Scandic Uplandia

Very good breakfast, comfortable rooms, but very poor customer service. The iron in my room was damaged. It left a burnt mark on my shirt while I was visiting town for business. They requested a receipt of the shirt for reimbursement, while knowing fully that no one keeps receipts on shirts, let alone 70 euro shirts that might have been bought a year ago. Utter lack of honesty. Plenty of hotels in town, pick one that understands hospitality.

Good location, pleasant friendly staff. Room decent - clean, toiletries provided. Hall and lift tired but fine. Gym looked decent plus sauna as a bonus (didn’t use either). Breakfast good - not busy, decent selection. Bar nice but only one member of staff on manning reception and the bar. No restaurant on a Sunday evening (not sure about lunch). Decent pleasant hotel - good value for money.

I stayed at this hotel for a week on a business trip and it was perfect.|I accidentally booked a room without a window and because I visited in the summer the room got really hot at night. In the morning when I asked the guy at the reception if they had a fan or something, he told me yes. When I got back later that day he told me they didn’t have a fan available but they would change my room for a bigger one with a window for free. This was a very professional service and they didn’t have to.|Later on that stay, a sweet girl in the reception even helped me find the right public transportation back to the airport.|This stay at Uplandia what by far the best place I visited in many years.|10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend.

Not worth the price. Worn out interior, deposits along the panels in the room, but worse also in the bathroom. Ugly smell from the bathroom, unclear whether it is sewage or technical fumes, likely to leave you with a headache. Although the housekeeping acknowledged the smell, the reception denies it. Insulting really. Breakfast is below average, poor standard for produce, dry bread, low quality coffee, low end cheese and charc, with no love. Absolutely not recommended for anything other than a good central location. I could have added the recording of the housekeeping acknowledging the bad smell, but gdpr🫶🏽

Really good location. Parking garage is in the same building, underneath the hotel. Great thing. Helps with the luggage a lot. Restaurant at the hotel was closed for some reason. Breakfast was served. Hotel is okay for short trips but I can imagine the room getting hot in the summer. During our stay was rainy and cooler than normally. So air conditioning was not something we needed. We stayed just one night. The receptionist in the hotel was very friendly. You can go to gym and sauna during your stay.

I stayed with my family on a trip to Uppsala for a conference. The “family room” was two single beds and a pull-down bunk. With the bunk pulled down there was very little space in the room. With temperatures in the mid-to-low 20s the air conditioning did not get the room cool enough at night. The room did not have a fridge. The location is great as was the (included) daily breakfast.

the staff are generally polite. Everything else was terrible. I've seen university residence rooms that are better. For the cost, this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. It is the epitome of a tired hotel in need of closing and refurbishing. The worst: a pervasive sewer odour from the drain in the tiny bathroom AVOID

Run down, room and common areas very dirty. Stayed in many different Scandic hotels throughout Scandinavia in July, and this one was far below acceptable standards. Complained to the manager, who was completely uninterested.

A good and friend hotel in city center that allows dogs. Straff was supper friendly and service-minded that made you feel special. Food in the bistro is about avrage but could be better and not much to choice from if you are a vegeterian or only eat chicken and fish. Breakfast is just above average and it dos the job for most people but the downside is they cut up so much fruits and after the pandemic and especially in Sweden it feels unhygienic and unsafe to eat. But in all breakfast is good. The rooms are ok nothing special but good and the cleaning staff is super friendly and helpful. The gym is good and has all you need to keep in shape, but the sauna and the showers need a makeover and more regular cleaning During my 3 nights the showers was not clean even if i told them after the first night that the show was full of hair and you could see the hair was from more intimate parts. So if the clean they showers, put up some hooks for towels, fix the bucket in the sauna like buying a new one, put a thermometer in the sauna and maybe add some hocks or shelving, a hairdryer the sauna would be a great pleace visit again. The best thing would be a phone with a direct line to reception so you could order drinks like water, coffee and fruit and so one without having to leave the sauna area as it is on a sperat floor in the building from the reception.

I arrived early in the morning and they accommodated me by letting me check in early. I asked for a quiet room and they delivered. I really appreciate the service. The room is small but functional. Beds are soft and comfy. Free wi-fi. It's a bare bones room but I won't be here for long so it's fine. Central location is walking distance to restaurants, bars, and stores.

I stayed in this hotel few times on my business trips. +The centrality of the hotel is amazing. +Amazing breakfast buffet +Friendly staff both at the reception and the restaurant +Good food in the restaurant for dinner BUT: - Rooms are lacking minibar -Sometimes rooms are cold. *once the room was really really cold that I caught a cold overnight. however the time after that I asked the staff for extra heater which they told me to not use it after 9-10pm because it makes a lot of noise and it can bother the other rooms (!) Overall this hotel for me is four stars, if and only if they fix the heating problem because I can get over the mini bar issue as reception is selling food and beverage 24/7.
