The best independent restaurants to check out in Frankfurt - SilverKris

"Located in the renowned Schirn Kunsthalle in the heart of the old town, I found Badias Kitchen to be a contemporary art–adjacent restaurant that hosts regular gatherings tied to ongoing exhibitions; popular with the artsy set, its parties feature live music and plenty of dancing." - Christie Dietz

Came here by chance on a Friday night when other spots were full, and it turned out to be a pleasant find! The restaurant is right next to the metro station, making it very convenient. Spacious, nice outdoor seating, and a chill vibe. Service was pretty slow, but the staff was genuinely friendly, so we didn’t mind too much. Food was good, though not a lot of meat options for dinner—maybe because of the Middle Eastern influence? What we did try was solid: - Lamb chops – Nicely seasoned, but slightly dry. The polenta was smooth and flavorful. - Octopus – Cooked beautifully, tender with a nice hint of lemon that made it even better. Overall, a nice spot for a laid-back dinner, especially if you enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern flavors.

The cuisine is modern, with quality tableware and stylish presentation. Everything I’ve tried was absolutely delicious! Excellent coffee, specialty level. Delicious desserts. The interior is also great — large windows, high ceilings, and it’s right inside the museum building. Lately, the service has been excellent! (There used to be some issues with it before) The menu was recently updated and added photos of the dishes — thank you, it’s really nice!

This Cafe has many seats but unfortunately too few staff who can take orders and checkouts. We had to wait and struggled for a long time until we finally got some notice. Food was good, I especially liked the bagel I ordered in addition. It was served warm and had slightly crunchy surface.

They are really kind and sweet! Location and atmosphere are also cute. But the drink price is a little higher than how it was, in my opinion. Food was so nice and I loved their selection of cheese on the platter.

This place is very well decorated with details of fresh flowers at every table on beautiful terrace and inside seating. I got the marrakech breakfast which was cold when it got to my table, probably because the service was SLOW and unprofessional (while I was there servers dropped trays of drinks/food twice). The carrot cake was the best part but I paired it with an espresso that lacking in size. You can pay by card but they like many places in Frankfurt don’t have wifi. They are connected to the museum.

I was here about an hour before opening and the nice proprietress was kind enough to set me up with a free coffee on the house! Too bad they will be closing soon due to renovations, a shame.

Very solid and fresh brunch options with a great outdoor space to enjoy yourself before conquering Frankfurt’s old town and River Main walk. The bagel was fairly priced and was largely portioned, though it will not leave you bloated.

I second another review: yes, the pancakes with fried chicken taste very nice! Good combination of sweet and savoury. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly service as well. A perfect stopping point after visiting the Schirn gallery.

Yelp
Trendy cafe right by the Schirn Kunsthalle and Dom. They serve typical brunch foods as well as heartier dishes like steak, and there is a nice bar. Very modern design with a view of the Dom

Yelp
This cafe is located near the main cathedral and within the edges of the old city. The menu has some unique items. I ordered the "Rote Shakshuka" which was very good and very spicy.

Yelp
Today I was there for lunch. Chickenburger with Sweet potatoes. Great! Fresh. Crisp. Fun! The price a little high and I do not like the price of a big bottle of water. But quality and service great. But hold on. Fully disappointed I faded out as our tour guide asked for tab water as she was talking for hours - they brought the smallest glass I have ever seen. A shot glass. That is mean. I should have complained right off but focussed on our conversation. Stupid me. She told that she is a guide. Hey!?!?!? What if that lady would gone downstairs and drink from the tap directly? Nobody else ordered tap water. I ordered bottled like two others. Fully paid. A table with hundreds of Euro and than this. I am seriously disappointed. Do you really want to make money like this? A dog would have got more and better. And this in a touristic spot. I am embarrassed as a Frankfurter. Let's say wow wow when we enter next time. Wow wow!

Yelp
I've visited Badias for the first time with a friend today and it was absolutely lovely. Really nice and relaxed atmosphere, nice waitstaff and a very kind owner who wasn't afraid to support her staff and waited on the tables to make sure every guest got their food/check/drinks as soon as possible. The food was delicious as well, we got to choose from their Brunch-menue. Their Red Shakshuka and Hamshuka were perfect! Also the location is perfect. Not to far away from the action but still secluded enough to enjoy a quiet meal. Highly recommend
