This hotel was great. The restaurants attached have decent food. The views were great. It’s close to the golf course so you don’t have to go far. The real gem is the bartender Mark at the bar on the 1st floor. He was great! Best bartender I’ve ever had.. made great small talk, super informative and passionate about his job. Wonderful guy! Shout out to Mark!

My husband and I stayed recently for multiple nights, visiting the area on an off season vacation. We had a villa room, not in the main hotel area. Our room was clean and dutifully refreshed every day. The bed was comfortable and our climate control worked well. Our room, and maybe this is not typical of the whole complex, seemed like it’s been well-worn. Some furniture, tiles in the bathroom, and other finishes appeared worn or dented, etc. We both said we’d stay here again, though, because the grounds are just gorgeous and the walkways with little bridges to the other tropically landscaped areas are just beautiful. Even though it’s off season, the landscaping is still maintain, the pool is flawless, and the staff treated us wonderfully. In fact, since there were less people, I feel like we got even more personal and friendly attention. We had the breakfast buffet each morning and the waiters and waitresses are seasoned, experienced and have excellent people skills. They made and effort to know us and recognize us each morning. The on-site restaurant is good and has a lovely outdoor patio that scores points for atmosphere. We particularly liked sitting on the main, stage huge outdoor patio. That overlooks the lake and golf course. They have gas fire pits - and sitting around them in the evening with a glass of wine was just delightful. So, even though we took off a star for the older rooms, we’d recommend this resort!

First, I will rate my massage, it was exceptional as always, Murial is the absolute best(10/10)! That said, the rest of the experience did not meet expectations (2nd time in last few months). Last time the Steam room wasn’t working, this time the Hot tub in men’s locker room wasn’t working. It would be great if you would notify guests ahead of time so that they can alter plans if wanted. The men’s relaxation room had someone’s towel on n the lounge when I came in and was still there when I was finished with my massage. There were user washcloths in the shower stall as well. Simple adjustments would elevate the experience.

I stayed at the Marriott Villas at TPC Sawgrass and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience. From day one, I had multiple issues: I kept getting locked out of my room repeatedly, which even made me late for dinner one night. I was staying in the villas, not the main hotel, so it was a huge inconvenience to keep going back and forth. On top of that, my room wasn’t cleaned on the first day at all no fresh towels, no bed made after I came back from golfing. Even after I told them about the TV and phone not working, nothing got fixed by the next day. The only thing that improved was that they finally cleaned the room, but the overall service was just really below par. I spoke to a manager about it and felt like my concerns were brushed off completely. Sadly, I won’t be staying here again

Considering the amount of money we paid to stay two nights at this establishment - we were expecting exceptional. What we received? Sub par. And the spa? Oof. I’ve had better massages at the local Hand and Stone in our hometown, for hundreds less. The spa not only charges WAY too much for massages, they hit you with a “$100 service charge” that the front desk staff can’t quite explain. The Womens locker room area had three showers that barely worked, and the entire area had an off putting aroma, similar to that of being in a moisture ridden basement. Everything was incredibly outdated and in dire need of renovation. For perspective if curious, my husband and I spent $650 for 1 mani, 1 pedi, and 2 50 minute massages. Caveat - The mani/pedi services however were phenomenal and reasonably priced. Veronica and Elizabeth are outstanding! The hotel experience was lackluster at best. Upon checkin, the front desk receptionist seemed annoyed to be helping us. The room seemed to have AC problems and was very muggy and humid throughout the stay. The bathroom didn’t have a fan. Zero water pressure in shower. Roach in shower on second day. Toilet clogged. Parking cost $22 per night, I’m not talking about valet service. I’m talking about the old fashioned, do it yourself, park down the hill in the parking lot. The internet was also not complimentary. It was $12-20 a day depending on which package you wanted. The in-house Starbucks coffee was decent, however the fruit we got from it was covered in mold. The best part of the trip was the round of golf we played at the players stadium course, the hospitality, conditions, and overall experience was immaculate. Despite the cost per round, we will absolutely play there again bc of the incredible experience of every facet of the stadium course. From every staff member, to the food, course conditions, clubhouse, you name it - top notch. Will we stay at the Marriott or go to the spa when we play? Absolutely not. Not trying to complain, just preparing any future folks who are middle class people and want an awesome vacation experience. We learned that each property (spa, Marriott, golf course) are all different management, which makes sense. During our stay we received the same feedback about the Marriott and spa from other guests, as well as a handful of staff members. Disappointing, but lesson learned. Hope this review helps the next family looking to stay here.

We stayed here recently to celebrate a milestone birthday for our sister who has recently relocated to the area. The location off A1A was excellent — very easy to get to everything — and we enjoyed the spa. The beach cabana sounded very nice as well, but we were informed too late of access to this amenity. However, our stay fell short in several areas: Hotel design: The large open atrium design lets noise travel throughout the building. Sound from the lobby and ground level bar was clearly audible from our room. Service at check-in: The front desk agent did not provide any orientation to the property (resort fee, dining options, Wi-Fi, etc.) We had to ask several questions to understand basic information. Noise from large gatherings: There were large events both nights of our stay. While this is great business for the hotel, the crowds became loud and rowdy, and the noise carried into the guest floors through the atrium. We had hoped for a peaceful getaway and did not expect to be in such a party environment. Based on the building design and the frequency of events at the property, I would not return. If you are seeking a calm, restful retreat, this is likely not the best choice.

