The 50 Most Beautiful Places in the U.S.

"Four mountain ranges and four major rivers collide in Sawtooth National Forest, a 2.1 million-acre great-outdoors paradise whose landscape has remained virtually unchanged since Lewis and Clark explored it in 1805. The forest is home to dozens of 10,000-plus-foot peaks, hundreds of sparkling alpine lakes, and more than 3,000 miles of gushing streams, as well as grassy meadows, sagebrush flats, and pine and aspen woods. Manners of exploration are as vast as the land itself and include backpacking, rafting, skiing, and mountain climbing." - Anne Olivia Bauso Anne Olivia Bauso Anne Olivia Bauso is a travel writer and hotel expert based in New York City. Best hidden gem in the state! The hike up to Thompson Peak (the tallest peak in the range) has stunning views the whole way up and is hands down my favorite hike ive ever done. The lakes there have great fishing too

Liz was amazing! Great service, explained the wines well and was so fun and inviting. We were visiting from Oregon and came specifically to wine taste and this winery didn’t disappoint! Nice patio, good wine and cute vibes.

One of my favorites. So many camping spots and hikes around the area. Truly a breath taking trip. People are very friendly as well. Best part about is that it’s dog friendly. Also lots of hot springs within an hour radius of the forest that you can go to

This is one amazing and majestic National Forest. From the Apliine Lakes to the lush valley floors, the scenery is stunning. Some of my most favorite memories are of this place. The rocky crags that are scattered throughout this area are many, along with the thousands of alpine lakes that were created by glaciers are so blue that they don't look real. A place that was created by Mother Nature and shaped by Father Time. There's numerous wildlife unique to this area and a wilderness that is vast, so come prepared, there's a lot to explore. As always, leave no trace, leave it better than you found it, and enjoy 😉.

We hiked a loop in the Sawtooth Wilderness for 5 days. The scenery was breathtaking, hiking through alpine lakes and passes. The trail was quite easy, not rough or rocky. I was surprised how easy it was to access the wilderness, compared to the high sierra for example. The weather was also super great, but quite hot. Nights were spent at: 1- sawtooth lake 2- Baron falls 3- Upper cramer lake 5- Elk lake

I've hiked all over the American West, and the Sawthooths are among my favorite places to hike. Incredible views, beautiful lakes with great fishing, breathtaking mountains.

Beautiful country. Quiet and peaceful. Lots of trails to explore. A quad or side by side is the best way to get around. Miles of trails and the trail conditions are very good. Had a great 7 days there. Hot springs were great to sit in after a full day of hiking.

Yelp
Majestic forest filled with elk, deer @ snow capped mountains. Fifty shades of green, magnificent trails & stunning vistas. The mountain range does resemble the teeth of a saw.
