Great little museum in the historic Schlossturm by the Rhine. The exhibitions about Düsseldorf’s maritime history are interesting and well presented, and the tower itself is worth the visit. The best part is going up for beautiful views over the Rhine promenade and the Old Town—especially around sunset. A perfect stop if you’re sightseeing nearby (Burgplatz/Altstadt)

Interesting displays and information, with many hands-on activities for children. Lovely views from every floor, and the cafe at the top is a hidden gem from which you can enjoy lovely views of the Rhine and watch the world going by beside it.

Major attractions in my eyes: ⭐Hands-on designs. From pulling yourself up by a knotted rope, to navigating long barges through narrow waterways, the little spaces offer outsized fun. ⭐Ship models. I love ship models. ⭐Vista. The deep windows look out to the Rhein and frame the bridges, boats and promenade beautifully. Logistics: ⭐Take a one euro coin for locker. You’ll get it back as you release the locker and leave. ⭐It is Sunday today, so entrance is free.

A brilliant little museum with gorgeous ship models and heaps of exhibitions, some of which are interactive. The lovely (cash-only) café on top has views which rival the Rheinturm/Bar M168 but offers an infinitely better all-round experience. Ignore that tourist trap and come here for refreshments instead.

It was really great and it has many cool things. It is also very cheap (€3.5). It also has a bar at top that has many alcoholic options with a great view but it doesn’t have many Coffee options. The infos in the Museum are mostly in German so if you don’t know German I suggest you to use google translate and read the infos.

Old building that still well maintained n become nice landscape photography. I do enjoy strolling around this area, feeling romance that decades ago there was been some great civilization here. Tons of amazing architecture building that seems never ending story to watch, historical, memorable, n beautiful indeed. The location was strategic, near the river, many cafe and shops. Many Peoples come Here to solely hanging around, enjoying the view n waiting for beautiful sunset time as well.. i took this picture when pre summer 2019, such a nice experience n really glad to be here..

Museums location is great. You need to see the around. It is near the rhein river. Entrence fee is 3 euro. There are model ships which demonstrate the ship transportation evolution... On the top of it, there is a restaurant. It's view is quite beautiful and fascinating... I recommend you visit. It is no so big to complete.. Have fun.... Ich empfehle ihnen zu besuchen...

A paid to enter museum. The only remains of the old palace. Now converted as a tower museum. Artifacts in it tells the story how dusseldorf came about ages ago and its importance as trade centre. It covers some history (summary some sort) about how the city comes about...if you do not have time to cover bigger museums to know about the city. Walk up the stairs to get some good view of the city. There are some interactive video (both english and german) explaining about the city. Take your time to listen to and watch it. The highest floor is a cafe giving you a 360 view of the city and river RHINE.

Yelp
Of the x4 museums I went to during my weekend visit to Düsseldorf, this was easily my favorite museum! Entry is only €3 but we really lucked out because entry is free with the Düsseldorf Card. Also they have a happy hour deal when the museum is free to enter, in the last hour before the museum closes. You take the elevator do the fourth floor and then climbed up two more stairs to the very top of the tower which is completely Glassed-in and has a café with wonderful views over the Rhine and the square. Then the 3rd floor has these great interactive video game where you can navigate a barge thru the river. This was enormous fun and despite trying multiple times, I was unsuccessful in successfully docking the boat at the dock. Finally the 2nd floor of the museum has a great 13 minute video about the history of Düsseldorf - absolutely worth staying and watching it. Then the gift shop at the entrance also has really cool things as well. I really liked how interactive and fun and charming this museum was. You can easily get check out everything in under an hour and a half and love the cafe at the top too! Absolutely recommend! Yelp 247/ 2018
