This was, by a lot, my favorite hotel of our entire 3+ week trip through Poland and some of Germany. Location is subjective but in my opinion this location is absolutely the best. Alexanderplatz is truly hideous and a bit scary and I wouldn't recommend that location at all. Scandic is right next to public transport, and there is a mall with a grocery store (VERY hidden) about 5 minutes walking away. The sites are spread out so when people say the hotel is close to the sites, it's a bit more complicated than that. The neighborhood around the sites may or may not be a place you want to be in all the time. So --- in short ;) ~this location is best. The window in our room was huge it went from ceiling to floor overlooking a green space where locals took their dogs, and I loved looking out every morning. Beds are really comfortable, pillows are great, bathroom is big and modern, tons of closet space, a desk, desk chair and a lounge chair. Dahoud was fabulous at checkin, super friendly. Hospitality was great every time I called the front desk. I was so sad to leave. Highly highly recommend!!!

I was on a quick trip in Germany to purchase some things. I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. When I arrived and bough the family room (not Presidential Suite as first time at this hotel) and the staff did not set up the room correctly. So I had I had to go down and talk to the receptionist to get someone to fix it. And after that I found out that the room wasn't in working order and had a ton of dings and scratches. And the bathroom door wasn't closing correctly in fact, it was opening itself despite that it shouldn't I got switched to a different room, the same issues, and then another that was in working order. And 2 workers that was sent to fix the 1st room with a bed, they laughed as no one was in the room as I was on my way back, and overheard them laughing and making fun of me as the guest. Apart from those 2, the staff are generally okay. Though with the front parking can be tricky as they don't communicate well and I was locked out even though there is open Disability parking and told them they said "parking full". And not until yesterday night did put a reserved sign on the Disability parking in the underground garage. The food is decent, nothing fancy but nothing terrible either. The rooms aren't up do date, and look like Grandma's house. Be careful when using the bathroom because someone decided to have doors that gives super easy access to the bathtub and shower if you haven't locked the main door. And it's unbearable to stay in the rooms because of the A/C, because lowest temperature of 19°c and highest of 25°c. And the fan speed is unjustable. Just to breath the window has to be open all the time. Sure I get it's 'environmently friendly' but it's not comfortable in any way. And the glass (at least in Family room) you can basically see through despite there being an attempt at art that blocks visibility. The minibar fridge isn't possible to change how cold it is, so you can't enjoy a super cold drink. Overall the room isn't enjoyable as the beds are hard and made my back hurt terribly each morning. I don't plan to ever stay at this Scandic Hotel again.

Google
A really good quality hotel located a 5 minute walk from Potsdsmer Platz Railway and U/S Bahn station. Only 1 minute from the U bahn at Mendehlsson Bartholy. The hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious and the staff were friendly. We didn't have breakfast here but there are many great local breakfast spots within 5 minute walk. There are also multiple great eateries within 10 minutes for dinner and a local Lidl for any on the go bits. The hotel bar doesn't open until 1700 however. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent experience at Scandic Berlin. We stayed for eight nights, and felt very much at home there. The rooms are modern, comfortable, spacious, and clean. We had the mini-suite which included a sofa bed as well as a king bed, which was perfect for three of us. Staff was so helpful and friendly, and English-fluent. There's an amazing breakfast buffet for a fee, and it's totally worth it. I would absolutely recommend it, and hope I can go back one day.

We stayed at the Scandic Berlin for one week. Our room was spacious and very clean. It had everything that we needed. Our room was on the 7th floor and was quiet. We were never disturbed. The hotel is a short walk from Potsdamer Platz U-Bahn station which lets you get everywhere quite easily.

Ok hotel. Good breakfast, nice rooms, good location...what else do we need? Only thing I didn't like to much was the bar in 3rd floor. I don't know why, but I didn't feel comfortable there.

My third time staying at this hotel. This time I got a room facing the central yard. It was very quiet and nice. Room extremely comfortable. Breakfast is amazing. So many options. The room gets busy though and it can be tricky to find a table.