Google
Good morning. Room was the only real issue I had. A/C is a water cooled type and didn’t really cool the room off much during the day. Also just alot of events going on. Likely a result of the season and golf events in the area. Everything was a lil pricey, but I guess that is to be expected there. On to the good stuff. Food was great. Place was clean and everyone was nice. Property overall is beautiful. Close to the course. Alot of businesses in the area so everything was close.

I just returned home from a 4 night stay at The Sawgrass Marriott Resort and am pleased to provide a positive review. I will stay here again on my next trip to Ponte Vedra Beach. This property is beautiful, although it is dated, but not so dated that I would not stay there again. The location is fantastic! There is a shopping village extremely close by, walking distance for most, with some great restaurants, Publix and other stores; very convenient. Good selection of restaurants inside the Marriott. Reception (check-in) team was fantastic. Rooms are a good size and clean. The bathrooms are the most dated. They still have tubs and shower curtains. I don't remember the last hotel I've stayed at that had a tub. They need to replace the tubs with showers and glass walls. The water pressure and temperature fluctuated frequently and made showering more of a chore than a pleasant experience. The Spa building is a short walk away. The gym, which is free, is very well equipped with just about everything you could want/need including Cable Crossover machines, free weights, cardio and other cable equipment. The Spa itself, that you pay $25.00 to enter, is not impressive. The Jacuzzi seats about 4 guys and that might be tight and somewhat 'uncomfortable' for some because of the proximity to each other in a hot tub. It's not for me but I could see how it could be for others. The Cabana Club on the beach was great. A definite PLUS on the trip. In addition to a heated pool, food, adult beverages and access to the beach, the trip the the Cabana Club is a worthwhile experience. Take the shuttle over even if just for a short visit! I need to mention 3 team members that stood out to me. The actions of these 3 team members confirmed why I am a Bonvoy member. 1. Lili at the front desk was helpful, friendly, pleasant and professional. 2. Jaribeth, my housekeeper, went above and beyond. I prefer a firm pillow, not feather. She went out of her way to provide me with the right pillows. She actually brought 3 different kinds of pillows to me to see which I preferred. Thank you Jaribeth! 3. Josh, the Front Desk MOD, was professional and immediately took the appropriate action when I brought something to his attention. He even called me in my room to confirm that all was good. That kind of follow-up is customer service at it's finest! Thank you Josh!

Yelp
Here's what went well... I have the funnest job. But I make it fun. I absolutely love meeting new people -- I feel like I can click with anyone. I just don't always WANT to. Like my friend Nick says, "I don't need more friends." But every once in a while, they dig me too. And I love when that happens. This is Terry and Mark -- my new friends. They work at the Sawgrass Marriott in Ponte Vedra, FL. Two dudes who've decided they're going to be the absolute best at their jobs. And they're killing it. Cheers, boys. Stop by the bar and say "hi". It'll improve your stay. However, the hotel was way swampy with humidity. I get it...it's Florida. But hotels in Alaska don't tell guests, when they're cold while INSIDE, "It's Alaska." Cool it off! Their ops guy needs to stay a night on the property and see what I mean. Otherwise, great stay.

Yelp
I first stayed at the Sawgrass Marriott 10 years ago and swore I'd never return. Unfortunately, I did--for a conference--and regret it as I write this review at 1:20 am. The atrium is incredibly loud, and on upper floors the roof amplifies every sound from the bar area. Tonight, the noise continued past midnight as a group played Charades, shouting every few seconds. I called the front desk twice; they said security would handle it, but nothing changed. Only after I went down myself around 1:00 a.m. did security finally intervene. My first stay was even worse. Our room reeked of sewage from a hole in the wall covering a vent line. Despite multiple calls, housekeeping just sprayed air freshener for two days until I demanded the manager see it herself. She immediately admitted how bad it was and moved us. This property is noisy, poorly maintained, and staffed by people who act only when confronted in person. It's 1:40 a.m. and the noise has started again. As a longtime Marriott Rewards member, I've never experienced such consistently poor management.

Yelp
We stayed in one of the villas at the Marriott at TPC Sawgrass and really enjoyed the space and comfort it offered. Our one-bedroom villa was large, with a separate living room, a convenient kitchenette, and a beautifully updated bathroom that felt modern and fresh. The living room, while spacious and comfortable, was a bit dated and could use some updating to match the rest of the villa's quality. That said, everything was very clean and well-maintained. The resort itself is stunning--peaceful, beautifully landscaped, and located right next to the famous TPC Sawgrass golf course. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and we loved being just a short walk from the clubhouse and restaurant. Overall, it was a relaxing stay in a great location. When they get few more modern touches to the villa's living area, it would be absolutely perfect.

Yelp
Great location with many on-site restaurant options, but the place is well past its prime. It is a stereotypical example of a resort property that needs a MAJOR face-lift, if not a complete teardown. A shuttle trip to the 1912 place down the road is worth doing: great beach location with excellent food.

Yelp
Absolutely horrible experience here. My husband and I were traveling separately. It was 1 AM and there is poor reception so my mobile key was not working. Apparently, despite calling earlier in the day to add me to my reservation, my name was not there. Here I am with a sleeping kid in the car with an incredibly rude and unhelpful front desk staff. She refused to talk to my husband over the phone nor would she talk to the marriott reservation person unless they called the desk. Even if this is policy, there could have been better customer service and communication skill utilization. I was eventually added to the reservation. I will go out of my way never to stay here again.

