Good location in the town, decorations are a little tacky but I like how you can chosse to have warm or cold lighting in your room. No kitchenette sucks but at least theirs a microwave in the lobby and a tv. I like how theirs a place to keep your luggage if u checkout but dont want to drag it everywhere, they also offer car rental :)

They shuttled us from airport and to our boat. Yummy homemade muffins w coffee in the morning. Very helpful staff and great food right next door. Petersburg is a gem.

Very nice! I stayed here a long time ago and things have definitely improved. Clean and quiet. Great nights sleep.

Scandia House is a cute hotel in the town of Petersburg, population about 3,200. There are not a lot of lodging options but no need to look further if you want a hotel. Rooms were clean and the front desk staff were very helpful. I would have liked to stay longer! The entire town is pretty much walkable from this location. They drove us to the airport for our flight. The king-size beds were great! Petersburg is basically an American fishing village whose entire economy revolves around the water and fishing.

Great location in downtown Petersburg. Restaurants and shops are all a short walk away. The room was clean and comfortable with a small fridge. Front desk staff super friendly and helpful.

Such a great place on the island. Rooms are basic, but very clean, super well cared for. The staff is wonderful, they were so kind and accommodating when I visited with my elderly mother. They put us in a larger room, by the elevator, beds were super Comfy. Right on the Main Street to walk to stores, restaurants, and bars. We met the owner who communicated with me in advance and stopped by just to say hi when we arrived! Again great hospitality, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Petersburg!!

Convenient for the marina and main street of Petersburg. Serves coffee and muffins from 0700. Our room was large with an overbath shower with plenty of hot water, nice & sensible touch a black make up flannel! Hair dryer and coffee maker in room. Our room was street facing & quite noisy but we did have a view.

My company has me travel here nearly every other week for work and we always stay at the the Scandia. I travel all over SEAK, but I can safely say the customer service here is genuinely second to none, consistently. Tonight, I was reminded to finally write the review! Andrea at the front desk kindly offered to set me up with a fan to dry my only pair of shoes after they got soaked outside. It was a small gesture, but it meant so much after a long day of work and travel. She, Juno, and Abi are genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve ever met! If I had one critique, it would be to have larger cups for the coffee in the lobby. It’s so good, I always drink it way too fast 😆

Yelp
Nice, clean property right in the center of town; shuttle will pick you up and drop you off at the airport front door; front desk staff is friendly and don't miss the fresh muffins put out for guests every morning. I've traveled quite extensively across Alaska - this is a great property, especially by all small AK community standards (IOW - this is not the Ritz); manage your expectations and enjoy a pleasant stay in this unique community.

Yelp
We were ready to check into our rooms after a day on the water. The employees were nice and got us checked in quickly. It's rustic and close to everything in town. This town is small and you can get anywhere in five minutes and there are places a few steps away to drink or eat. The rooms are very clean but there is no air conditioning so you could have a problem when it's hot outside. They did end up getting us fans which we appreciated.

Yelp
Cute place, nice staff, but insufferable rooms. I'm typing this while in my room which is sweltering hot (no more fans left) and wondering how I'm going to sleep when I hear the screaming loud TV from my neighbor's room. Earlier, I heard the upstairs person stomping around and rattling around. Every noise from neighbors and stairwells are discernible. I could hear, very clearly, my neighbor's phone conversation. I hear them entering their bathroom. Showering. Sneezing. Thinnest walls ever. A towel on my rack was stained with... something. The ice bucket liner was dirty (even though they claimed to clean them). It's hot, did I mention that? The redeeming factor is how close this place is to everything in walking distance. I just hope I can get sleep after shoving toilet paper in my ears.

Yelp
Perfect spot in Petersberg for being close to everything that you will need to stay in Petersberg. Great large rooms and good staff. No air con but fans are fine. Enjoy the stay there.

Yelp
I enjoyed the stay in the Scandia House. No, it does not compare to a Hilton or Westin but it does compare to a nice Best Western or a Comfort Inn. First treat was the hotel picked us up at the airport in a van. Once at the hotel we were put in room 210 which was right by the back door The beds slept well and were comfortable as were the pillows. Place was clean and the staff was courteous so really, what more can you ask for? There was a very nice coffee shop attached to the hotel and right outside was a food truck that served nice burgers or fish & chips. Good food at decent prices. The town is small so it is literally a 5 minute walk to anything in this town. I would come back here again because my experience was a positive one and we fished here and had great success Stayed July 2016

Yelp
This was my first trip to Alaska and I wasn't sure what to expect. The hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. They transported me to and from the airport and answered all of my questions. It's a very friendly place. The hotel itself is...quaint. The rooms themselves are outdated but it was clean. I came in mid July and had to sleep with the window open all the way, which I'm not accustomed to. The fan alone wasn't enough. The first night I was there, there was only one dinner option in the whole town, which was the taco stand next door. That was a little unexpected but there were some better options the next day.

Yelp
I would not stay here again. The management, we subsequently found out, is very rude to guests. They were certainly rude to our group on a number of occasions. Would not answer questions about the town, gave us bad attitude about some extra towels, and just a general bad demeanor. We started to go out of our way to avoid the front desk. Besides this the town of Petersburg was full of nice people and sites.

Yelp
Scandia House is in a nice location in Petersburg facing the harbor. It is a close walk to all the restaurants and shops. It is a comfortable and affordable place to stay in town.

Yelp
This is certainly the place to stay while in Petersburg. The three-story facility is modern with an elevator and a well-lit, adequately furnished lobby. Rooms are clean and have free wireless internet. Some even offer a view of the mountains and Petersburg harbor. Plus! It's within walking distance from most of Petersburg's sights. A contemporary coffee shop and fun eateries are a hop and skip away from the hotel.

Yelp
Very dated, decorations from the 60's. At $70 a night it would be fine. At $260+ it needs more upgrades. Mattress is as old as the decorations. Has nice curb appeal and your are in a working fish town.

Yelp
Good shuttle service. Front desk clerk very unhappy we were taking up her time with having to check us in or out. Room was fine--clean and quiet.