Yelp
6/24/24 - I will post more items later. A photo of the small interior lobby. The line is long to check in as well. More to come. Will finish this after the stay. A total of 5 stars. Restaurant and bar on the 3rd floor. After the breakfast buffet which is 25 euro they close at 10am. Then only alcoholic drinks all day and night there. Lots of places to get to in less than 10 minutes. The underground train, U-Bahn, a small mall but with 2 levels and a grocery store inside. Walk to lots of food and shops in the way to the Mall of Berlin. 4 stories over there.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great and super pleasant stay. I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights while visiting Berlin with a friend. While checking in I asked for a room on the top floor which was done by the reception without any hesitation. Rooms are very clean, tidy and welcoming with beautiful bathrooms. The only thing that i could change is the mattresses on the beds as they were a bit too hard for my taste. Other than that everything was perfect. There is a gym on the top floor (8th floor), a restaurant/ bar on 3rd floor and a Holmes Place (pool and spa) on 1st floor which is directly connected with the hotel. Location is great, very close to Potsdamer Platz and Mendelsohn B. U-bahn for everyone using the underground in Berlin.

Yelp
Came to visit this Hotel because my Brother stayed here as well and he really liked it. Everything was very clean, modern interior, TV worked and Internet was fast. WiFi is free, and it better be. LOL. Anyways, it is the Location that makes this place perfect. I took off one Star because the Parking is a bit of a pain. You'll see. Check out the Breakfast Bar, it is awesome.

Yelp
Had a 4 night stay here recently and it was adequate, but nothing special. The positives, * moderately priced, * just steps to the nearest ubahn (U2 line) stop, a mall, and numerous restaurants. * Walking distance (10 minutes or so) to museums, checkpoint Charlie area, and the Brandenburg gate/Reichstag, and shopping. * Staff is very friendly :) , helpful, and English speaking * Large bank of elevators and whimsical atmosphere The "meh" * accommodations are just average (shower situation in our room was strange) * the location, while easily accessible, isn't very scenic or especially exciting. It's a relatively new area, but has the vibe of a drab business park and caters to a traveler more comfortable with chain restaurants and shops. The bad * inattentive room staff: you receive a complimentary bottle of water when you arrive, but that's the last one you'll get. All of the other hotels we stayed in during our trip replaced this daily, among other amenities. They also never filled the soap or shampoo dispensers in our shower. * climate control is limited and cumbersome. Granted it may not be an issue for some, but the weather was hit and muggy during our stay. To access the the AC you have to use the TV menu (wtf? How is that convenient?) in addition, it only allows you to adjust to 22c (71.2f). I set it yo its lowest setting and never once felt the benefit. It was uncomfortable without leaving the window wide open which lets in a lot of bright light and noise during the night * noise! Omg, as mentioned, if it's warm during your stay you'll need the windows open to sleep comfortably. There is a casino and a few major streets that seem to invite high performance (think modified and obnoxiously loud) cars and motorbikes to scream through the echoing canyon of buildings at all hours (primarily on the weekends). Throw in the frequent emergency vehicle siren and you've got a recipe for insomnia.(* note I lived in San Francisco proper and never had noise issues like these) * it's a busy hotel with a lot of conference traffic Overall, if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel, are comfortable with warmer/stagnant air at night or aren't affected by nightly drag races, than this hotel will suffice. But Berlin is simply massive, so you may want to research exactly what it is you most want from your trip and then find a hotel better situated (and with better accommodations) to match.

Yelp
Stayed in this hotel for 8 days with my partner. We booked the room through top secret hotels on lastminute and got an excellent price for it so it was excellent value for money. The room was clean, well designed and comfortable. The buffet style breakfast had a huge variety to choose from and was all fresh and high quality. The staff in the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. The only issue we found was room control/temperature, we had to leave the windows open at night as we could not sleep due to the room being too stuffy. The hotel location is very good as it is a five minute walk to Potsdamer Platz and it is less than a minute walk to the nearest metro station. Overall we had a very positive stay here and would certainly recommend it if you can get it at a good price.