Yelp
This place is horribly outdated and in need of better maintenance! I came here for a conference and even though I'm not a golfer, I knew enough about the course to know that golfers would expect to stay in a much better place than where I stayed! Checking in was ok. I will say that throughout my stay I needed to go back to the check-in desk as my room key didn't allow me access to the self-parking lot, even though it was supposed to. Each time I went there, there were only 2 people working and a line - this is ridiculous! The one time I waited and spoke to someone, she took my card and came back and said it was fixed. Well, it wasn't, because the next time I went to use it, once again I had to press the button to get someone to open the gate for me. As for my room - horrible! The couch and all the furniture was outdated, stained, saggy, and simply nasty. The bathroom smelled musty and moldy. One of the light bulbs next to the mirror was blown out. The shower gel fell off the wall. The towels were refreshed each day, but each towel was VERY old and thin, definitely should have been replaced long ago. There were issues with light switches on walls or lamps that didn't work. The outside is very poorly marked, you don't know which group of apartments (or villas, as they call them) are which number until you walk up to them and read the number on the door. I could go on and on... But it grossed me out to stay here. The common areas of the property are beautiful though, which is a contradiction to those experiencing what it's like to stay in the rooms. I spoke to many others in our group, as well as friends who have stayed here in the past and 100% of everyone I talked said the same as what I just stated above - it's a very outdated property!

Yelp
They were very accommodating, but the facility is much older.Facility are the first floor smelt like gas. One of the valet guy was very aggressive. He said not parking on the side, but there's no sign that says no parking. And told me my car will be towed. Though I was loading items into my car and waiting on my handicapped mother.

Yelp
Let facts be facts and your not staying here for the room. It's all about the location. Restaurants on site are good and prices better than I thought they would be $5 drafts and a $45 steak. The room, which you met here for. Beds are par and pillows are poor. View is good (room 728). Water pressure, you might have enough to wash your hair... if you are bald. Decent stay, but would likely stay elsewhere for the price.
google avatar

Garrett N.

Yelp
Certainly hoping the Marriott Family and HQ is reading the reviews as they have a property that's just calling out a need for renovation. Ideal location but the rooms date back to ~1992. The beds are worn in, the furnishings need to be replaced and the entire bathroom overhauled including plumbing. Specifically that meant low water pressure, luke warm water, slow flushing old toilets, no exhaust fan which means a continually humid and wet floor and the towels are likely from that era too. It's got good bones but needs a total refresh.

Yelp
Pros: The location is fantastic if you are golfing. The grounds are very well kept. Food/drinks at restaurants and bars are good and servers are great. Our room had tub and no walk-in shower which seemed dated. Cons: Housekeeping comes late and doesn't do a great job. Came in, cleaned a bit but forgot to take glasses, leave TP. Twice. Our room was warm so I had to request a fan to circulate air on night 2 of 5. Now on at day 4 of 5, we have no running water and I have 2 hours before meeting friends for dinner. No notice given. 3.5 hours no water. Again location is great, resort and people great but much room for improvement.

Yelp
I went to the Lobby Bar to meet up with a group from Disney Day Drinkers Club and Florida Day Drinkers Club. Mark the bartender is amazingly talented and skilled at his craft! So of course all the cocktails are masterpieces. The service was beyond stellar and the bar snacks make a great addition to hanging out with a group or even a light appetizer and pre dinner drinks before meandering upstairs to dinner at Vernon's. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
STAY ELSEWHERE... ANYWHERE else! I'm sure it was nice when it was built, but now.... While the outside is beautiful, when you step inside, it is very disappointing! It is RUNDOWN. It is DIRTY. Staff is nice, but DISORGANIZED. We were not given our Marriott Elite upgrade, when a room was available. How do I know this? Because the first room we were assigned had electrical outlet and wires exposed, so we had to go back downstairs and RE- CHECK IN. While we were there, we asked the manager why we weren't given an upgrade, and the response was 'oh, we just gave it to another guest'. So, we actually got a DOWN GRADE. We were put in a room on a lower floor with NO VIEW, except for the roof. Our wall vent/air was falling off, the carpet was shredding in multiple places and had several noticable stains. Our lampshades were crooked, drawers were left open... One lamp the turn switch was falling off and I got zapped upon trying it. Additionally, there were random items left here and there from previous customers... then we get to the bathroom... The faucet was dirty, the mirror was old, peeling and only certain parts gave off dim lighting. As for the shower- the curtain rod was sagging in the middle because the bar was falling off the walls, so the curtain bunched in the middle while showering, getting stuff outside the shower wet! And the faucets in the tub were both loose and didn't direct the water correctly. All in all, a very negative experience. I would NOT recommend this place, especially for the price. Stay elsewhere!

Yelp
What a fun place for a vacation or a staycation! We arrived and were very pleased that the valet parking folks were so kind and welcoming. We quickly got to a room, and changed to get ready for the pool area. We got dinner at the Gator club, right next to the pool where we enjoyed drinks and appetizers. We ended the weekend at the spa for an invigorating massage. The hotel room was spacious, with a large TV, and a great view of the property out a picturesque window. The bathroom offered every amenity desired. While pricing was reasonable, we had the benefit of Marriott points which made the weekend even more affordable. Overall, friendly service, reasonable pricing, a comfortable room, and plenty of amenities make this a wonderful choice when visiting Ponte Vedra.

Teresa P.

