We had an amazing experience in Scent of Green Papaya! Perfect blend of authenticity, comfort, localisation and welcoming. - Bedroom are simple but clean, beds very comfortable and convenient (safe, hair dryer) - Breakfast are simple but all you need for this level of prices - Pool is big & clean with numerous sun beds - Lovely small bar/restaurant where you can order coffees/drinks/snacks Staff is very nice and helpful (to book a tok tok or grab). Please note the beach is not directly near the hotel, but not far (the 10mn walk at least). Definitely best deal for this price.

Scent of green papaya is a great resort to escape from the busy streets of Bohol and relax. The pool is cleaned frequently, the rooms are cleaned every morning and the staff is very helpful. There is also a shuttle every hour to Alona beach if you don’t feel like walking. The breakfast is delicious too! Would 100 recommend and great price to value ratio.

This was a very nice resort to stay. It is just a short drive off the main road near Alona Beach. Staff was very friendly and always greeted us with a smile. They offered us a fruit drink when we arrived. We were hungry from our flight and they have food on site. Menu has local dishes plus others like Cheese bacon burger. Food was good. Rooms are nice with a safe. Complimentary water the first day in room. Bathroom was okay. Water pressure a little low for me but was expected. They do clean rooms daily which was nice. Resort has a nice size swimming pool which the family enjoyed. Plus they have a smaller between the rooms I stayed in. The courtyard area is beautiful and plants, walks, etc are taken care of well. A nice plus is when we arrived back at resort late, they would take our breakfast orders so they could have it prepared when we came over to the dining area in the morning. They do have a shuttle to Alona Beach or if you like you could walk but roadway in a few spots are small and you have to move over if a vehicle is coming. The resort is gated so you do feel safe there. Plus a small area to park. I would recommend to others.

We recently stayed at a hotel I booked through Agoda, opting for the cheapest deal. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I wanted to share my thoughts.||The entire property has a nice garden resort vibe, which we really enjoyed. The room was spacious, and the bathroom was huge—definitely a highlight of our stay. However, I do have a few suggestions for improvement:||Lighting: The room could benefit from brighter lights. It felt a little dim, especially in the evening.||TV Upgrade: The TV in the room was quite old-school. The remote was hard to navigate, and the overall quality felt outdated. It would be great if they upgraded this.||Water Bottles: I would love to see them replace the small plastic water bottles with larger, more eco-friendly containers. It's a small change that can make a big difference in terms of sustainability.||Mattress: The foam mattress wasn't as comfortable as I hoped.||On the positive side, the staff at the kitchen were very attentive, and my parents especially loved the watermelon juice they served. It was refreshing and a nice touch.||If you book a room, it includes free breakfast, which offers a good selection and large portions, along with brewed coffee and juice.||The only downside was the limited food selection on the menu. While the quality was fine, having more options would be great.||The property is located in a residential area, which might not be the most convenient for everyone, but they do offer complimentary transfers from time to time, which is a great perk.||Overall, it's not the best value for money, but if you're looking for a relaxing, laid-back stay, I would recommend this property.

It is a nice place overall with a good pool, basic breakfast and friendly staff. The location is a bit of a downside though. Street leading to the property changes to a laneway and is next to the residential properties with lots of loose animals roaming the streets. There are goats, chickens and cats around and a group of dogs, which bark at you when you walk up to the hotel instead of taking a ride. Unfortunatelly the barking and roosters have kept us up all night long … Free shuttle runs every hour to town until 5pm every hour except Wednesdays. You can book the tricycle for 100 pesos to go to the main beachnd shops. Overall the distance is not bad and it is walkable but just the wild animals and dark corners do not make it a comfortable locations for those wanting a night out or a good undisturbed sleep (even ear plugs didnt help..)

What a gem! We checked out from a nearby hotel as we couldn’t sleep so we took this by chance. Lucky us! The staff is so good and helpful. Food and drinks are good priced and the area is very nice. We enjoyed it so much and no there’s not that far to walk to the beach.. but they also have free shuttle - what a service

A lovely small resort in a quiet location, away from the chaos of Alona Beach. I stayed for three days and felt very comfortable. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and cleaned daily. I can recommend this resort and would come back again.

A very nice hotel, the staff is always friendly, helpful and always smiling! Some of the best service we had in the Philippines! The hotel is near enough of the restaurants and everything else yet far enough from the noise and the chaos. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel!
