Sawa sushi

I'm an Asian person who loves Japanese food and enjoys trying out new restaurants. This was my first time dining at this restaurant, and honestly, I was truly amazed! First of all, the sushi, rolls, and ramen broth were absolutely delicious!!! The sashimi portions were generous, the rice was incredibly fine, and the ramen broth was incredibly rich – simply unparalleled!!! Next, the price. I initially thought the à la carte prices would be quite expensive, but in reality, it only costs $20-30 per person! It's fantastic! Finally, the service was also excellent; they were very attentive to my dining experience without being overly intrusive! Highly recommended!

5 stars all around. Best sushi experience in Vegas local scenery, everything is so fresh and tasty. Chef is so friendly and hospitable and the whole crew is extremely welcoming.

When a sushi chef serves you nigiri and it's as you should eat it. Don't add, don't subtract just enjoy. You know you've found a gem. Sawa sushi doesn't look like much, tucked away in a target parking lot but it's a pretty big deal. I was there nightly. The chef and server were kind, friendly and inviting. Do not pass this place by.

OBSESSED. Found this local spot on a whim based upon reviews. And WOW. came 3 weeks in a row. Delicious. Fresh. And great deals. Staff is fun and friendly too. Already brought 2 other people with me and they both loved it too.

This quickly became my go to spot for a quick sushi lunch or dinner. The salmon skin salad is incredible. Pair it with some nigiri and you have an inexpensive, but delicious meal. I go here at least weekly for lunch!

I love Sawa. It's one of those hole in the wall places that, despite their resistance to modernize anything (no tap pay, no online ordering, no consistent menu engineering), they do what they do really well. Service is always phenomenal. Brittany is our favorite server. I found this little gem through Yelp, noticed they had a little deal - buy 2 signature rolls and get one free. The first roll I ever ordered was the Hawaiian Roll. Not sure if it's the actual roll itself or the nostalgia of it being my first love on their menu, but it's what I classify as the perfect roll. It's simple, nothing too special, yet it's the BEST at Sawa. Other places offer a roll similar, but for some reason Sawa's is better. Service is quick, servers get to know you quickly as their staff seems to be the same(ish) since we started eating here about 5 years ago. My go-to favorites: Hawaiian Roll Maui Maui Garlic Albacore Also I need to note that they are one of the few to serve Inari consistently. For babies / toddlers this is a favorite and for some reason a lot of other places don't offer it, or even know what it is LOL. My daughter loves their Inari. The restaurant itself is small, yet welcoming. It does get crowded quick, but because service is fast, I've never really seen people wait too long. After giving up sushi for 9 months while pregnant, Sawa was the first thing I asked for after giving birth, while I was still in the hospital. LOL! I hope Sawa is around forever. I love them!

This was my first time at Sawa Sushi (and also my first sushi experience in Las Vegas that wasn't AYCE) and I was pleasantly surprised! I went on a weekday evening, and it wasn't too busy, so we were seated quickly and our food came out fast. They have a great buy 2, get 1 free deal on rolls, so we tried the Rockin' Roll, Monkey Brain Roll, and Japanese Lasagna Roll. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. Unlike many AYCE spots, each roll felt distinct and thoughtfully made, both in flavor and presentation. The portion size was perfect for two hungry people, though I think we could've easily added an appetizer or another roll and still finished everything. The overall atmosphere was calm and clean, making for an enjoyable and relaxed dinner. I'm really glad to have found a solid sushi spot nearby that serves high-quality rolls without the AYCE rush. Definitely planning to come back when the sushi cravings hit!

One of my fav sushi spots in Vegas! I go here at least once a month or so. They don't have all-you-can-eat, but they offer a great buy 2 rolls, get 1 free deal. Service is always excellent, the space is inviting and cozy, and they play smooth jazz. Not flashy, and that's how I like it.

A little shop nestled in a strip mall. I was expecting to be disappointed, but wow! Excellent quality, value, and service. I'll be back and will recommend.

Such cute small Japanese restaurant!! in the great location of blue diamond !! a small family owned restaurant the sushi are so fresh so tasty !!! They always have a special you buy two and get the third one free!! The owners are just wonderful!! Love this place !!

Sawa Sushi is definitely one of my husband's go-to locations. We enjoy their buy two get one free deal on sushi rolls. My husband and I have our go-to choices on the menu and it's so great that the server there remembers our orders. The workers there make you feel welcome and their service is great. The sushi chefs are so nice and their presentation of food is nice. Overall, our experiences with Sawa Sushi have always been great. Love coming here. They never disappoint

Very impressed with the atmosphere, sushi rolls, and customer service. Chef and employees are welcoming, friendly, and most importantly...they put a good amount of rice per roll (just enough where it's not too overwhelming/filling). Best deal there: If you buy 2 set of rolls, the 3rd one is free! I have yet to come back and try their sashimi/nigiri cuts.