Yelp
Bed bugs/ spiders on sheets/ blood and or chocolate on carpet. Needless to say not an enjoyable day. They did change room for us after we complained. In the new room there was a spider in the sheets. We were so tired we just stayed and prayed. No apologies or anything.‍

Yelp
Had I read other reviews before staying here, I would not hav done so and that would've been a shame. My husband and I decided to head over to Ponte Vedra on a STAYcation. The plan was for him to go golfing on one of the beuaitufl courses, and I would relax at the pool. I had the option to go to the spa, but not really a "spa gal" and being annoyingly frugal, haha, I wasnt about to spend $85 for a pedicure. Anyway, we arrived in the BEAUTIFUL area of Ponte Vedra in the afternoon and we were quickly check in by a super friendly and helpful front desk staffer. Throughout the trip I had to visit the front desk a few times for questions and all of them were friendly and helpful. So were the Valet guys! We did not sit at the bar so I cant comment on that. Our room inside the hotel was NOT outdated, everything worked as it should, and there were no disappointments. (I think the outdated rooms might be the suites outside of the hotel) I had to ask a room maid for a few extra washcloths once and she was happy to oblige, with a friendly smile. The beds were comfy and we got good sleep. There are 2 pools next to each other. I do think they should make one pool (the pool next tot he bar in the shade) an adult only pool, since the other pool is so large. Having all the shade under the oaks was very nice. I was sitting under one of the palms at one point and the squirrels were chasing each other and having a blast. I said to a lady closely as long as they dont jump on me, Im fine! 2 Seconds later one of them tumbled quite noisily down the palm HAHAHAHA!! I havent moved that fast in ages, everyone at the pool had a good laugh over it! One of our best decisions was adding on the buffet-made to order breakfast to our room rate ($11). It was well worth it!! There are plenty of Gluten Free options I could choose from! The gal who makes the omelettes does a PHENOMENAL job! perfect 2-egg size, and just delicious! Im coming back just for the breakfast! The servers and hostesses were also very friendly! The only thing I would change to improve, and I say this with all resorts....offer your guests complimentary coffee in the mornings! for goodness sake, people are paying hundreds of dollars to sleep there, and its such a minor expense for the facility! It's so convenient and much appreciated to be able to go down and have a nice cup of coffee and sit on the patio. Side note: we ate dinner one night at a seafood restaurant across the street that was delicious and had a great server (cant remember the name), but shouldnt be hard to find. YES...we will definitely be back!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel located in Jacksonville. Came here because my husband had a conference and I decided to tag along. I knew there wouldn't be much to do here however I wanted to enjoy the r & r and take advantage of hotel amenities. The land is spectacular. If you really enjoy the outdoors, peace and quiet, and exercise this hotel is for you. The hotel is extremely spacious. It has numerous amounts of lakes and trails you can walk around. The gym and spa have their own building. There are a lot of places to sit around and just lounge. It's extremely peaceful. I would see someone coming here to get away from the hustle of city life. There is a golf course here, but I can't tell you much about it because I do not play. The rooms are spacious and nice. My only complaint is I can hear the people next door to me. They aren't LOUD but I can hear them. The rooms are clean and well-kept. The hotel looks well-maintained. There is a Starbucks in the hotel along with a pub. When we checked in we got two passes for one free beer each. Definitely going to use that. I would not recommend this hotel for kids although there are plenty of areas for kids to play. I would venture to say my kids would be bored here. Other than that, it's a nice hotel.

C. D.

Yelp
Stayed here again for work. What was I thinking. Just when I thought I couldn't get any worse, they put me in a bungalow that was right out of the 70s smelled horrible stains on the sheets garbage at the front door and the carpet needed vacuuming not to mention the bathrooms are so out of date. It's ridiculous with horrible water pressure all this place calls itself a resort is beyond me. Getting the manager to rectify things was useless. They were allegedly sold out when I was here last week. It was tumbleweeds and it still looks like tumbleweeds so how they don't have any rooms to hold is beyond me run away run away run away.!!!! And I will probably get a bullshit message from the manager saying we're so sorry we strive to do better and yet they don't they haven't put money into this place in decades Gross!

Yelp
Tomorrow is our 29 year wedding anniversary so I booked a couples massage at the hotel spa. When I told my husband, he was nice enough to book a room at the hotel. We are so happy to be here at this beautiful property. I spent the afternoon at the pool, and then we had dinner outside at the Gator Club restaurant adjacent to the pools. What a relaxing day. The hotel lobby is beautiful with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the lovely view outside. They also have plenty of games outside on the lawn like corn hole, ping pong, and a few others. The lobby also has a nice sit-down restaurant as well as a more casual sports bar type restaurant and a coffee shop with Starbucks products. The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating and even gave us a late checkout to accommodate our spa appointment. The room was very nice with a comfy bed and a big chaise lounge to sit on. I am so glad this hotel is nearby because I am sure we will be back in the future

Yelp
Overall, I was very disappointed with this property. The first impressions were poor and over the course of my 4 night stay it didn't get any better. I pulled up to the valet and parked my car, proceeded to gather all of my belongings, and get my luggage out of the trunk, but no one ever came to assist me. So I proceeded with all of my stuff to the valet desk and then and only then, once I was at the actual desk, did someone say checking in? Once they found my name, then they said, would you like to valet? Of course, I would like to valet! I pulled up to the valet and I walked up to the valet desk. SMH. I then proceeded inside and noticed there was a long line to check in. However, I saw a Bonvoy plate and assumed that was the Marriott Bonvoy elite check in, but there was nobody there. Someone from the line said if you're looking for elite check in there isn't one because otherwise I would be in it too. That was disappointing, but I got to the back of the line. I waited in line almost 20 minutes to check in once I was able to get to the front desk the young man at the front desk checked me in, and then said, I think that's all for me. I looked at him and said you didn't thank me for being a Bonvoy Elite, and you don't have a Bonvoy Elite designated check-in. Do you have any benefits for being Bonvoy Elite? Only then did he offer me a choice on continental breakfast or bonus points. I then proceeded up to my room, and despite my request for a room near the elevator, I was literally the next to last room in the whole way about as far from the elevator as I could be. The room itself is underwhelming it has a rather uncomfortable chaise lounge. It features 2 double beds, not queens, and my "resort view" was of a rooftop. The pillows were awful and again despite my Bonvoy preferences for foam pillows I had all feather. I tried to call and ask for foam pillows, but the phone in my room was broken and there was a huge line downstairs so I sucked it up for the night. The next day I used the chat feature in the bonvoy app to ask for foam pillows and for my phone to be fixed. When I returned later in the day and neither had been done I went to the desk. Well, it took yet another request on the app before I finally got the foam pillows. The phone despite 2 visits to the front desk and 2 chats on the app was never repaired. Housekeeping also fell short of expectations. I was gone all morning and returned at lunch time to change. My room had not been serviced, but I saw housekeeping in the hallway. They asked if I wanted my room serviced and I replied yes. When I returned that evening it had not been serviced. The next day, the same thing happened and I reported it the front desk because again my phone wasn't working and I wasn't having much better luck with the chat app (hour + for a reply). Finally, the internet tv did not work either. I would say the only thing this resort has going for it is the access to the beach club.

