We stayed at the Treasure Island Resort Hotel for two nights and three days. On our second day, we visited the charming town of Red Wing. I had researched a place where we could enjoy lunch overlooking the Mississippi River, and we decided to drop by without a reservation. To our delight, we were promptly seated at a window table (we opted to sit indoors as it was quite hot outside). Thanks to our friendly server Beverly, she recommended the delicious Caprese sandwich, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the wild rice soup and the poke bowl. The wild rice soup is definitely one I would recommend among the ones I have tried. The poke bowl, with its spicy and tangy sauce combined with fresh quinoa and vegetables, was very fresh and satisfying. The cold brew coffee was also excellent. If I return to Red Wing, I will certainly come back here just for these dishes. The interior was clean and comfortable, which we appreciated. However, I rated the atmosphere four out of five stars because three persistent flies kept entering from the terrace and trying to land on our food throughout the meal. It was a bit distracting having to shoo them away repeatedly. I suppose even the flies have heard how exceptional the food is here! 😅

Super cool spot in a beautiful historic hotel. The restaurant was busy on a Friday evening, definitely recommend having a reservation or calling in advance to check the wait time. We put our names in and got a table about 1.5 hours later, which was totally fine for us! The food was delicious, and our server Patrick was fantastic and so friendly. :) highly recommend this spot for dinner (and I've heard they have incredible brunch too!). We loved the cheese curds and brussel sprouts appetizers!

Wonderful restaurant. We had lunch here on the first day of spring on March 20, 2025. The pot roast was said to have been cooked for 16 hours was delicious, seemingly worth every minute of the 16 hours. The bourbon pecan pie was the best ever. The coffee was excellent. All in all a great lunch. Service was good.

What could be better than a girl’s day out?! Nothing! And lunchtime on a Friday led us to visit Scarlet Kitchen & Bar. It was quite busy when we arrived (the patio was hopping) but we were seated inside near the windows. It was very bright and airy inside. Beverly was our server and she was the absolute sweetest! She was as attentive as possible with the busyness of the restaurant and gave us great recommendations. I started with a mango margarita and my friend had the blackberry margarita. Both of the drinks were yummy and refreshing. We then ordered the crab rangoon dip and the BLTA with fries to share. This is where I marked down stars in my review for service— the food took over 45 minutes to come out!! It was a good thing we were there for a leisurely lunch because that is a long time to wait for food. The food itself was all very tasty— the crab dip was hot and it worked well with the fried naan bread it was served with. The BLTA was balanced and the jalapeño bacon gave it a nice kick. The multi-grain bread it was served on held up well to the sandwich. The French fries were also perfectly hot and crispy. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to Scarlet and would return— the fantastic flavors in the food made up for the lack of speed from the kitchen.

Best restaurant in Red Wing. One of the best in the nation. The service is on point. The kitchen staff is excellent. Everything on the menu is wonderful and flavorful. Indooor, outdoor and bar seating available. If you sit at the bar, Jenna is a top tier bartender!

Husband and I have loved our experience every time we dine at the Scarlet! Staff is always friendly and the food is delicious. We love coming here in the warmer months and sitting outside. Pricing is pretty average for eating out these days. Our favorite dish so far has been a Mediterranean one. Can't remember the name, but we were surprised at how great the falafel was.
