Scandic Kødbyen

A fine hotel, placed next to the city center and main train station. I love that there are parking places for bikes and plenty of facilities inside and outside the hotel. I was attending an event so I cannot rate the rooms. The caffe and tea selection are wonderful, while the food served was so and so. There were no spoons nor cutlery, and how else could we eat the yoghurt? Also, the bread and croissants were not fresh at all. The design of meeting rooms is very nice, and authentic.

We stayed here in late December 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk straight down the street from Dybbølsbro rail station, which is the very next stop after Copenhagen Central Station. Super easy to find and very well connected. We truly enjoyed the sweet Scandinavian design, warm hospitality, and overall cozy atmosphere. Our room was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with a chill area that included a sofa, a small table, and two comfortable armchairs—perfect for relaxing after a day out. A nice little detail: next to the reception there’s a scale where you can weigh your luggage, which is really handy before traveling (see photo). The only downside was that the room came with just one keycard. If one person leaves, the other is left without lights or electricity, and if you go out without the keycard, you can’t use the elevator 😕. Come on, guys—this is an easy fix. If you gonna stay here - just ask for 2 cards if you are not provided. Gym is small but has all you need for basic training. That said, we were so inspired by our stay that I simply can’t rate this hotel anything less than 5 out of 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Highly recommended!

A property comparison for global travelers looking for an equivalent Marriott option would be Moxy. It's fine, but not nearly as nice as the photos on the website. The lobby and bar area are nice, but the rooms are nothing special. Even the 'superior' room option doesn't have a functional desk. There's a great additional seating area in the room but not an ergonomic spot to work if that's something you need to do. The bed is quite comfortable, a nice mattress topper on some kind of foam mattress. Soft but still supportive. They're an eco friendly hotel, which means you're on your own if you typically try to use the built in room fan for some white noise. There's no way to override any of the controls on the thermostat to have a fan running to try and recirculate or bring in fresh air, and you're unable to switch from heating to cooling (or the inverse) if your room isn't in an acceptable range for your preferred temperature. The TV has less than 10 channels available, and although they tout the ability to connect your own devices it's a very poor setup for HDMI access on the TV, nor does the TV itself have any built-in streaming options. It is well situated for many great restaurants, shopping, and easy access to public transportation.

Really nice hotel. Has a small shop, gym & restaurant. Good breakfast selection. Bar area always seemed busy so had a good vibe. Bed was very comfortable. Thoroughly recommend. Around ten minute walk from the Central train station.

In a great location, easy to walk to everything and in the buzzing meatpacking district with lots of really good options for food and drink. The staff are all lovely and very helpful. The bar in the hotel had a cosy feel and a good selection of drinks. The rooms in the hotel were modern, clean, quite and just what you need for a city break.

Absolutely amazing hotel, we had a problem with our toilet and they changed our rooms straight away, staff very helpful. It has a beautiful atmosphere and very easy to commute, our first time in Copenhagen and it couldn’t have been this great without such a beautiful hotel, can not fault it at all. You feel safe and everybody is friendly and helpful, we will be back, thank you so much for this wonderful experience…and the rooms are absolutely beautiful and so clean

Nice hotel in a nice part of town. I believe the location is better than the Scandic palace right in the centre. If you want to be right in the middle of lots of people and a very tourist area then the Palace may be the better option.|This is right next to the meat packing district and there are lots of fab cafes, restaurants., pubs etc but all spread out amongst residential buildings. Only about a 16mm walk to the central station and Tivoli. Perfect.|Felt really safe. Lots of bikes.|Bike riders please note …. They actually stop at lights and crossings unlike in the uk. |Most bikes aren’t even locked up which shows the level of trust and lack of crime. What a wonderful city to live in. People all really friendly.|Beautiful looking apartments.|The hotel has a great Breakfast with lots of options and seems well run.|Don’t expect massive rooms, but they are practical with a nice shower.

Within reasonable walking distance of city center and public transportation. Immediate area around the hotel is lively but with some sketchy spots late a night. Good service from the front desk to the restaurant. Clean and comfortable basic room. The hotel is big and can be quite a trek depending on where your room is located from the elevator. While the lobby is bright and open the upper floors with the rooms are very dim, almost dark, due to a complete lack of windows in the hallway. Not an issue once in your room since the windows are large and the rooms bright.

Adam H and I recently stayed here on our Scandinavian vacation. The location of this hotel was perfect for us being in the trendy meat packing district, but I wouldn't recommend for families or travelers not wanting to spend time in this area, because it was a good walk (or bike ride) to several other touristy areas of the city. Pros: 1. Wifi was good, as long as you signed in again every 12 hours 2. Free breakfast 3. Fun location in the meat packing district, near lots of bars and restaurants (War Pigs, Fermentator, etc...) 4. Friendly staff Cons: 1. We had some issues with our shower drain and housekeeping and had to ask numerous times for assistance 2. Breakfast options were somewhat limited, and it was a little confusing at first if we were to seat ourselves or wait for staff 3. Not very close to many of the tourist attractions in the city - about 10-15 minute walk to Central Station and Tivoli, and everything else was father than that 4. Bike rental was fairly expensive 5. No refrigerator in the room 6. Close to a grocery store Overall, we were happy with our stay, but this hotel is not for everyone.

I planned on staying next week but circumstances out of my control forced me to cancel my international trip. I've spoken to a handful of front desk staff and all have been extremely rigid and unaccommodating. They'll likely rebook my room to someone else while I'm out $500 USD for a three-night stay I cannot use.

First time in Copenhagen. I'm used to smaller everything in Europe. The rooms were quite nice and the standard room was larger than I was expecting. There are no sports channels on their TV. But the ladies behind the desk are exemplary. They are very nice and incredibly helpful. I would single one or two out but they were all great. The restaurant was very good and I almost never say that about an on-property restaurant. But try the SASHI ribeye. Yum.

My wife and I booked a room for early June 2020 a while back at Kodbyen to stay one night following a Baltic Cruise. We had no intention of canceling until the Corona Virus resulted in the cruise and all our flights from the US being canceled. Despite the virus nearly affecting 2600 Danes, killing 77 of its citizens, and despite we can't get to Denmark, the Scandic Kodbyen says "No DIce" in returning our deposit. How insensitive and inflexible can the personnel of this hotel be!!?? As an important aside, the entire Hilton Hotel chain just announced complete refunds for anyone who booked a hotel through June 30th, no excuses, no exceptions. I urge anyone interesting in Scandic Kodbyen to book elsewhere. If they treat guests like this during a crisis, think about how they would treat you when it's over if extenuating circumstances changed your travel plans?
