Scandic Grand Tromsø

We had a great one-night stay! Large room on the top floor. Clean - no complaints. Very welcoming and helpful reception. Breakfast on par with other Scandic hotels - large buffet. Would stay again. Also right in the center of town!

It was well located. Short distance to the mall and the restaurants. Just cross the road round the corner is the hardrock cafe.||We were upgraded and got a suite room. It was snowing heavily the morning we arrived, so everywhere was white and can be dangerous if you don't have boots has no spikes. But the scene was awesome.||Room was warm, clean and comfortable. Things in the hotel is basic.||We were there was for aurora but I think in the city itself, it's kind of too bright to see. We didn't get to see any on the only night we stayed because it was snowing all day. It would probably be a good view from the room if the aurora is stronger and more intense. It would be nice to be back to the hotel just for its location and comfortable

We had a good couple of nights in the Scandic Grand Hotel. The hotel is well located in the city center, just a few minutes’ walk from the waterfront and tons of shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. There is a large parking garage about 2 minutes walk away but it is quite pricey at over 400NOK per day. The main entrance and reception to the hotel is rather unimpressive, just a set of doors unceremoniously located on a side street. The reception area is cramped, lacking the space required for people to check in and out comfortably. It always seemed to be crowded and a bottleneck whenever we entered the hotel. There was also a lack of sufficient lifts during busy times. Even though we were on the 8th floor, it was sometimes much easier to just take the stairs. Our room was nice, of average size, with an amazing view over the city and surrounding mountains. Everything was clean, bright, modern, and comfortable with good storage space and we were happy we had a mini-fridge in the room. The TV and internet both worked well. My main complaint with the room was that it was uncomfortably hot with no way to cool it down – there was no AC available and the window only opened a crack. I ended up having to go down and ask for a fan so I could get to sleep. The breakfast was excellent – a huge variety of hot and cold dishes – and plenty of sitting space in the restaurant. One of the best aspects of this hotel was the complimentary use of a nearby commercial gym, Sky Fitness, a few minutes walk away. It is a very well equipped 24/7 gym located on the waterfront. Overall we had a good stay and would definitely recommend it to other travellers.

Be sure not to book your stay during the weekend, as the hotel's ground floor is apparently the city's most popular night club and open until 3.00 a.m., and therefore you're guaranteed to get absolutely no sleep until the nightclub closes. It's ridiculous. We did get a partial refund for the nightclub noise after considering to cancel our second night at the hotel.||Breakfast is busy and you might not be able to get a table until after waiting for some time. There's also no dedicated parking and you may need to park your car at a nearby parking house for about 350NOK / day. ||On a positive note, the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean and nice.

Good for business trips. Rooms are a bit worn and my room had vary little bathroom space for makeup and such so I didn't really like it. But the service was nice. Location is golden.

We liked the hotel very much indeed the view from the room was really beautiful the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. The breakfast at the hotel was very enjoyable and excellent choice was available . All staff in the hotel were very friendly and efficient. The bus from the airport stops right outside very convenient. The only negative was it was Easter and the hotel restaurant and bar were closed which was very disappointing as we had not been told before we arrived otherwise would give hotel 5 stars

I have been at this hotel several times before, and I have always enjoyed staying here. My room was at the 7th floor, and I had a great view. The hotel is located very central, and it is close to shops, the mall, bars, restaurants, tourist information, cinema, library and a lot of other nice places.

The family room is considered big for a family of 4. The view from. 8th floor is amazing. Toilet is huge. You can find a car park less than 100 meter/2 minutes walk. Download the easy park app and pay. Pretty straightforward. Overall, I am happy with the price and stay.
