Hotel Capricorno

I had a great stay at this hotel, when in town for a conference at the Austria Center. I booked one of the larger rooms with a balcony, since I like to open windows, but since the hotel is on a busy street, you do need to shut the windows at night. I needed to run the cool air even in winter, since the hotel is warm overall, but the AC is among the best I've experienced in a hotel -- very quiet and effective. The shower is very good (hot water, good water pressure, and it didn't leak onto the floor; that said, the shower head was a bit loud in my room).||The breakfast is excellent, and includes expresso drinks. ||The hotel is right next to many sources of public transportation, and I really like how it is positioned halfway between the city center and the conference center. The public transportation in town is just excellent.||I slept well, although the two sides of the bed have different heights.

We stayed here 4 nights and really enjoyed it. It's close to 3 metro (U-Bahn) lines. There are good restaurants within walking distance. The cheese breakfast omelettes were quite good. Beds and pillows were super comfy, giving a great night's sleep. Walk-in showers were nice and non-slippery. It really was a great stay. My one nit is that we like to sleep with fresh air and the street noise was quite loud when the windows were open, with sirens going by literally every few minutes some evenings, lots of loud people standing outside the hotel, etc. So if you like your windows open, bring earplugs. Overall though it was great and we'd happily stay there again.

We stayed at Hotel Capricorno in Vienna for three nights in September 2025, and it was a great experience. The room was spacious, well-designed, and very functional, and the bed was very comfortable. They served one of the best hotel breakfasts we've ever had, including coffee drinks and eggs perfectly made to our choice. The location is excellent, placing it within short walking distance of all main attractions. Specifically, it’s about a six-minute walk to St. Stephen's Cathedral and is also close to a public transportation hub. We enjoyed our stay, and we will be happy to return when in Vienna.

This hotel is highly rated but the reviews don’t seem to align with the property. The location is adjacent to the subway and main road with noise and traffic and a less than desirable locale. It is close walking distance to the heart of old Vienna but definitely a block or two too far removed. The rooms are small with barely space to get out of bed once opening your suitcases. The sheet is rough polyester. The pillows are hard clumpy polyester fibres. The breakfast is very basic with no meats or hot oatmeal or porridge. No coffee in room. Also note that the hotel is only two floors with one side facing the roadway and the other overlooking a parking lot and adjacent building. Staff is excellent- friendly and helpful.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Capricorno. The location couldn’t be more convenient—perfectly situated for exploring Vienna, with easy access to public transportation and many attractions within walking distance. The room was spotless and well-appointed, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable—I had some of the best nights’ sleep of my trip. The hotel maintains very high standards of cleanliness throughout, which I really appreciated. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options that made for a great start to each day. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Vienna.

Hotel Capricorno is great! Wonderful location for walking or using public transportation. Room was immaculate, breakfast was yummy (as was afternoon cake and coffee), and the staff were warm welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend.

Small but lovely little hotel situated so you can explore Vienna on foot. Although it's in a busy area (lots of traffic) the rooms are well insulated. I'm a light sleeper and I had no trouble with the noise. The staff is very friendly. Lovely bonus: there's free coffee, tea and cake between 3 and 6pm 🤩. I can absolutely recommend it for a short stay in Vienna.

Great location to all the great sites to see, easy to access the public transportation system and walk to just about anywhere. Safe and clean hotel. Enjoyed having a balcony but view was slightly blocked. Not a big deal, just mentioning it.

Great place and am confused why there are no reviews. Very convenient to St. Stephen's and the subway. On a busy street but really quiet. Room felt brand new to me and was very comfortable with a nice balcony. The bathroom was really nice and I loved the shower head. It was one of the big ones that gives the impression it's raining on you. Morning breakfast was actually a breakfast. They have selections to choose from like a continental but the staff will make you coffee and eggs in any style you choose. Staff were all nice and welcoming. I'd stay here again if I came back.

This is our 2nd separate stay here..on the same trip to Europe! A great hotel from every aspect. The staff is just excellent. I could not have expected more! The rooms are very comfortable, and so practical! The breakfast is so good! I have to admit, we only had coffee outside the hotel once, that's how good their coffee is! The latte macchiato they make is fantastic! As I write this review, I am sitting alone in their eating area, and the person manning the front desk this evening brought me a piece of coffeecake! He also gave me an entire carton of milk when I need some for my daughter. You can't get any better than that! My only hope is that the staff receives hefty compensation for their hard work and attention to detail! We will be coming back!
