This was the hotel we stayed at the last 2 nights of our 10 day trip. My husband and I were in a room at the front of the hotel, and my daughter and son in law at the back of the hotel. In our room at the front was scaffolding that blocked our view of the town square. We decided that was ok because we aren’t in our room except to sleep. Well little did we know that a new Techno club opened next door to the hotel. I can’t even begin to explain how loud and obnoxious this was!! The music that started both nights at 9:30 pm and went on until 3:00am. This was the most horrific 2 nights we have ever experienced!! We tried to change rooms and were told that the hotel was fully booked so we were stuck!! I can’t even begin to imagine that they would keep these rooms open and keep renting them out!! We were told to write an email to the hotel chain which we did and they never even responded to any of our complaints!! I can’t express enough that this was the worst stay ever, the loudest techno over and over until you literally thought you would lose your mind!! Please take my word and Don’t stay there!!!

Another Scandic experience in Malmö. The room was for a single person with a single bed on the third floor and the beds are super comfy. The ventilation or aircon in this room was automatic so no possibility to adjust it. There was no minifridge to cool down and the window is hard to keep open for ventilation. The curtains cannot be closed fully over the window to block all the lights in the morning which annoys me and the room was not fully cleaned when I arrived. Hair and stains in the shower and on the toilet ring and even a necklace from the previous guest hanging in the bathroom. The breakfast is good though and the gym and sauna are nice add-ons in this hotel. Also the location is one of the best in the city, very close to everything.

Great location in the middle of the city. Rooms were well laid out and had everything we needed. Unfortunately at the time we stayed there was scaffolding all around the room so we had no view and had builders walking outside the window all day. Had to have the curtains drawn all day long. This was not communicated to us at time of booking which is very poor customer service. Other than that good choice for a stay in Malmö.

Located on top of a night club that blasts trashy music until 3am on Monday nights. Edit: I had a really good experience with the front desk who were really nice and who changed my room, so I have updated my review. I still think the hotel should warn its guests about the loud rooms.

I was staying one night at this Scandic as a part of a birthday celebration, and let me tell you that we were surprised but not in a good way at all… I have never been to a scandic (or another hotel for that matter) that has this bad of what they usually call breakfast buffet. They had plain bread from Ica that was as hard as a rock. The cheese and other toppings tasted old and even the bacon was burnt to crisp. I paid for a better standard room with a king sized bed but we got a smaller bed than we have at home and a room that looked like it came from the great depression. The rooms pictures are not equal to the ones that they have. Which I’ve seen others point out as well. I am really disappointed and will never come back again.

This was a good place to stay for its value in a super location, steps away from Lilla Torg and walking distance to many other sights and conveniences, like the Central Train Station. She’s a bit tired, this building, needing some serious investment $ into refurbishing, deep cleaning, and general maintenance. We felt pretty inconvenienced with the broken lift. There were people there working on it every day, but we made many trips up and down the two long flights of stairs for the duration of our stay. It seemed our heater in our room was off (beyond our control) most of the time, so we were a bit cold, despite trying to adjust it. We did enjoy the heated floor in the bathroom. The beds were fine, not spectacularly comfy. The breakfast in the morning was perhaps one of the highlights, along with the very friendly service of all the hotel staff we encountered. Thank you for a great stay!

I gave 1 star, only because I couldn’t give 0. We had booked one night and even upgraded to a bigger room. But alas, this room was located directly on top of a night club, so we got zero sleep. They were fully booked, so the otherwise nice personal could do nothing but was very aware of the problem. They made a note on our room-number for the manager to contact us first thing Monday for some sort of refund. On Tuesday, I wrote an email, and now it is Sunday, and I have heard nothing yet. ||||In short - DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL ON THE WEEKEND, unless you do not care about your sleep or your money going to waste.

The Scandic Stortorget was without question one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We stayed for 6 nights in February, paying SEK 11’617 (€1’056/$1’229) in total - an amount that made the conditions we encountered completely unacceptable. The room itself was shockingly small, and the windows offered no insulation whatsoever. Combined with the hotel’s location, this created an unbearable situation. Surrounding clubs and bars blasted music until 3 a.m. every night of the week - not only on weekends - while deliveries, garbage trucks, and the clattering of glass disposal began as early as 5 a.m. On most nights, we were fortunate if we managed 2-3 hours of sleep. This constant lack of rest ruined our entire stay and turned what was supposed to be a vacation into a miserable ordeal. On top of this, the breakfast was carelessly prepared and tasteless, far below the standard one should expect. To make matters worse, our room was not properly cleaned; we even found garbage and dirt left behind from previous guests. Given the high cost, the sleepless nights, and the overall lack of quality, I can only describe Scandic Stortorget as a disgrace to the brand. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere.
