If you are a foodie, don’t miss a stop at this amazing store. Imported and domestic artisanal foods both fresh and frozen; huge selection of small New Zealand brands, a very well curated wine selection with great pricing. Friendly staff.

Definitely the best stocked wine, craft beer and liquor supply shop I have been to! We loved the tasting table where we tried many guns and Eduardo even gave me a cocktail recipe I am looking forward to using at home. He is from Portugal so I was more than happy to take his recommendation on a new Porto. There is also a whole section of delectable accompaniments and specialty foods that will be luring me back the next time we are in Taupo. My husband was pleased everything we bought fitted in one case. Next time I will bring one less suitcase so we can buy more 😈

An asset to Taupo. If you need a chic gift or need to put on a banging platter, The Merchant is a must.

If I could give more stars I would. We were visiting my daughter in Tauop. After searching high and low for a number of years found a bottle of Meerlust from Stellenbosch. SA!!
