My wife and I stayed here from 24-28 August. First time visiting Petersburg.
PRO:
-Good location downtown, within easy walking distance to everything.
-Rooms are spacious, with excellent tub/shower/sink.
-Elevator and stairs provide easy access to all floors.
-Excellent ice machine on second floor!
-Coffee and muffins provided every morning.
-Manager, Juno, provided very good guest service when she was on duty, including helping me print copies of my out of state fishing license.
-Decent WiFi connection at no charge.
-Plenty of electrical outlets in the room.
CON:
-Our room facing the street was very noisy until late in the evening, due to bar goers whooping it up and racing their car engines. (One of the few downsides of the warm, sunny weather we experienced, which required us to keep our window open!)
-Very uncomfortable pillows, thick and solid.
-Didn’t have housekeeping service even once during our 4-day stay. We would have appreciated having the trash emptied, floor vacuumed, clean towels added at least once.
-While the day and early evening front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the overnight dude was clearly not happy to be there, and appeared to do nothing during his shift. There was a town-wide power outage early in the morning of our last day, which triggered the automatic closing doors on the stairwells and elevator access. When power was restored 90 minutes later, he didn’t reopen any of the doors, leaving that chore to us guests.
-The television service was really annoying. We started watching a movie, and after about 45 minutes the TV cut to a news channel without us touching the remote. This happened twice. It was also difficult to access the channel guide. We gave up watching it.
Bottom Line: This is an okay hotel, but if you go, bring your own pillow, earplugs, and a large plastic trash bag.
