Er stayed one night at Scandic Hamburg Emporio and had a very good experience overall. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and smooth. We had connecting rooms, which worked well for our family. The rooms were clean, modern, and nicely designed. The hotel itself feels fresh and well-maintained. Parking was easy and the price fair. The breakfast buffet was good – a wide variety of options with something for everyone, including kids. The location is excellent – very central, close to shops, parks, and public transport, but still quiet and calm. A couple of downsides: We had booked a room with a city view but were placed on the first floor facing a courtyard – a bit disappointing. The elevators were also very slow and made it frustrating to get to the parking garage. Lastly, the key cards didn’t always work, but since we stayed on the first floor, it was manageable. All in all, a great hotel for a city break in Hamburg – clean, central, and family-friendly. Would stay again!

I've stayed at Scandic Hamburg Emporio over the last few years. About 2-3 ish years, the first time I ever went here they tried to be the best possible. This hotel has a lounge program that not every Scandic hotel has. The first time I got here there were signs everywhere to call a specific line to the reception and they would immediately refill the lounge. Just a year after, they removed that. It became slower, not as much either. Now they don't even refill the food, and you pay a sum of money to get to be in the lounge, it's now who gets first to snatch it all, and the others that paid for it has nothing to grab. The hotel is near the center and easy access to everything. If you're a Scandic member you can get a 1-3 free alcohol-free drinks. The rooms aren't really update or feeling "luxurious or premium" as they advertise. It's okay but not what you expect from their advertising. And a issue I had when arriving when I came last. Was that I arrived at night and the machine wouldn't print a ticket to let me drive down into the underground garage, so I had to click the button to call to the building. And the first person that I talked to didn't care that I'm a disabled person and that the disabled parking spaces are almost never used. And then he laid off, and I went through another 3 people before 1 finally did open the gate. And when I drove down there was 8 parking spaces that belonged to the Scandic hotel that was free and including the disabled parking spot. And I talked to the reception and they had the audacity to say that the parking spaces were "reserved". Even though I was here many times before and they said you cannot reserve a parking space before or during a stay. Yet they say that to me. The food quality has gone down, the lounge has just gotten worse, over time they removed things and lowered the quality of things. The breakfast down by the lobby is okay, though it also has suffered the same. Corners cut, quality gone down. And also food that has disappeared. My opinion of being here a ton of times, is I wouldn't say this hotel is really worth the price. They always find ways to limit what they say is unlimited. Rooms are small. Often broken and or things missing, they don't seem to care that everything is working and not looking like the hotel came just out of building.

Had a fantastic stay! The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The location is perfect – close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Yelp
I stayed here for work once and it left an impression on me. The design is so sleek and modern, without being too cold. It's the kind of hotel where you will feel silly if you're in like, sweatpants. So you may want to dress just a tad nicer! Seems to be a lot of business people here. Besides the room, I loved the bar. It feels like a fun place to hang out. It's not stuffy and awkward like a lot of hotel bars. Though the immediate location may feel a bit empty, it's actually super close walking distance to everything. Fast walk to the river and historic area. I would love to stay here again.

Yelp
A very nice, simple minimalist designed hotel centrally located. My company has a special corporate rate as the office is within the Emporio high rise. Pluses: The mattress was on the thinner side but comfortable. I've heard that they have a small gym, however, during my entire stay the gym was closed for renovations. They did have the option of the use of nearby hotel gyms, but with how cold the weather was I refrained. The room size was large including the bathroom with a large shower tub combo. Room was nice and clean too! The breakfast buffet was 12 Euro but pretty extensive with fruits, meats, eggs, pancakes, pastries, cereals, yogurt, etc. The H2O Restaurant & Bar had very affordable glasses of wine. Small refrigerator in the room. The heater kept me very very warm! Good curtains to keep out the light. My taxi was ready pretty much right outside after the front desk hung up the phone. Friendly staff. Location! Free wifi for multiple devices. Minuses: I was surprised to see that the comforters are so short here though! They are also separated by side (think two twin comforters for a king size bed) so one person gets one each. Luckily I was by myself, so I used both. They included for the bathroom - hand soap and built in bottles of shampoo and condition by Face Stockholm. I was surprised to see no hair conditioner though. And the shampoo left my hair a little flat. The lights are turned on and turned off by your keycard by inserting it in the slot by the door...all the lights! This was a pain honestly. There were times there was hallway noise, I think they may have staff working even in the middle of the night? I would give it a 3.5 but rounding up due to the fact I had a few more pluses rather than minuses. It's about a 10 minute or so walk from the majority of things to do (i.e. sightseeing attractions and shopping), but is located near some great restaurants, Rossmans, coffee shops and right next to the U-Bahn. Also, be forewarned the elevators here have blue lighting, which is trippy and not be a good idea to be drunk when staying here. The Scandic is a good option for staying in Hamburg...now if only they could get different comforters.

Yelp
Great hotel! Cosy rooms! Amazing ambience in the H2O Bar and Lounge. Friendly staffs. Got ourselves White Russian and some Citrus cocktails. Pretty good. Wished the cream in the White Russian was creamier

Yelp
This is a very nice hotel in a good location. The rooms are new and finished to a high standard. The free WiFi allows you to have up to 4 devices associated with your room. Finally someone gets the idea that travellers will have more than one WiFi device. Breakfast in the restaurant was quite reasonable. I would gladly come back if I came back to Hamburg.