Yelp
The hotel is outdated for a conference hotel. The outside and lawn are very well maintained and will fool you to believe this is a 4 star resort hotel. It is not. Many on-site things close at 4 and what stays open is not worth mentioning. Worst of all, the beds are like rocks and the pillows are flat as stone pathways. What is nice is location to golf courses and the nearby malls with restaurants and pubs all within 15 min walking or short drive.

Yelp
Very disappointing stay. The staff is friendly and the grounds well kept, but for almost $500 a night there are issues. I'm a Platinum member and when I checked in, I didn't get the upgraded room. I was originally assigned to a small "villa,", but I asked for an upgrade and they gave me a large villa, bit with two full size beds, in a bedroom with room for two queens or even two kings. What resort at this price point has full size beds? Initially the villa appeared well appointed except for the almost lime green stucco exterior, which gave the overall impression of a low end apartment building. Inside the living room space was huge and a sort of minimalist decor, nice but uncomfortable to use. And the tv was set in a wooden frame almost twice the size of the tv, giving a 43" tv the look of something larger than. The there was the bathroom; the shower suite looked like it was constructed by amateurs and some obvious touch-up painting was done poorly. The fixtures in the shower appeared to not have been cleaned of hard water stains ever. Other maintenance issues were a sliding door to the great view from the patio was jammed closed and clearly for a long time and there was a large crack in the kitchenette floor. Then there was the restaurant, Vernon's First Coast Kitchen and Bar. Well decorated and great employees, but an uninspiring menu. Worse yet was the gastrointestinal problem I got from their shrimp ceviche that hung on for over a full day. Completely ruined my two night stay. Again, I would like to complement the general grounds of the hotel and the employees who were friendly and professional, especially in their personal appearance and grooming. Many higher end hotels are letting employees selection, training, and grooming standards decline. Pro tip to Marriott, remember that complimentary up grade you promise, and for single and couple travelers, upgrade to a king size bed.

Yelp
I had the opportunity of discovering this gem of a spot a few weeks back for a conference. There is truly lots to like from the beautiful indoor space to the gorgeous outdoor area. The staff was also pretty nice. They have a decent coffee shop that makes Starbucks but isn't one. My room was wonderful. Very large living room with a TV. I will say the TV placement was bad considering that it didn't pull out from the wall. The bedroom was spacious as well. The bathroom is modern and the hot water lasted forever. I didn't eat in the restaurant but did grab a drink from the bar. It was decent.

Yelp
This is a pretty nice resort. They have lots of amenities, at least 2 pools, gym, beach access, shuttle, and more. There are also several places to dine at. There's a shop with mostly golf attire and another gift shop with sundries. I would stay at this place again.

Yelp
Amazing hotel experience! Very nice staff. Very clean facility. My father in law and his wife along with my mother was in town and we decided to get two rooms to enjoy a nice little staycation (vacation in my hometown Jacksonville). The guys went off to TPC sawgrass to golf while the woman stayed back and enjoyed the hotels amenities. We tanned outside in the pool, swam for a bit, played mini golf, rode bikes (all included in your stay) and then played games out of the terrace like corn hole and connect 4. The facility has a nice view upon entrance that has lounge chairs and couches to enjoy the view of the lake/pond and TPC sawgrass.

Yelp
This "resort" is in shambles. It's outdated and worn. The bathrooms are atrocious; they are filthy and smell terrible. I'm shocked this property doesn't have more negative reviews. There were various stains and smudges all over my room, sheets, bathroom walls, towels. I don't trust this place gets properly cleaned (ever). Sanitation/cleanliness should be the top priority at every resort.

Yelp
I was recently here this past weekend. and stayed for 2 nights. Our room had no air conditioning. Maintenance came to inspect the issue with needle nose pliers... and the end result was 2 fans brought in, with a response of "these air conditioners are 35 years old." No one from the hotel offered an apology or to swap rooms. But, it was freezing on the conference side of the hotel. Mold in the shower. Starbucks staff was rude. Gift Shop was closed during business hours.... it was noon. 1 Bar was open until a decent hour. The other's closed early. Food quality was severely lacking at the Beach Club.

Yelp
I found the stay to be disappointing. I expected much more luxury and amenities for a hotel located in walking distance of the PGA and is right on TPC Saw Grass. While the lobby area and the grounds are updated and nice the rooms...especially the villas are stuck in the early 2000s and show some wear. Another sad face has to be the on-site restaurants and the bats. The food was not bad, but it ain't good either. The bartenders made some of the most horrid cocktails...I mean true abominations. Go with wine or take your spirits neat. The staff was the highlight of the visit, they are extremely invested in ensuring you are happy during your stay.

