"A lot of people on farms don’t name their livestock for fear of getting too attached. After years of being on the front-line of pork manufacture, an abattoir in Stuttgart went the opposite direction and embraced its former product, dedicating the former pig killing ground to a museum of swine history and art. Housing 42,000 different pig artifacts, the Pig Museum was designed with a chic look to cover up its more visceral past without losing the aesthetic of a warehouse. In each of the 25 themed rooms, visitors can open small hatches on stacks of crates to reveal any number of pig paraphernalia. Although some of the rooms are geared toward children, visitors of any age can enjoy the nostalgia of the piggy bank room and the awe-inspiring “golden pig room” with a massive, golden, rotating pig sculpture. Along with sculptures and other pig-dedicated art, the museum also takes a formal approach to the farm animal, giving a short history that dates back to the first domesticated pigs in Turkey 9000 years ago. Whether you come as fans of bacon or the gallant pig Babe, you are certainly to leave with a newfound respect for the animal, and an overwhelming sense of cuteness from the world’s largest pig museum. There is of course a restaurant on the ground floor that serves, what else, but tons of pork." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Really nice place with authentic and delicious Schwäbian and German meals. Staff is also friendly. Highly recommended, especially after the pig museum visit ;)

Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. The Haxe (grilled pork knuckle) looked amazing 😍. Had the traditional maultaschen (large pasta packets filled with meat) - very tasty. There is a interesting pug museum on site.

Food was good. We ordered Pork Burger, Grilled Lachs Fillet, Cheese Noodles. All the food were decent and nicely served. The waiting time is bit on the higher side. Otherwise the quality and taste of the foods are pretty good. Ambience too is good and apt place for get together of friends or families.

Wanted to visit the museum but decided to give it a miss and enjoyed lunch at the restaurant. The Braum Schnitzel was well-breaded and tender good. The Cordon Bleu was stuffed with spinach, and together with the mushroom and mushroom sauce, made you want to have more. Overall, a satisfying lunch of pork.

Service was quick and friendly and there was a nice ambiance. The 4 stars are especially for this. Food was acceptable but not very impressive.

This is the world's largest pig art gallery and also has a great restaurant. The actual amount of traditional museum history text amounts to maybe 3 written pages across the two floors you may spend 2 hours in looking at most pieces. There isn't any interactive elements aside from some expensive old electric dolls and a story of flip up mystery door of calendar. Nothing feels very interesting or creatively designed. The tour needs more versatility in its presentation.
