I arrived to Kristiansund by bus, I was sleeping at the time, woke up, put on my jacket, collected my suitcase, got my bearings, started to walk towards my hotel (Not the Scandic hotel) when my heart sunk, I had forgotten my backpack with my passport and wallet in the bus. After a moment of panic, I tried to get a taxi on a Norwegian taxi app to the terminus (which was two stops ahead from where I stopped) as I didn't know the layout of the city. Unfortunately, the timer kept going round and round but wouldn't find a taxi. I started panicking again as I know that the bus would just let passengers alight at the terminus, the new passengers would get on and the bus would just leave again. That's when I spotted the Scandic hotel, I went to the reception I explained my situation (and how stupid I felt) and asked if they could book my a taxi, which Anne, the receptionist, very kindly did. While I was waiting for the taxi outside, Anne came out and asked me to follow her to her car as she had called the company and the bust had just left the station and we were going to try and catch it. Very soon we saw the bus but, unfortunately, Kristiansund only has one lane of traffic each way and the traffic was heavy so Anne couldn't overtake the bus, so we had to follow until, after quite a while, there was someone waiting for the bus and I could jump from the car and retrieve my backpack from the bus.||After that, had I been able to change my travel plans I would have definitely stayed at this hotel and when (not if) I return to Kristiansund I will definitely stay in this hotel.||If this is how the kind of customer service they offer to someone who wasn't staying with them, I can only imagine how good it must be if you are a guest.||Anne if you read this I couldn't check in into the hotel, as I said I would, since I couldn't change my plans but I hope you got what I left with Reception for you to thank you.