Walked in and was greeted and seated right away. Great for lunch as they have the bento box and it comes with salad, miso soup, tempura and your choice of meat and California rolls (4pcs) Service was super great, food was good and it's a small Asian restaurant.

Solid Japanese fare in south LV. On way home, daughters were craving Japanese food so they split a tempura udon, edamame, and ikura sushi. Matsu combo had 7 pieces of nigiri and California rolls. The rice quality was subpar but fish was decent. Tempura was actually ebi fry. But delicious. Salmon skin salad was refreshing they add shichimi to spice up the dressing. All in all, nice strip mall dive for a Japanese bite. Service was friendly.

I've eaten here before and had forgotten how good it was! Sawa Sushi, located on Blue Diamond Rd, is nestled between an optometry practice and Sport Clips. Fair warning: the restaurant is in a small space with one server and about 1-2 sushi chefs. It can get pretty crowded during peak hours. [Parking] plentiful! Dont worry, you'll be able to find a spot. I recently came in to have lunch with my sister. We skipped the lunch specials and ordered from their Buy 2 get 1 free menu. We had: * House salad - we loved the ginger dressing and the portion was big enough for the both of us (we didn't even finish it). * Edamame - warm and sprinkled with salt. Yum * Krabby Patty Roll - deep friend and topped with imitation crab. The sauce was delicious, and we also dipped it into the ginger salad dressing. * Crispy Rice Roll - crunchy and tasty. [Service] excellent! Our server did a great job juggling multiple tables while keeping everyone happy. Overall: 5 stars. Reasonable prices, great service, and good food. Enjoy!

Came for the frosty Sapporo mug and stayed for the sushi! everything was really reasonably priced and the sushi was better than i expected it to be! They have a buy 2 get one free on specialty rolls and you get a free hot sake with your large beer purchase. Would come back!

I went with my coworkers for lunch and wow!! I've eaten a lot of sushi in Vegas but this was the best I've had so far. The food was fresh, the hostess was so sweet and kind, the chef was quick and experienced and I loved the feel of the restaurant. I will absolutely come here again. Thank you!

My friend took me here, & then I took my husband here for lunch. Oh my gosh! Be warned, the Bento Box Lunch is super big! So much food I had two meals out of it! I had the Teriyaki Salmon, it came with CA rolls, tempura, miso soup, salad, rice, & 2 HUGE salmon filets! I also ordered a side of sushi with it, which I probably didn't need. I could taste the freshness and quality of the food here. The sushi chefs are excellent at preparing good looking dishes! We ate at the sushi bar. The service was quick. We will definitely be coming back again!

We've been coming here for years, and they never disappoint! The food is always fresh and tastes great every time. Plus, you can't go wrong with the "buy 2 rolls, get 1 free" special. The service is friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The restaurant is small but clean and well-managed. It's located in a large shopping plaza, so parking is never an issue.

Date night is on a Friday at my place and on a Saturday at my boyfriend's place. Our recent date night fell on a Saturday and we chose to go to Sawa Sushi, located on Blue Diamond in the building right next to In-N-Out. We love sushi and we haven't had it in a while. We walked in and it was very busy! One of the waitresses there greeted us and guided us to a table in the back next to the sushi bar. With so many sushi joints here in town, it's always hard to pick just one favorite. This joint had lots of sushi options to choose from, and we chose to go with three different sushi types. We started off with fried calamari with dipping sauce as our appetizer. The calamari was crispy and had a great taste to it, but I did not get the chance to try the dipping sauce. For sushi, we chose the Philadelphia Roll (one of my all time favorites), the Rainbow Roll, and the Crunchy Dragon Roll. The Philadelphia Roll and Rainbow Roll were spot on and had lots of flavor to them. My boyfriend said that the Crunchy Dragon Roll, which he ordered for himself, was excellent. I shared the Rainbow Roll with him and I thought it was really good too. I really liked this sushi place! I would like to come back again in the future.

Best sushi I've ever had! I am from California and we don't have anything on the place. The authenticity and atmosphere is unmatched! Service is incredible! She is such a sweet lady & I believe her husband is the master chef! Amazing experience every time me and my wife come! Don't sleep on this place!

Everything is sensational, from the super friendly and upbeat people working there to the fresh, fresh, fresh and super tasty rolls. And to boot, sometimes they have buy 2 get 1 free, which I partook. It's worth the trip.

Was waiting for some work to be done at Discount Tire nearby and decided to pop into Sawa Sushi for a quick lunch, so glad I did! I ordered two plates of seared salmon and a Japanese lasagna roll, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The seared salmon was delicious and the Japanese lasagna had the perfect balance of textures and flavors. What really stood out was the service, absolutely excellent. The staff made me feel truly welcomed from start to finish, with friendly smiles and attentive care. It's rare to find a place that combines great food with equally great hospitality, but they nail it. Highly recommend!

