Beautiful old buildings in a stunning setting. We stayed a couple of nights and had a super time exploring The Lakes. There are a few steps to go up and down in the Hotel but we were given a room with a wet room bathroom, and there were hand holds in there. Although there was a small issue with the high dusting and the shower not draining very well, there were excellent bath mats to ensure my footing and things were fixed very quickly.
There's an old school charm about the the place. Not very mobility scooter friendly, but they allowed us to do the very shortest routes (via staff only areas) to reduce the distances.
The food was spectacular. Simple food, great quality and beautifully cooked. Amazing flavours. A proper chef, who understood his job, was in charge for sure!. I'd go back just for the food!
The staff were lovely too. Very attentive and welcoming (in a northern way). I'd happily stay here again as long as I have a friend to help with the steps that don't have hand holds.
