't great This boutique hotel had very good reviews online. I wonder if it's due to good marketing. Located away from downtown, walkable to Shwedagon Pagoda. The establishment and staff is great but definitely needs to readjust room prices, combat in-room mosquito problems, remove compulsory dinners and improve water pressure. Sorry I couldn't be more positive about this review.

Not having stayed at the hotel, I can only comment as a customer who has visited the Savoy bar for meetings and social gatherings. The atmosphere and service at the bar is good. It is a small bar, but the decor and service is of a very good standard, particularly if you like the nautical themed type of place. Great place to visit if you are with a small group of friends (3 to 6) and wish to enjoy a quiet drink or light meal. They also have a piano tucked away in another function room, which the staff allowed me to play. That was enjoyable. Thank you Savoy.

Their business lunch offers either two or three courses meal around 20 USD. Thursday is vegetarian day so I really tried to avoid. However, I really feel this is one of the hidden jewel in the city. Surprised once I stepped in a very good way - well and carefully decorated bar and restaurant by the pool. My favorite business lunch is Wednesday - gourmet burger day. One meal can serve two people with a tuborg beer.
