Taj Savoy – OOTY
A near-perfect walk down memory lane. My first visit was in August 2003, when my son was just two months old, to a place where WEDDING 2007 was shot.
Returning now, with him a mature adult of almost 24, made the experience deeply special.
An amazing place with amazing food and staff. The yoga instructor truly stood out—everyone has their own style, and his was memorable.
He kept pronouncing “DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP” during inhalation and exhalation. Initially, I even repeated it softly, thinking it was some kind of mantra. Only after ten minutes did I realize he was simply saying “deep.” 😊
Just a small piece of feedback: although the rooms are refurbished, they lack a bit of fine finishing. Some glass panes are slightly coarse—about 5%—which could potentially cause injury.
Unfortunately, this did happen with my spouse; she cut her finger. She jokingly used that blood on my forehead, a symbolism far better explained in the book Hematologies: The Political Life of Blood in India by Jacob Copeman and Dwaipayan Banerjee.
Coming back to the stay overall—9.9 out of 10.
The missing 0.1 is only for the coarse glass panes.
