I booked two separate stays at Scale Suites for my recent trip to Greece, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations.
My reservations:
June 27th - July 1st (assumed minimum 7-day stay)
July 12th - July 17th
Issues encountered:
Sea view misrepresentation: I booked a sea view room, but it only offered a distant glimpse of the ocean.
Disrespectful staff: With the exception of the cafe and housekeeping staff, I found some employees to be disrespectful and seemingly prejudiced towards tourists.
Air conditioning malfunction: During my second stay, the air conditioning in our suite wasn't working. I reported it twice to the manager, who failed to take immediate action.
Late-night disruption: After calling the manager after hours due to the unbearable heat, he arrived at 1:30 am and expected us, including a sleeping 3-year-old, to move rooms.
Reservation error: The manager also admitted to a reservation error on their end. They initially thought our checkout date was July 15th, while my confirmation email clearly stated July 17th.
Unprofessional handling: The manager became aggressive when I refused to leave due to their mistake. He threatened to call the police and even made comments about cutting off utilities.
Tourist police intervention: Fortunately, the tourist police intervened and confirmed our rightful stay until July 17th.
Unresolved conflict: While the manager eventually allowed us to stay, the experience was marred by the constant stress and harassment.
Checkout hostility: During checkout, the same employee who made the reservation error became hostile, accusing me of theft and refusing to explain the charges.
Reason for sharing:
I am writing this review to warn other travelers about the potential issues at Scale Suites. The positive online reviews might not be entirely accurate. It's crucial to choose an establishment that values and respects tourists.
