We were told that this mall would take more than a day to do..I was up for the challenge! Being that it is the 5th largest shopping mall in the US. I can outshop my whole family (they dont have the endurance I do..hehe) I don't have to go into every store, just the stores that I shop such as TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom rack, Adidas , Gucci, Coach, and the like.
First day we went was on a Sunday, I was surprised that the mall opened until 8p...lucky for me because I went later in the afternoon around 3p. Therefore that is why I had to go back for a second day, I also had a return so thats why I went back the next day Monday and it wasn't as crowded, but I also went later in the day, and they close at 9p weekdays.
Second day I got to go to the Colonnade shops which are on the outside, its mostly high end. I was really interested in Gucci, but they had a line outside which is the norm these days...I did a quick window shop to decide if I wanted to wait in the 93 deg weather which feels.like 104!! No, I did not! Nor did I really see anything I wanted to buy, Back to the air-conditioned shopping, hopefully I can go back when Temps are cooler.
Its easy to get lost in this mall. We walked over 7000 steps that first day,and over 10000 the second, I think its because we circled once losing our directions , easy workout for me though,, I do 12000 steps almost daily when I'm at home. All the stores are bigger as in square footage, and I really like that, thats what takes so long in each store. Searching for the styles and sizes.
Lots of international tourists here...they have their suitcases and carts that look like luggage carts you can rent, rolling around. Some have a 'seat' i saw elderly using to be pushed or 2 kids can fit.
I will definitely be back to this mall as I'm sure I'll be back in Fort Lauderdale.
