We spent eight nights at the Scandic Gamla Stan and really enjoyed jt. ||While it’s in Gamla Stan, it’s a couple of blocks away from the really popular shopping or dining streets. This means perfect access to the old|Town, without the noise or crowds later at night. The location is excellent for exploring other parts of the archipelago as it’s only a couple of block to the bus, ferry, and metro. ||Our room (standard king) was clean and very comfortable, with an excellent bed and water pressure. Towels and waste were serviced daily and cleaning and linen changes are by request. If you’re scent-sensitive however, you’ll want to bring your own shampoo, conditioner and soap as the provided ones are strongly scented. R||We included breakfast with our stay and it was fresh and of very high quality with enough choices we didn’t get bored over our stay. The staff at breakfast, along with at the front desk, were friendly and helpful. ||The rooftop patio is also quite nice for a morning coffee. ||We would absolutely return or recommend this hotel to others.

Enjoyed our stay at Scandic Gamla Stan. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Our room was on 4th floor, it was quiet, overlooking the rooftops. It was a good size, with tea/coffee making, and a table and chairs. Plenty of hanging and drawer space. ||The location was perfect. Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and within walking distance of tour boats, cathedral and Royal Palace. Definitely recommended.

Great location for walking to stores and restaurants. Some of the front staff were extremely accommodating and there were others who were not. The best part of our stay was the breakfast. Oscar was amazing, accommodating and very kind. He would be one of the top reasons we would stay there again! Another plus is there was ice on the main floor in the hallway and a really great rooftop location to sit on the fourth floor. Beds are extremely comfortable, but truthfully most beds in the Scandinavian countries I’ve been to are. Remember, there is no air conditioning. We just asked for another fan and we were fine. :-)

Breakfast was fantastic, chef most helpful. Service and staff were very nice and friendly. Great location. Would stay again. Shower space was very small/narrow (Standard Double room), not sure if a bigger person would fit in there. Nice terrace for an afternoon drink (bring your own).

A great hotel, perfect location just by the old town but peaceful, excellent transport links (bus, train, ferry) to all attractions. Room small but comfortable, very good shower. Breakfast was truly excellent in variety and quality, hats off to the friendly breakfast chef for whom nothing was too much trouble. All the hotel staff were helpful and friendly. The rooftop terrace was delightful. Excellent value. Hopefully we will be back.

The room is very clean and i want to compliment the chef, Oscar who is very thoughtful and care about the guests, he made vegetarian sausages for us ( my friends and I are muslims ladies), the sausages are amazing and super delicious, better than the normal chicken sausages!! We can see that he is very passionate about cooking, he loves his job and care about the guests. He made my stay very pleasant as this is our 1st time in Stockholm for ladies trip! I love all the staffs too, they are very helpful and friendly! All of them made the trip to sweden very enjoyable! But if there’s room for improvement, i suggest to put some packages of tea bags n electric kettle if u can. Thank you! 5/5 stars! 👍🏻👍🏻

Excellent location, very clean, small boutique stylish hotel. Staff is very helpfull & friendly. Breakfast was plenty and wasn’t expencive to buy on the other morning too (24€). On arrival we had a long day ahead and got our room earlier than normal which was so nice. Room and bathroom was very clean & fresh - quite small but we managed perfectly with two big suitcases 😄

Such a nice and cosy hotel in the very heart of Stockholm. Easy to get by subway and bus- local SL transport also brings you from Gamla stan to the island if museums by a public ferry. There is a secret terrace on the 4th floor. Hopefully the plastic flowers there will be changed to the fresh live local ones for the warm season.

Yelp
We have loved our stay here: Magnus, Kamil (sp?), and all the staff go above and beyond to be helpful. The shower in our room is, no kidding, the best I've used in my 64 yrs. Our first morning, we anticipated a basic continental breakfast. Instead we got love: Chef Oscar and his staff prepare a buffet with eggs cooked in marvelous ways, meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereals, vegetables, fruits -- and more than I can recall now -- plus many delicious options for every kind of eater (regular, vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free). With such a good start, you can easily go without eating again until supper, giving you more time, feeling great, to see and do everything you want. Our room is small by US standards, but it has and does everything we need. We can exercise, get work done, and have slept beautifully. Everything important for a beautiful stay is in this historic building, located IN Gamla Stan and modernized enough to be squeaky clean and efficient.More

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for five nights. The front desk staff is excellent. However the room is small and the bathroom is tiny. It is in great need of an upgrade. Even a new coat of paint in the bedroom would make a big difference. In the bathroom it is hard to move without bumping into either the tub, the toilet, or the sink. The floor has a pronounced slope so if you drop a marble at one end it will roll to the door in no time. The futon mattress was not comfortable and any movement in the bed would shake the entire frame. One morning we had no hot water and had to take cold showers. The breakfast buffet was good but nowhere near as lavish as what we found in Norway for a comparable cost. The breakfast chef was excellent and very accommodating. Since the dining room was small you must make a reservation for your 45 minute time slot for every breakfast. The elevator was only large enough for baggage. The tightly wound steep stone stairs to our 3rd floor room were probably original from the 17th century. Although the hotel was rather full, our room was quiet at night.

Yelp
Great location in Gamla Stan! The hotel is in an historic & charming building within walking distance of shopping, restaurants & bars. The desk attendant was friendly & helpful with recommendations & for calling taxis. A very nice breakfast was included in our package. We enjoyed our stay very much & would return.

Yelp
We'd booked at a different hotel through Booking.com, but when we arrived, they explained that they had a couple arrive who they couldn't turn away, so they'd gotten us a room here instead. We handled all the payment at the original hotel, and the owner of that hotel walked us down to Scandic to confirm the arrangement. The desk clerk when we checked in was very friendly, checking our IDs, explaining the wifi and breakfast. He apologized that there wasn't a bar as the hotel is owned by the Salvation Army. The room was small, but clean and well-decorated. The bathroom was one of the nicest of the trip in that the shower doors fully isolated it from the rest of the bathroom (seriously, I'm the ugly American who soaked every other bathroom, no matter how hard I tried to aim the handle only at myself). Breakfast was delicious, though the spacing and alignment of the buffet made for some cozying up to strangers. The morning clerk wasn't quite as friendly, but unlocked the luggage closet for storage. All in all, a well-appointed, well-located, clean space in Gamla Stan.

Yelp
The Rica Hotel in Gamla Stan is great if you are visiting Stockholm for the first time. The rooms are very cute, the beds are comfortable as well! The breakfast is great as well; so many types of foods which includes Swedish specialties. My only complaint is that the sink was clogged; we informed the staff but it was not fixed during the stay. You can walk to anywhere in the Old Town, and can also walk to the other islands as well. I didn't have to take public transportation. The hotel is also close to the Central Train Station. If you don't like to walk a lot, the subway station is 2 blocks away. I would stay here again!
