Scandic Nidelven

Came by car, easy to park in the underground parking lot at the train station not far away, Was in Olavshallen in the evening, and it was a short walk from the hotel. We were looking forward to the breakfast, and it was absolutely great! Can be recommended. Started early in the morning, and enjoyed it for a long time!

Nice location and superb breakfast. Just be careful to book a room with a sea view, otherwise you'll find yourself facing the opposite room or even the lobby interior! The first room we checked in was outdated with a window facing the hotel's corridor. The second was renovated with a sea view at a higher price. Staff was OK, without being especially friendly or helpful. Good in general but pretty basic.

Very centrally located, right on the river and a short walk from the central station, the breakfast is everything you hope and expect. Rooms are perfectly fine and nice. Beds are great.

Love the location and breakfast. Well-deserved best breakfast buffet in Norway (but do try Britannia if you get the chance). But I am disenchanted by the rooms. Much of the interior seems slightly worn down. Doorways dirty and scraped, in dire need of a new layer of paint. Bathroom with tiles that could do a thorough scrubbing, though still very much OK. The TV is large and works well, but the cable salad is just ugly. I wonder if ongoing maintenance is difficult to perform without a costly closing of a floor or section, maybe. But for me as a guest I feel the lack of attentiveness to detail.

Finding anything to complain about this hotel when accommodating during a work trip is impossible. The breakfast is spectacular, and I recommend using the time for breakfast as much as possible. The little gym was also handy and accessible for all who stayed in this hotel.

Superior room had a door to a neighbor room so I could hear every move of the neighbors. It was not clean enough and garbage was still in the room after previous guests. Bathroom smelled and water barely runned.||||Lady on the breakfast that prepared a coffee on 9.09.2025 was not polite and that was comment by other guests than only me. ||||

The Scandic Nidelven was a great place to stay. Everything was beautiful and it was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and it even had a machine that fresh-squeezed orange juice on demand.

The breakfast at this hotell is well known and live up to its reputation! The hotell itself is ideally located and its easy to walk to the most beautiful places in Trondheim.