Yelp
Not even worth a lot of words... bad service and they forget you and you have to wait for 2 hours. Don't recommend this hotel or restaurant. Especially bad if you speak English to them, they just nod and walk away. Very great (not really)

Yelp
Very nice hotel with comfortable rooms and convenient location. E had 2 adults and 2 children in our room. Great breakfast buffet during the week, somewhat smaller/limited on weekend. Near the U transit and close to buses, etc. Walking distance to Brandenburg gate, etc. The only negative I have is the air conditioning doesn't do anything. The "climate control" in the room let's you select your desired temperature but it doesn't change the actual temp in the room. We tried for a day and then just opened the window. Fortunately it was not too hot when we were here so that was ok for us but if it were any hotter I would have been very upset with the a/c. Closest laundromat is one subway stop away.

Yelp
It is everything it announces itself to be: Casual, Caring and Creative... There was nothing I could say bad about this place...because it's my kind of place. :)

Yelp
Hotel has one thing going for it. That is the location and it ends here. The check in and check out staff is the only thing cold you will get. The room was hot and ac is crap. The temp was set at 19 and it didn't even start or work to make room even remotely cooler. We had a terribly hot room. No sheets are given. Only thing provided was a comforter which we weren't able to use. The decor of the hallway appears as if you are in a children day care center. Room wall had scuff marks all over and is in dire need of paint job. Bathroom door is a thin glass and unlock-able. If you flush the toilet in night you will wake up your room mate. Pillows were the most uncomfortable we have encountered in a hotel in Europe. No hair conditioner or body lotion, not any other amenities besides towels are provided. The two plastic table set up as a night table were useless. In addition, the upselling during check in was tasteless. The receptionist tried to convince to upgrade us to a bigger room and breakfast which we were glad to decline, while the receptionist tried to use the most ridiculous strong arm tactics of telling us the price of breakfast would double if we didn't agree on the spot.

Yelp
The Scandic Hotel Berlin Potsdamer Platz is a wonderful building. Its all very new and very modern. I stayed in a single room which was a nice size for one person. The closet was a decent size and had hangers, a couple of shelves and a iron with ironing board. There were also several hooks inside the closet. The bathroom was really nice. Although the see-through sliding glass door took some getting used to the heated mirror was nice. It never fogged up. There was a hair dryer next to a rather large sink. The toilet was decent with a button on the wall for flushing. Ample towels were given and the water in the shower became hot rather quickly and had plenty of pressure. The bed was awesome. It had a very comfortable duvet and some of the softest comforters I have ever felt and there were two of them. There were ample outlets with three of them located at the desk area. The television was a flat screen 42" LG with available connections for HDMI, component and SD video. They're software was not great on the television, often I would have to reset the television in order to get the remote to work correctly. There was ample lighting in the room and the key card would turn the lights off when you left the room and when you came back and inserted it in its slot the lights would come back on. A very nice feature. The breakfast that was included in our stay was wonderful with lots of different foods to choose from. I had scrambled eggs and bacon, but there was also an assortment of yogurts, breads, cereals, jams, lunch meats, cheeses and butter. There were also different drinks available including any style of coffee from cappacinos to latte's to expresso's to just a plain cup of joe. There were also 4 or 5 different juices to choose from as well as milk or water. The staff at breakfast was friendly and quick and the front desk was always helpful. There was always someone there to take care of you and when there were more people waiting more staff would come from the back to help out. You could rent a bike where the first 4 hours were free. So essentially you could go for a free bike ride everyday. There was an electric car you could rent very cheaply as well. I had a nice stay for the week that I was there.

Yelp
This hotel tries to be something it isn't. Its shiny and pretty but seriously insufficient. I had to switch rooms 4 times, and you couldn't pay me to stay there again. One room smelled like a sewer, and they didn't have any types of air fresheners, one room had a bathroom faucet that literally spun around on the basin like the tin man from the wizard of oz. The staff was SUPER friendly, but they can only do so much. Maintenance should have been notified by housekeeping before guests were assigned these rooms. Probably the most alarming issue was after ordering food from the bar, I walked into the crowded room to pick up and was greeted by the bartender with, "hello, welcome...what can I get you?" I said I'd ordered room service and he said (for all to hear), "Oh, you're Mr. N******, from 8042." I was floored. I mentioned to him privately that this was not something he should have done, and he replied, "Well maybe you'd get a surprise later in your room - - you never know, this is Berlin." I told him the surprise might not be something I was interested in and he should be more responsible with client information. I literally hated my stay here, and would never stay with any Scandic property again because of these issues - - seriously, I couldn't be paid to.