Yelp
I was just looking for a convenient and affordable hotel for a quick weekend in Hamburg but was pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The facilities seemed very new, modern and clean - access to bikes, gym (clean & cool [A/C]), bar/restaurant downstairs. I did happen to feel like I was entering a club every time I entered the blue-lit elevators. I loved how there was a lot of natural light in the room and the decor was bright and inviting. I was particularly excited about the shelves and large mirror that were in the entryway/outside the bathroom. I was able to have all of my toiletries neatly organized and I could comfortably get ready for my day there while the boyfriend was in the bathroom. We did not feel cramped at all. Great, central location but Hamburg in general was very walkable for the two of us. Highly recommend for a stay in the city.

Yelp
On a recent trip to Hamburg, I had difficulty finding a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't 5-10 miles outside of the city center. At 189€ for one night, Scandic wasn't necessarily a bargain, but it was the cheapest room I could find. The Good: -Excellent Location: Mere feet from the Gänsemarkt U-Bahn station, the hotel is easily accessible from the Hauptbahnhof and Airport without using taxis. Additionally, it is an easy walk to the Alster and a short U-Bahn ride to the Reeperbahn and the waterfront. -New Hotel: The hotel feels brand new and very modern. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. The Meh: -Questionable value: 189€ was the cheapest place I could find in Hamburg and thankfully the great features of the hotel made that an easier price to swallow. However, I stayed in hotels just as nice in Stuttgart and Heidelberg for 100€ less per night. The Bad: -Lack of A/C: This probably isn't a big deal most of the time, but when I was visiting the temperatures were in the 80 degree range and having open windows just didn't cut it! Especially for the price of the room I was disappointed that I couldn't get the ambient air to a comfortable level.

Yelp
The Scandic Enporio is part of a Hotel chain, and when your here for business or even a causal visit, it's probably one of the better options to go with. I've stayed at the Scandic at Berlin as well, and the rooms have always been clean, they have nice courteous staff and a splendid breakfast spread. I loved the view from my room and enjoyed my stay overall.

Yelp
Recently I had the opportunity to visit Hamburg Germany on Business. Since the firm I was traveling for was paying for my trip, I was not able to pick my hotel. That said I stayed at the Scandic Hamburg Emporio located at Dammtorwall 19, 20355 Hamburg, Germany. Once one arrives in historic Hamburg you can see the architecture and early Europe in all its glory until you turn the corner and you see a modern white glass building. It is actually an ideal location right on the Gansemart and a hop-skip and jump from the City's congress center I checked in with ease and was given my standard room. The theme of the hotel was water. There were dolphins' designs on the carpets in the halls and the sound of water everywhere. The elevators were really Kool with water sounds and blue lit ceilings that got lighter as you went up floors. My room was not large by any means but perfect for a single or couple that is traveling. Decorated in a "Scandinavian "design, there was ample open closet space with one drawer that contained extra towels. There was floor to ceiling windows that accented the wood floors. One thing that I as an American am not used to is putting your room key in a slot inside your room to turn it on. After five minutes of detective work I figured that one out. The beds were split kings that I feared slipping between as they did not seem anchored. The bath was your typical European design with ample space, the shower was spacious and clean. I do have to say that twice in the week; I lost all water while showering that can be a pain. There is free WIFI as well as well as a small refrigerator. The desk area was too low. The regular chair and the level it was at I felt as though I was in second grade again. Other than the water and the desk, It was just perfect. The H2O bar area was somewhat typical for a hotel but I must say they pour a good drink. I would be amiss not to mention one very beautiful waitress that looked like an early Hedi Klum. She was pleasant and friendly taking those moments to interact with her customers. She did on many occasions point us to restaurants and kiosks in the area that tourists like us were looking for. The restaurant was open a spacious with great coffee and a buffet that would impress even Donald Trump. There was the hot food and the cold food with plenty of smoked and fresh fish, many more pastries and of course yogurt and granola. So I can say we are worlds apart when it comes to hotels. It was wonderful to be in this world and experience this wonderful place.

Yelp
I adore this place but it's not for everyone. For business reasons I travel a lot and this often means "design" hotels with lots of comfort and little extras, however it usually also means small-ish dark rooms with small windows, weirdly painted walls (who came up with the idea of dark grey walls in a small hotel room???), not enough artificial light either, and you have to sort of figure out where all the hidden buttons for blinds and lights are and which way around the hot and cold water is because putting a red and blue dot somewhere would not be design enough. Soooo in comparison the Scandic reminds me of IKEA in the best possible way - bright, friendly and simple while still maintaining a high standard, the rooms with their blue curtains and light wood always feel very welcoming to me. It's pricey - overpriced actually but you can usually find a deal somewhere - so I tend to look for deals and twice ended up with a family room - huge rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and as much light as you can possibly ask for. I haven't tried the breakfast so cannot say if it is good or bad. There is no room service or minibar (you can order a pizza and pick it up downstairs), instead a little shop next to reception with travel necessities and some sandwiches and soft drinks and if you want a drink you have to go to the bar :-) Personally this does not bother me but if you like to eat in your room you might find it inconvenient. WiFi is free which in many German hotels is still not the norm, so that's a nice plus. The only thing I miss a little is storage space, I like to unpack whenever I stay more than one night and there's some shelves but no proper wardrobe. It's still my go-to since I mostly want space, light and cleanliness in my room and on that count the Scandic is perfect!
