Yelp
Really a 3.5.
I attended a meeting here that took place over a few days where the topic was ironically, luxury adventure travel. The Scandic Homenkollen Park was a decent host with both hits and misses.
HITS: The entrance and main lobby to the hotel was beautiful and welcoming.
The food served at breakfasts, the included lunches, cocktail party and the farewell dinner were all very very good. The meeting room set up was comfortable and run well. Lots of us commented that the one big culinary surprise was how good the reindeer main dish was at our dinner. I loved the bed in my room with the double separate duvets (I must be in Europe!) - the rest of the room, not so much - see below. Wifi worked well.
MISSES: Many of us ended up in very small, dark rooms. Very basic. If there was a room safe, I couldn't find it easily. After I checked in, I had a really hard time finding my room. I asked several housecleaning staff for help, and I was sent down long corridors to no avail. We had lunch one day at the dining area near the main lobby. Service was pretty atrocious and unfriendly.
Overall, it served as it was meant to be - a conference hotel.
