we had a fantastic experience at scentbar—we visited for the first time and on a weekday—there was no wait to enter. first, as soon as we walked in the door, spotted a fragrance that we didn’t know was available in the US since the closing of barney’s years ago, so it felt like we were in the right place. we were then helped by Mabel who was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, attentive and engaging, she made recommendations that were spot on based on the preferences we shared, and let us take our time without feeling rushed or pressured to buy. we left the store without purchasing because we had a couple more stops but eventually came back because it was a tough decision, but bdk’s creme de cuir ended up being exactly the right one! when we returned they were a little swamped by a large group that had arrived together (some sort of scent convention was in town), and Mabel spotted me right away, retrieved what i wanted from stock, completed my purchase right away and threw in a few samples! i have only praise for our overall experience and Mabel, who was a delight. if you’re looking for fragrances that won’t be what everyone else is wearing, scentbar is an amazing place to spend a little time—they will help you find something you didn’t even know you were looking for. i think we’ll end up back there for a little more exploration and to at least snag iris cartagena 502 by bon parfumeur.

I am a huge fragrance fan and this was my first time stopping in. Although there was a ~20 min wait on a Saturday afternoon, I genuinely appreciated the 1:1 attention once my friend and I were able to get inside, so I believe it was worthwhile. Delilah gave such fantastic suggestions for what I wanted and I appreciated the range of scents that were pulled, including some that I wouldn’t have necessarily thought of myself, but ended up really enjoying! I will definitely be returning VERY soon!!

I would give Scent Bar ten stars if I could. I am so grateful for Delilah's help in finding my favorite, and now sadly, discontinued scent. I came in with the very last of my much loved perfume and Delilah led me to the most amazing match, which took loads of time and patience. Delilah offered insights and ranked the options for me but allowed me time to fully absorb, give feedback, and enjoy the process. I felt valued and seen and heard. So many times today the shopping experience is mechanical but at Scent Bar, people are there to help you--knowledgeable, professional, caring people. The selection of perfumes is visually amazing and the ability to smell so many fragrances from around the world is a real treat. I so appreciated the recommendations and hope to visit again soon.

Took the train up from Philly to NYC this weekend specifically to visit this store! I had a wonderful first time in the shop! Rose was exceptionally helpful and patient with my long list of niche scents Iv'e been wanting to try in person and suggested a lot of new houses I'm excited to try out! Thank you!

Spent some time at Scent Bar this past weekend, and it was wonderful. The selection of fragrances was great, the staff were knowledgeable and personable, the vibe of the place was lovely. Delilah spent a bunch of time with me, laying out bottles and encouraging me to step outside to smell certain fragrances. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for during this visit, but I'll definitely be back when I have more solid ideas of what I want. Big thanks to Delilah (and the other staff) for exactly the experience I was hoping for!

I had a dream of an experience. 10’s across the board. VJ was my client advisor and he was the best. I made a specific request for a scent ( something that will make my bf fall in love again) and he walked me through all of these amazing scents that made me fall in love at first sniff. He was knowledgeable and could pinpoint everything he sampled for me. Patient but really helped guide my choices and steer me away from things that were close to scents I already owned. Showed me new and adventurous perfumers that just released fragrances. This was a full blown treat on a cold day. I left with 9 of the best and diverse smells and I love them all. I will be back next week to explore more. Next time I will come with an even more complex request and I’m 100% VJ will be the best at helping me find me some new treats to take home.

An unforgettable olfactory experience. They have a great variety of perfumery houses. The service was excellent—kind and highly knowledgeable. I highly recommend it, and I’ll be returning on my next visit to NY.