Yelp
They need to update their interior and their billing acctg dept is absolutely terrible. Even after their mgr contacted me the issue still hasn't resolved and I had to contact my issuing bank. Would not stay here again.

Yelp
Honestly - we've traveled a lot and stayed in resorts a lot and this is so disappointing. Only two food options - one is closed at noon and the other is a pub with limited food options. Our heater makes a loud noise. They came twice and we froze last night because they literally turned our heat off! Wallpaper is coming off the walls in the bathroom, vents are nasty, shower curtain is torn across the top... Can't reach the golf shop. Not like a resort stay at all.

Yelp
We had a quick honey moon here because we wanted somewhere close, with a spa, and places to eat/drink at the hotel. We stayed in a villa and it was nice and quiet but a very close walk to the main hotel where all the amenities/bars were located. The only thing I didn't love was the villas seems outdated, it felt really old compared to other hotels I've stayed in at the same price point. Otherwise, the bar they have in the downstairs lobby area had a great charcuterie board. We also received some complementary drinks at check in that we redeemed here. Loved that. The spa was great! I was very relaxed. The pool area was a little run down. I was surprised because Inside the spa It was great, but the pool/ hot tub area was sad looking. I did enjoy they served food and drinks at that pool. Overall it was nice and relaxing while still 20 ish minutes to our house & babysitters.

Yelp
The Sawgrass Marriott was a huge disappointment. My husband and I are loyal Marriott guests- Lifetime Titanium Elite, and have stayed at A LOT of Marriotts, and I have to stay this was the worst one we have ever stayed at. First, the guy who checked me in at the front desk was super high. He asked the same questions over and over again. Not a great first impression. The resort is massive and my room was a million miles away from the main building, where my conference was. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but the property was very poorly lit, and as a woman, walking at night might be feel uneasy. My room was absolutely filthy, and run down. Run down, I could take, but the absolute filth was not good. There was dust everywhere and you could barely see out of the dirty windows. At least the sheets were clean. The sliding door to my room had no door handle. I asked for no maid service and one day I went back to my room and a maid was in there. If I ask you to stay out of the room I paid for, please do that. The icing on the cake was the 30% tip the bartender decided to give herself. Look elsewhere for accommodations.

Yelp
We checked in to the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach Florida. We got a great room with a view of the pool. After check in we made it out in time to catch the end of the beautiful sunset sky! Hunter the night valet was great! After parking our car he let us know if we wanted to go anywhere within a couple miles around the resort they have a shuttle van or black Lincoln Navigator. He took us in the Navigator to dinner. Day 2 We opted for breakfast off property. On the way back to the resort we stopped to check out the Cabana Beach Club which is included with the resort. We will be back tomorrow to spend the day. Once back at the main resort we threw on our swimsuits and headed for the pool. They have 2 pools. The largest pool definitely had more comfortable loungers and that was where we spent our day. We enjoyed sippin our High Noons in the breeze! Day 3 We started our day with breakfast at the resort restaurant Vernon's. They have a menu to order from, but we opted for the buffet with and omelet station. I recommend breakfast here. Everything was good. After breakfast we changed and packed up our goodies to head to the Cabana Beach Club . It is included with our stay and there is a free shuttle to take us back and forth. We rented a couple loungers and an umbrella there. It was a perfect spot to get our toes sandy and listen to the waves roll in. Nothing better than peace and quiet with a few High Noons! Lunch was at Sharkey's Cafe we both just opted for a chicken tender basket that hit the spot. We ventured off property for dinner. Once back at the resort we took a nice long walk around the grounds. The property is truly beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife about every 3rd step Nick took he almost stepped on a lizard. There were turtles swimming and birds in trees. Have you ever heard of an Anhinga bird? No, us either, Nick kept saying he wanted to see a snake or alligator. There were signs all over warning us about not getting too close to the water. I finally saw what at first looked like a snake. Turns out it wasn't a snake, but a type of diving bird called an Anhinga. The beak and neck of it actually look like a snake. We got the see the bird dive. It can go as deep as 60ft for over a min.

Yelp
Beautiful property and you can tell it was once glorious though it seems like current management doesn't care about it at all. Many things dated or just not even working at all, such as the self-parking. Keycard didn't get me into or out of the self park area, was late for a meeting the next day on account of not being able to get out of the blessed parking lot. Not sure how Marriott lets this kind of neglect go unchecked, definitely not up to Marriott standards though at least I used my points and didn't have to pay full price. Staff were excellent, across the board friendly and helpful, just seems a shame that management doesn't want to take care of the property.

Yelp
Positives: Access the Cabana Beach Club, overall location, staff Negatives: villa are outdated and a little dingy Huge win is the Cabana Beach Club access. A quick shuttle ride and you have full access to a gorgeous beach, another pool, and some additional restaurants. If you know Jax, you know the beaches are hit or miss and this one is worth it. Staff at the club was also very nice. I stayed in a villa and it was okay. Super outdated and not as clean as I would have hoped (it was sanitized but the carpet could have used a better vacuuming and the floors had some missed spots and a bunch of cracks. I was also disappointed because the balcony (the reason I got a villa cause I wanted sit outside in the evening), did not have a working light. I looked around and noticed that none of the others had lights on either - wish I knew that the balcony wasn't a night time option. Villa parking is a plus as it's right outside the buildings. The property is big - it's a resort with all the bells and whistles. Main pool area and building are a quick walk over a bridge from the villa (can be deceiving but it's short). It was nice to be tucked away but still close. I plan on staying here again, but I will go for a regular hotel room versus the villa cause the difference of room size and balcony was unnecessary/not usable. Note: I need to give the staff a shoutout, especially the night manager. It must have been a full moon cause it felt like every guest has a problem (that really want a problem) and was nasty to the staff. They handled themselves with decorum and I know they were being treated unkindly.

