Scandic St Jörgen

A major disappointment. The lobby looked promising and gives the impression of atleast a three star hotel, but once you get up to the rooms, this façade falls apart. I know I booked a windowless room, so I wasn’t shocked by the lack of light but the lack of basic items like hand soap and shower gel/body wash was unacceptable. It is like the room was not prepared in advance. When I noticed that there was no shower gel I asked reception and they l said they would take care of it, but nothing happened. Additionally, I found it strange that there was no phone in the room either, so you’re left with no way to ask for help. It seemed almost intentional. What bothered me most, however, was the hygiene: the top sheet seemed clean, but the bed skirt had strange stains on them and looked like it has never been washed. On top of that, there were exposed sprinklers in the ceiling, which I found unsettling and gave the room an unfinished feel. The room itself felt bare and claustrophobic, more like a cheap motel than a hotel, and far below what I expect. I do not recommend this hotel. My hope is that they immediately review their cleaning standards, basic amenities, and guest service and that the rooms are properly finished in a way that feels safe and reassuring.

Great location for the centre of town. Within walking distance of all things in the centre of Malmo. Rooms were small, but comfortable and clean. Reception was welcoming and friendly on our arrival. Breakfast had plenty of food choices and was worth having before going out to explore.

Nice hotel, clean room and comfy bed. Breakfast was good. The location was perfect, right in the center of the shopping district. I went in early December so the Christmas village was set up and walkable distance.

Regular customer of Scandic Hotels and Scandic S:t Jorgen in Malmö, it is always a pleasure to stay there ; everything was fine. The last changes of the Scandic Friends Program make it worse than before, it isn't transparent anymore, now the price of the room is separated from the price of the breakfast and this hides the increase in room prices. During the weekend, it's always difficult to find a free table to take the breakfast, even if you booked your hour before, some people had a red token to put on the table to show it's occupied, but nobody gave one to me! At the men's sauna, only one shower was in function, the second doesn't exist anymore, even the water pipes were cut. The staff is very helpful at the reception.

We stayed with our family for 5 nights (9/8-14/8) in a family suite. Nice, big and clean room with a good bed and nice view! We were in Malmö during the festival (9/8-15/8). Nice festival spread all over the city, but also very crowdy in the centre. It was very hot in the city (28°) and also in our room. Airconditioning is realy necessary (because of the heat and the fact that you can't sleep with open windows (during the festivaldays because of the noise on the street).||The Scandic-crew was very nice and helpful.||The hotel is well located!||You can park under the hotel. Easy and fast (not cheap)||Like always the Scandic-breakfast was exceptional good and the breakfastcrew was super! (One extra coffeemachine with beans woud be nice for everyone)||Can I give one note/tip? Do something with the bar. Make it more lightful! Paint it white, put the bar in the middle.... less seats... less is more... and do happyhour!||We come back!

Hotel is a great place close (or even next to) the city center. The service was outstanding and very friendly. Breakfast was greatly prepared and served. And for 1 person a small romm is more than enough. Room was super clean and welcomming

Lovely staff overall, service minded and the room was nice and cleaned in a calm part of the hotel.||||Even if Scandic standard breakfast it felt something extra, nothing was missing, much to choose from. The cappuccino was on of the best I have tasted on a hotel breakfast. ||||And the location was also perfect in the city and near the train station when travelling to Copenhagen airport.||||Highly recommended!

Pros: - Basic room in the heart of the city. - Lots of choices for the paid breakfast. Cons: - The bathroom was a real biohazard with the risk of getting infected. Poop stains on the toiled and the sink, walls and the glasses on the sink were full of blood. - When mentioning the cleanliness issues to the reception we didn't get more than sorry.

I am super satisfied with my stay. Friendly staff. Great location. Decent rooms. If you are used to Scandic you will not be disappointed. You know what you get. And you will be happy to hear they actually have towels for the bathroom floor!! Not always the fact in Scandics I have noticed recently. Environmental toiletteries - meaning no small bottles. Bring conditioning though - long hair will not like the schampoo. Parking under the hotel is SEK240 per 24hrs. Breakfast is decent. Play room for kids in breakfast room. They have a small gym with 2 mills and a cross trainer (see photo) Hopefully you'll get a room with view, and not any of the many facing the inner yard which is just dull and nothing to see but other rooms windows. They accept AMEX.

We stayed here twice. Because we were three people travelling, be booked just one room for us - #324 was the one they gave us on both trips. ROOM It was quite big and comfortable. The room featured two single beds and sleeper (a.k.a. sofa bed), a TV, a table, a chair and a modern armchair. The bathroom was big as well and had a bathtub. Nothing could be heard from the hallway or the other rooms. The windows can be opened a bit (not so advisable on the weekends due to the quite noisy people on the street at night, during the week it's okay). Only one thing we didn't like that much - I've dropped something which fell under the sofa bed and there was a dust and two candy wrapping papers. BREAKFAST Was okay. Turkey breast, ham, salami, liver paste, two kinds of cheese, different sorts of jam, as well as scrambled eggs, sausages, warm vegetables, fresh fruits, delicious bread, a good variety of hot drinks. A lot of it was fair-trade and/or organic products and they also had gluten-free bread. STAFF In the entire hotel they were friendly, nice and very helpful.
