Scandic The Mayor

Stayed for 2 nights in an unforeseen (to me) combo of a heatwave and high school graduation parties. So my night-time choice was either to swelter with windows closed (effective sound insulation) or have them open and listen to the exuberant motorised celebrations passing by at regular intervals. Plus general street traffic which always catches me by surprise! (What? Buses, cars and people going past at midnight, or very early in the morning? Who'd have thought!) That said, the location was very good for me, being opposite the station. ||Room small, but perfectly fine. Breakfast pretty good, and as someone who has a gluten free diet, I appreciated that not only did they have gluten free bread & cornflakes (and a small postage stamp of a cake) but that these were wrapped and kept separate from the ordinary bread. Well done! Nice variety of breakfast items. ||Staff friendly and helpful. ||Overall, I'd be happy to stay here again if I ever return to Aarhus.

Extremely disappointing, definitely not a 4 star hotel! The rooms are tiny and a twin room doesn't have beds: it has two small bunks! And you get told to separate the beds yourself if you want a twin room (as per booking). I have only seen beds this small in 2 star hotels. The staff is rude and unhelpful. You get this kind of room and much better service in 2 or 3 star hotels. Only positive note is the position in walking distance from the centre of town.

Scandic Mayor has an exellent location in Aarhus. The stff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great, I had a single room and the bed had a very annoying creak. But I didn´t complain about it, just told them when I left and the were going to look into it. Would definitely stay there again - and enjoy my breakfast.

Very central and perfect location. The staff was quite friendly and the breakfast was wonderful with lots of choices. The room I booked was clean but quite worn out. There was no bedside table or full length mirror and the wooden floors were cold. Although I was happy to see an electric kettle in the room. I would have given another star if the room was more cozy despite its age. A bedside table and small rug by the bed for example. I would stay here again only if I upgraded my room or waited until the renovation is complete.

The hotel promises on its website: "After a good night's sleep, you wake up well-rested and start the day with a view of our quiet courtyard, the beautiful Rådhuspark, or watch whilst the city wakes up on lively Park Allé." Well, that's not true. In reality, those very places were occupied day and night by groups of homeless people and individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health problems, who created constant noise and disturbance around the clock.

Unfortunately the hotel is under construction and some parts of the hotel should be closed or not reachable. Instead you walk through the workers. The hotel as a hotel is nice and clean The staff is gentle and the breakfast is more than fine. It is about 5' away from the city centre.

The room was fine, the breakfast was good but beware that parking is a huge hassle. Difficult to drop off. Parking garage is 8min walk if you know what you’re doing. 15min when you don’t. All this because of all the construction the hotel going thru. Great shower. Front desk always very helpful.

Best possible breakfast. Best location - close to the train station and an easy walk to all sights.||The room was pretty basic but still comfortable.
