Sav’s Gourmet Ice Cream

We were in the area for Blue Door BBQ and decided to top off our brisket with some desert. To our surprise, Sav’s ice cream was exceptional. Definitely worthy of 5 star rating and a repeat to try out other flavors.

This place was great. The guy makes all his own ice cream. He has a lot of great flavors, he has traditional flavors such as mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, chocolate, strawberry. And more creative ones. Like spicy banana, honey bourbon, hibiscus, espresso. I got the Spanish peanut butter ice cream, it was amazing. I also got the chocolate raspberry, which was good too. The owner said the Spanish peanut butter flavor and chocolate almond coconut were his favorite flavors.

Sav’s was fun! Some inventive ice cream flavours and he’s a lovely guy. There weren’t any flavours I wanted personally (hence the 4/5 stars), but the wife got the Ale-8-One flavour and loved it (wasn’t for me). Basically this comes down to a difference of personal taste, but I can tell from the wife’s enthusiasm that it was excellent quality.

Ice cream is fresh made locally. Many interesting flavors such as spicy banana and Ale 8, in addition to the usual favorites such as Butter Pecan and Mint Chip. My significant other said "this is the pistachio flavor that I wish all other places had."

It's a hard place to find. But when you do... THE ICE CREAM is so good! My personal favorite was the Ale8one sorbet!! So good!!

Testing the flavors before ordering them is highly recommended. Overall, it is a nice ice cream place.

Fabulous indie ice cream shop, the owner says makes all the ice cream in-house and you can tell the quality is there. I sampled two flavors that were both very good but the pistachio just blew me away. It was perfect; creamy, perfect level of sweetness and flavor intensity - the best pistachio ice cream I've ever had. Friends sampled and enjoyed many other flavors and they all were very happy with their choices. It's not cheap but the quality is there and if you, like me, appreciate good ice cream you should stop in and give it a try.

The new incarnation of Sav's Chill has easy access, parking and outside tables. I stopped by for an afternoon snack. Tasted the lavender, but wasn't fond of it. Had the coffee with bourbon. Needed more bourbon, but still tasty. NOTE: Keeneland sells Sav's ice cream. 2nd floor. 96

Maybe competing for my favorite spots and perhaps amongst the best ice cream in the area. Starting with what's most important, the ice cream, it is incredibly delectable and packed with flavor. The flavor is balanced extremely well, it is sweet yet not overly done. The texture is perfect, incredibly creamy and the mix ins are done very well, it is little things that make all the difference like the perfectly toasted pecans being ground in the butter, pecan ice cream. The flavor combinations available span classics, as well as some more creative and unique flavors, yet all are top-tier. The service was super friendly and prompt, and the pricing was fair. The interior is cute and offers a decent amount of seating for a groups small and large (there's also seating available outside). Would highly highly recommend and will definitely be returning
