Yelp
Lots of imitation (fake) crab, "spicy" chopped fish and cream cheese filled rolls to enjoy.
It doesn't seem to be a very authentic Japanese sushi restaurant even though its business profile highlights it.
The hot green tea though was served properly frothed (it wasn't in a tea bag).
Curious why they don't spell crab with a "K" (i.e. Krab) or note it's not actually crab but flavored seafood blend?
The amount of pickled ginger and wasabi provided for two people was minimal.
Service was attentive and welcoming.
We ordered four special rolls. Noticed the pieces of fish were very small. We did find rolls that didn't contain imitation crab and chopped spicy fish parts.
While the seaweed salad was enjoyable, the portion served was extremely small.
Rating it 2* as we anticipated it'd be a more authentic Japanese sushi venue based on its marketing. The wasabi wasn't fresh and portion was small, soy sauce wasn't homemade, and lots of spicy fish parts and fake crab. When compared to other sushi restaurants in Vegas, it's on the OK list.
The main ingredient in imitation crab is surimi, (Alaskan Pollock), which is typically mixed with water, starch, sodium, sugar, egg whites, vegetable oil, and additives such as Gums, red colorant, Glutamates, artificial flavoring and preservatives. It has often has less nutritional value than real crab; therefore, it'd be helpful if restaurants that use Fake or Imitation-Crab spell crab with a K (Krab) so consumers aren't misled at point of sale and they can chose to consume imitation crab or not.