We just moved in the southern highlands area so we've been exploring this side of town and the food options in the neighboring area. There's not really a legit sushi spot in this area that I've found. We've frequented Sapporo Revolving Sushi most just for the price and the staff but we decided to try somewhere else. Sawa Sushi is an a la carte sushi restaurant on blue diamond. I would describe the place as casual- there is not a ton of decor or ambience. They are known for their sushi roll special, which I honestly forgot what it was, but I believe it was buy to get one free. We did one of their sushi boats, which came with special rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. We also got a couple appetizers. I tend to like à la cart sushi places for the quality. Overall this place was more like a 3.5 out of five. I thought it was about average as far as food goes. I didn't love the sushi rice and the portions or rice to fish ratio weren't anything special. It's kind of just a run of the mill sushi spot. I did think the server was really nice and made the experience pleasant which is why this is getting a round up from the 3.5. I believe she had an accent of someone who lived in Hawaii. Overall I think the value is there. The sushi boat fed three of us along with the appetizers. I wouldn't say the taste or quality is anything better than an all you can eat spot so I'd find more value going to an AYCE spot and having a variety to choose from.

Completely empty restaurant yet for a party of one they insist on seating you in a tiny table, again completely empty restaurant, walked out, There are other Japanese Restaurants in the area with friendlier customer service. Now I understand why the restaurant was completely empty.

My favorite sushi spot in Vegas. The fish is fresh, soft, delicate, and delicious. This is my husbands an I third time here. We went for the Sawa boat this time. It's the best combo if you want sashimi, nigiri, and your choice of two special rolls. I love having their spicy ponzu sauce to dip sashimi or nigiri in. The staff is kind and attentive. I love it here.

I'm obsessed with sushi wrapped in cucumber and this place will literally cucumber wrap any roll on their menu. I was a bit disappointed when I asked him for no cucumber skin on my sushi and the chef told my waitress that it's always cucumber skin on the rolls, but that just isn't fully true because I've definitely come to this establishment several times and had them remove the skin completely with no issues. I just wish it was a matching ambiance to the amazing taste of the food lol.

Let me just start off saying.....this is NOT AYCE My son and I come here for lunch on occasion and we love this place! The service is always phenomenal and the food always taste delicious. Between the both of us we share a bento box and can't even finish it. It's very filling! If you're in the mood for some rolls they are also very delicious but will definitely rack up your bill! I believe the deal is buy 2 get 1 free. I recommend giving this place a try if you want sushi but don't want to stuff your face.

I've been coming to Sawa sushi for about 7 years and this review is long overdue. The food is always fresh. The server Britney is phenomenal and always remembers what I order. You can't beat the buy 2 rolls and get 1 free. The food comes out quickly and it's such a hidden gem. Again not all you can eat, but affordable and quality is top notch.

I just love this place, my family have become regulars. The sushi is always fresh and the service is magnificent. Highly recommend it if you want an early meal, or want to get some sushi for a take home treat .

Sawa Sushi was fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!! It was quite and small plus is had a great vibe. Service was excellent and quick My group of 3 were celebrating a birthday and originally were trying to go to a recommended place but it ended up being closed so I did what I always do and got on Yelp and found this gem. It had great reviews so we just had to try it. We thought it was all you can eat BUT it ended up being even better buy 2 rolls & get one free all the rolls were exceptional and the sushi was soooooooooooooooooooooo fresh and it was bomb. Flavors were fantastic and the names were cool anyways go try it out you won't be mislead!

My first sushi experience and i'm not disappointed. this place had very fast and friendly customer service. I had a multiple of rolls and everything was fantastic. I also had tempura shrimp and gyoza also fantastic. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Picked up food to go. My first time trying it. It was good. I got the DHA provider, fried gyoza, and cucumber salad. I asked for the DHA with extra salmon instead of tuna.

I came here for lunch and ordered the shrimp tempura roll. It was not crunchy or warm, so clearly not fresh. Why would you pre-make a fried dish? The waitress was nice and attentive, but the food disappointed on every level. This has been a great lunch go to for me for years but I won't return and I would not recommend this restaurant.

This seems like a family restaurant. The waitress is from Japan, which is a rarity in the U.S.; most Japanese restaurants are owned and managed by Chinese or Korean owners and chefs. The menu caters to the American palate. There are the standard Japanese restaurant items that you would expect on the menu - there are few options that are uniquely Japanese specialty items. No fugu on the menu! There are, however, quite a few rolls available, and there is an ongoing discount of 3 rolls for the price of 2. We went for the bento box. There were 3 of us, and we had the salmon, beef, and chicken bento boxes. The food was fresh, filling, and appetizing. Lastly, the prices are about half to 2/3 what you would expect to pay in other sushi restaurants. The bento boxes were about $17. We also had edamame, which was $3.50 and a small hot sake flask, which was also $3.50. So you can save yourself some hard-earned cash that you will later blow at the nearby casinos. You will walk away feeling satiated and satisfied.