Yelp
It's sad. This place use to be so nice and friendly. It was fun for groups and solo individuals. I use to visit often and I spoke to many people about it. They have become snobby and unprofessional. You call and speak to Managaent and when they say they will call you back... they NEVER RETURN THE CALLS. I called 5 times... just this month (not counting the previous 2 months) and no one ever called me back. They did not care to book a service. This is not how it use to be when previous managers ran the spa and I know because I went all the time. I loved it! The spa got remodeled and now they are too good for anyone that's not wealthy.... So even though they charge you roughly $250 with a required service charge for your nails that is not enough to use their facility! They are not there for regular individuals, just the wealthy... So I will not go back to that spa!!! They can NEVER RETURN CALLS, they are Rude!!! Unprofessional and Ridiculous. I don't need them! I have other choices! So sad... that brand has lost their reputation from what it was stood for.

Yelp
First off, I have to disclose that my husband is lifetime titanium with Marriott so we got wonderful service and enjoyed a beautiful executive suite. Our service was outstanding and it is a beautiful property. Unfortunately, while I was there, I ordered a seafood dip that was bad for room service. My husband reported the matter to management and the next morning ahead of Restaurant services, apologize profusely, and knowing that my stomach was very upset personally got me poached eggs, which was exactly right for my stomach. Other than that the property is lovely, they have a wonderful beach and of course it is a golfers heaven if you love to go, but there's plenty to do even if you are not into golfing. The location is great. It is near Jacksonville and Saint Augustine in Pointe Verde which is a lovely area in northern Florida. So if you are looking for a change from South Florida and enjoy a combination of the beach and trees, you will enjoy this location. Just be sure to bring a full wallet, because it is a pricey tourist area.

Yelp
Really??? This is a Marriott??? WOW!! I almost mistook it for a Motel 6, but alas, I suspect the Motel 6 is far nicer. At $495/night, our "Villa" was no more than a glorified condo, in a complex, that was modern in 1988.... Same carpet, same furniture, same bathroom fixtures. Shameful. $495/night----- holy cow!! From these "Villas" you must drive EVERYWHERE---- but wait, they do have a shuttle-- that requires at least 2 phone calls and 30" of wait time--- every time. We did go the spa for massages.... Great massages, but again, Motel 6 atmosphere. This place is in serious need of a face lift---- or a total makeover. No water (for drinking) in women's lounge, nothing was ready for high paying customers at Marriott spa. I'm aware that resorts age, but don't charge $$ as if we are at a JW in Palm Desert. This place is a farce of a Marriott. The pool at the spa look like something out of a war movie--- mold in pool, hot tub peeling and their own grounds crew appears to have forgotten it even exists. Again, shameful. I've seen several similar reviews to mine (some nearly a year ago) with the gratuitous response "so sorry for your experience" blah blah blah--- but despite the management effort to "speak to the teams" (such a demeaning response) seemingly nothing has changed. I doubt it will. If you are planning a trip to Sawgrass, don't waste your hard earned money or your hopes on Marriott Sawgrass. It needs to be swallowed up by the sea. Pictures are of the Spa pool and hot tub--- those are not shadows or designs in the water--- it's fungus and peeling concrete. Feels terrific after massage---- not!!

Yelp
This place is huge!. It's about a 35 minute Uber from the JAX. Hotel is not located in a hip hop area but more of a getaway and relax civilization type. Staff here is friendly and very helpful. Their restaurant (and room service) close shop at midnight, and the on sight Starbuck closes pretty early. I think I walked by around 1800 hours and it was closed. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. My only recommendation is their bathroom should have some clothes hook and their shower stall could use a refresh. The shower head works but I like the ones with high pressure.

Yelp
We had NUMEROUS issues with our very expensive suite. First, it was super musty smelling.. Just damp. Our papers felt mushy by the time we left. There was also TORN CARPET with TACKS coming through where I cut my foot. I notified the desk, they said it would all be fixed while we were out for a wedding. NOTHING WAS DONE. I spoke to three people as they kept forwarding me to the wrong person. The TV Was also a waste - it was all unwatchable as the internet did NOT work well. There were also tiles literally falling off the wall. It is a very tired suite and for almost $1k for 2 nights, I would expect a LOT more. And beware of the hidden fees, we were quoted $700 and then were billed for almost $1k. Ridiculous. Never again, Marriott.

Yelp
The staff was friendly and overall great. However, the villas are extremely outdated, smell of mold, the AC in the room is either too cold or too hot, I found short hairs on the comforter, in the sink and in the tub as if it hadn't been cleaned properly. Found a couple of bugs crawling by the toilet. Raccoons can be seen outside at night time hanging out in the walkways of the villas. The reason there are raccoons is because I witnessed several trash bags, some open, left outside of rooms or utility closets all day and night long. If I had to rate the room on a scale from 1-5 it would be a 0. I'm sure there must other rooms on site that may be nice, but as a warning to anyone do not stay at the villas closest to the hotel.

Yelp
Dirty, run-down, and tired. This hotel is a dumpster fire. They charge over $400 per night and it's in 2-Star condition. Don't let the fancy neiborhood fool you. They have blemished the word "Sawgrass".

