Scamander Beach Resort

Fantastic rooms — comfy king bed, heaps of pillows, spacious bathroom (low-key renovation inspo), and a great sea view straight across to the beach. Just note some balconies sit right above the pool. The restaurant is the only game in town, so it gets busy — expect around a 45-minute wait. We didn’t mind though: beers, a book, and $20 parma night on Wednesdays made it easy. Go for the Mexican style - it was loaded!

I would happily stay at the resort again. Staff are earthy and respectful. It's a central place to stay when exploring the east coast and beyond! The food is great! Beds are very comfy, rooms are small but certainly manageable, (from an adult perspective only). Clean and tidy, beatiful view! The only thing missing was a microwave, (not that I needed one). To those that this matters to, smokers are even welcome! You get to choose your view whilst having your morning smoffee, out the front with an awesome view or out the back without the view!😉 And the best part of all was the price per person!! A quick overnight stay on our trip down the East Coast, and it was just perfect. All the staff were lovely and friendly, and our room was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view over the beach — such a nice way to end a long day on the road! Dinner at the bistro was great as well. Highly recommend — thank you to the wonderful team who made our stay so welcoming. A very special thank you to Barbara, who kindly helped me with some extra supplies for a sick child we were travelling with. Your thoughtfulness made a big difference.

I had a great stay at Scamander Beach Resort. The location is excellent, just a short walk to the beach, which made it very relaxing. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the free parking and Wi-Fi were very convenient. Overall, great value for money. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

We chose this hotel simply because there were no other options available, and unfortunately, the disappointment was significant. The hotel has so much potential — the location is absolutely stunning, right near the beach — but the condition of the room really let it down. Cleanliness needs serious improvement. The shower curtains were old, the paint on the walls was peeling, and there was even cobwebs. There was no microwave or toaster available, and the hotel does not offer breakfast. Luckily, there are two cafés nearby where we could eat. The staff were friendly, which was a positive. We had dinner at the hotel: the fried noodles were quite disappointing — very oily with an overly sweet sauce. However, the parmy and pizza were tasty. Overall, despite the amazing location and great potential, our stay was disappointing.

Room was great. Do not go to the restaurant. My family and I went and we waited 45 minutes for food. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done. The salad was microwaved and was cold in 10 minutes after coming out. Would recommend the rooms but not the restaurant.

Avoid at any cost - One of the worst 4-star hotel I’ve been. ☹️Overnight stayed when travelling from Hobart, didn’t get an option as all other places are fully booked during holiday season. ▪️For $179 per night - I was expecting the descent room facilities but the room was semi-underground, next to the playground and grassland… Ants can easily come in and found a spider in room 😓 the toilet seats are peeled off, the shower curtain is old fabric seems not hygiene. Plus the water pressure too low to shower properly, the towel hanger is off a bit 😟 Don’t know why there’s a bulk bed chucked in and take a lot of space, only 1 chair and we got nowhere to have our dinner in the room… ▪️Ordered takeway for steamed veggies and grilled chicken breast for $28.. tastes like rubber.. 😨 no any seasoning at all, which make it hard to swallow (I’m usually generous on all kind of food). After reading few other negative reviews, it came clear that the hotel has not been improved in last few years (neither in facilities nor in food quality control)… ▪️Location is good, sit next to the beach 🏖️ but definitely need improvements on food and revocations. Otherwise you just won’t get what you paid for.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was comfortable and clean and the location across the road from the beach made for beautiful views of the sunrise each morning! Bistro was nice and food was good - the second night I ate there the food took a while to come out but the staff were lovely and apologetic and the food was hot and fresh when it arrived. Have to give a special thanks to the team as well as I had to change my booking last minute due to getting snowed in at Cradle, and they were so helpful and accommodating which was hugely appreciated.
