Scandic Nidelven

Came by car, easy to park in the underground parking lot at the train station not far away, Was in Olavshallen in the evening, and it was a short walk from the hotel. We were looking forward to the breakfast, and it was absolutely great! Can be recommended. Started early in the morning, and enjoyed it for a long time!

Nice location and superb breakfast. Just be careful to book a room with a sea view, otherwise you'll find yourself facing the opposite room or even the lobby interior! The first room we checked in was outdated with a window facing the hotel's corridor. The second was renovated with a sea view at a higher price. Staff was OK, without being especially friendly or helpful. Good in general but pretty basic.

Depends what's important for your stay on how you'd rate this hotel...|The breakfast is great. Lots of choices. Couldn't fault it.|The bedrooms though are really poor. No view, just looked out to a wall of other rooms. Very gloomy and little light. Bed uncomfortable and room felt dated and totally out of keeping to a very modern hotel if just looked at the foyer & restaurant areas.|Shame.

Finding anything to complain about this hotel when accommodating during a work trip is impossible. The breakfast is spectacular, and I recommend using the time for breakfast as much as possible. The little gym was also handy and accessible for all who stayed in this hotel.

Horrible rooms that faced the lobby. I booked this room months ago via Scandinavian directly and when I checked in for my stay they gave me one of the few standard rooms that faced the lobby. Your window looks directly at the lobby area. You have no light in the room since the window blind has to be kept closed. These rooms (i think there are only like 4-8 of them should not be given out unless the hotel is fully booked. In my case I shouldn’t have gotten it since I booked so far in advance. If you get one of these rooms I would ask for another. Breakfast is good. There is a lot of options to choose from. Some are very good and some are just ok. For example they have nice smoked salmon but somewhere else in the buffet has lesser quality salmon. Overall its a nice buffet

The Scandic Nidelven was a great place to stay. Everything was beautiful and it was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and it even had a machine that fresh-squeezed orange juice on demand.

Room was clean and ok for 3 people. Shower gel bottle was empty. We asked for a quiet room, but there was some noise from the outside. Breakfast was excellent! And location is good, near the railway station.