Yelp
Very disappointing. My husband and I stayed for THE PLAYERS Championship PGA Tour and wow! First off, after arriving to our room, we noticed what looked like a stain under a gift basket that was left for us. I picked the basket up, revealing a stain. I figured it was a coffee stain since it was sitting at the coffee station. I went to wipe it off, and it came up with no problem. Not okay. Next, apparently dusting is not a thing here. The headboard was very dusty and the wood behind the mattress had dust caked up. On to the bathroom. While it was pretty clean, they do not have much in the way of hand soap and lotion. They still give you "bar soap" and it was tiny. They barely offer you lotion, so make sure you have your own. Fortunately, I always have my own, so my husband didn't have to share the meager tube they offer with me. Then, after we returned from the tournament for the day, my husband noticed that housekeeping had been to our room. Who leaves just one washcloth in a hotel room bathroom? There were clearly two suitcases, women's shoes, men's shoes.....and they left ONE washcloth. I called for at least one more and no one came. My husband called hours later to request more. Then, there's the hot water or lack thereof. We had to let the water in the sink run for at least five minutes before getting any. In the shower, you first had to figure out that you had to turn this tiny knob counter clockwise to get hot water. My husband took a cold shower the first two days before he mentioned that he didn't know that. Finally, the toilet seat and toilet paper. The seat was not screwed on tight, so it sat slightly crooked on the base. You also had to turn 90 degrees on the seat to reach the toilet paper, which sat behind you on the wall. The toilet paper is on an open "C" ring, so if you pull just right, the roll comes flying off and in my case, right into the trashcan. Not a good look for Marriott.

Yelp
Okay spot, dated, could use more of a facelift. Two beds in a room are tiny, def not queens or close to it. Vernon's restaurant for breakfast is okay and pub downstairs is good w golden tee and pool table.

Yelp
You ever feel like your intruding at someone's house ? That awkward feeling. Yup that's what my family felt at this property. I can only describe @sawgrassmarriott from Ponte Vedra beach, FL as the worst Marriott resort after 112 stays in 1 year. It's management issue here. Room smelled like a sewage pipe was broken, both TVs did not work and the microwave also didn't work. The property was around 10% capacity and when I called for a late check out I was told no. I guess the titanium member are not appreciated here. Thank you bonvoy titanium services for understanding and giving us our points back. I guess is a common thing at this property! Complete garbage. Luckily @westincapecoral understood our frustrations and booked us a 2 bedroom suite overlooking the marina. we had an amazing time with them. Awesome staff and property!!!

Yelp
Such a lovely place to stay at and enjoy the amenities. This hotel is super clean and the staff is wonderful. There is a Starbucks located inside the convention center and they make ridiculously delicious drinks. The o'dourves are quite delicous as well, I got a chance to try their famous tuna served on edible sesame cracker that's shaped like a spoon, it was a coolest thing I've ever seen. Cocktails and wines are also great.

Yelp
If I can give 0 stars, I would. Stay away from this property, especially the villas (motel quality with no curb appeal). I've been here less than 24 hours and I've been locked out of my room 6 times. 6 times!!!!!! This wouldn't be terrible if you could go down to the lobby and fix it but the villas is a 4 min drive (each way) thru another gate (my gate access didn't work either). The front desk clerk, DJ, insinuates that I am doing something wrong with the key, which is infuriating. I didn't do anything to the key except try to use it and leave it in my car. Julio, the security guard, helped me get into my unit and said this is a known issue with the locks and a persistent problem with guests. If this is a persistent problem, why is DJ suggesting I am the problem? ...so upsetting. I am not asking for 5 star service here. I am simply asking for reliable access to a room I paid for in full and they can't deliver. I would stay away from this property and avoid the aggravation.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time! The resort was a five out of five stars! The service was a ten out of five stars!!!!! Before I get to the folks inside the resort- I have to give mega kudos to John - the young man at the pool and helper with guest activities- he is amazing - my family and I love him!!!! Vanessa at the front desk was outstanding and equally fantastic was the manager Michelle! They both went above and beyond to make sure that my family had a tremendous experience. The accommodations were first class!! If the Marriott Sawgrass is not careful, another resort is going to steal them away, give them both a huge raise and promote them to the levels they deserve!!!

Yelp
Stayed for 4 nights for a corporate event. This is a premier golf destination with a championship course on it played by PGA pros. The grounds are beautiful. You have the option of rooms inside the main hotel or villas which offer more room for families. There is a spa on-site which was lovely and enjoyable. I had a facial that was extremely relaxing. The only meals I had were catered by the hotel for our event and the food was decent...and much as you can get with a buffet. There is a large pub on-site with a fabulous outdoor seating area and even a place to drive some practice balls to an island hole while enjoying a beverage. Rooms were spacious and I found the beds comfortable. Furnishings were a bit outdated and I struggled with plumbing the entire time. I had a great view from my window, only I couldn't see much of it as the seals on the windows were all shot and the windows were largely fogged as a result. Rooms come with the basic amenities and a safe. There is a shuttle to many local attractions including the beach which is nice. If you come here bring your checkbook because as with most resort destinations it's not cheap.

Yelp
My villa smells intensely musty. I think the AC needs a major cleaning. We can't open doors to air out the villa because there are no screens and the mosquitoes are ferocious. These could be a great opportunity to relax in an old Florida environment, but the smell is toxic.. Update! This is a lovely community of old Florida ambiance. The villa setting is peaceful with walking trails, pools, and activities. The villas just need a bit of TLC. Will return!
