This castle is quite small but so beautiful inside and out. It is located inside a large free park where you can have a walk. You can admire the castle from outside but I recommend you to visit inside if you love castles and architecture. To be honest, the castle is quite small and the visit takes no more than an hour. There aren't much furniture, rooms are mostly empty but it's marvellous. Before going inside, you need to book your tickets at the souvenir shop nearby. It is not very easy to locate the entrance and the ticket booth so keep that in mind.

Super cute little castle a bit outside of Düsseldorf. But there’s a tram stop directly in front of it so it’s easy to get to. I arrived quite late, so I only visited the main part and skipped the two exhibitions that are also included in the ticket. They have an audio guide that’s accessible over your phone and you can choose between an architect, a noble lady and a ghost based on what part of the history interests you most. I absolutely loved it and even tho the Christmas market was taking place, it wasn’t crowded and you could easily enjoy the little palace.

Schloss Benrath (Benrath Palace) is located just outside the center of Düsseldorf. Elector Karl Theodor built the hunting palace and gardens of Benrath in 1755. No other European monument from this period is so well preserved. The park surrounding the palace is very large, covering over 150 acres.

A big park that resembles more of a forest now, apart from a few sections that are maintained, not really worth walking through. The palace looks good on its own and the entrance to the grounds is free, however there is not much to do or see here really. Still it's close to Dusseldorf 5 minutes by train, so why not.

So beautiful, park around it is amazing, lovely place where you can have a picnic or afternoon stroll.

In my opinion it’s not worth the visit it’s very nice on the outside so if you were to go and take pictures it’s cute but on the inside it’s only four rooms and they dont have anything significant. although it’s rich in history, paying to go inside is not worth it just walk around the palace and go to the garden it’s wayy prettier

I had a wonderful experience visiting the castle — it’s absolutely beautiful and rich with history. The gardens surrounding the castle are stunning and very well maintained, and the best part is they are free to enter. There’s a lovely café nearby that serves excellent coffee and delicious cakes, perfect for a relaxing break. I highly recommend purchasing your tickets online — not only is it more convenient, but they’re also a euro cheaper than buying them at the ticket counter. It’s also a good idea to arrive an hour or two earlier than your ticket time so you can take a leisurely stroll through the gardens. The area is peaceful, with plenty of birds to watch — a real treat for nature lovers. The ticket also includes access to two nearby museums: the Museum of Garden Styles and another dedicated to the region's flora and fauna. Overall, it’s a fantastic day out, blending history, nature, and a bit of culture. Highly recommend!

Free entry to the gorgeous park grounds surrounding the 18th century palace. From highly manicured French gardens to a naturalistic English garden, from shaded paths along wilderness to a decent-sized playground, this place has something for all ages. It will give you the illusion of being on the set of historical shows or movies. The café is worth a visit. Just the view is worth every penny. I consider the drink and housemade cake a free throw-in.

Yelp
If you don't speak German, don't bother with the guided tour. 87 minutes for 3 sentences not in German: "this is the bed where the electress slept.", "This door is fake", "Thomas Jefferson came here once". We asked, in German, if he spoke English, and made it clear 2 of the 3 of us didn't speak any German. To which he said yes, he did speak English... and then continued to exclusively speak in German for the entire tour; making NO effort to give us any information. When I translated 2 questions to ask him, questions about the sculpture/artwork around us; the answer both times was "I don't know". Save your euro and buy 2 beers/person instead.

Yelp
My partner and I wanted to visit a Schloss during out trip in Düsseldorf, but we didn't want to go so far, so we decided to come to this one. We took the U-Bahn from the station Schadowstraße, it took us quite awhile to get here, I think it was about 30-40 minutes. it was quite nice way to check out the city anyway. First thing I saw was the Schloßweiher, quite a beautiful pond it got there, then I saw the palace Benrath, it looked just great together. After we got off the U-Bahn train, we walked to the palace have a closer look. It does remind me of the palace I have seen in Potsdam. The main colour of the both of palaces are in pink, Schloss Benrath is Baroque-style. It isn't so big, it doesn't take long to walk around the building outside. The main building is also a museum, if you need a ticket to visit inside. It got a really big garden at the back though, great place for a walk. There are some other small gardens around, nice as well. I also saw some people dress up just re-lived the old day, kind of cool. My friend told me that Benrath was used to be a small town outside Düsseldorf, but now is part of the Düsseldorf. When we were on the way to the S-Bahn station, I could see their very own shopping street which quite close to the palace, it is quite peaceful here. Before we left this place, we just found a place near the front of the palace and sat down, enjoy the sunset, it was wonderful time, we like it a lot.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place!! The grand house, the gardens, and the adjoining forest are just gorgeous!! You can access it easily by car, bike or public transit and can leisurely stroll the grounds at your own pace. Everything is very well maintained and the staff are helpful as well. Perfect place for a picnic, bike ride, walk or even a nap! There is a museum and cafe on the grounds. Plus, the surrounding borough of Benrath is equally charming (full of shops, restaurants, cafes, etc). Kids, dogs, friends, and family will all enjoy what Schloss Benrath has to offer. If you are visiting Düsseldorf, this is one of its best attractions :)

Yelp
We had an hour long tour and stayed on the grounds to roam the gardens and see the Rhein. What a beautiful palace and unique spot to highlight the wonderful city of Düsseldorf!

Yelp
A nice pink little palace, with a European gardening museum in one half and another museum (can't remember what right now) in the other. A charming cafe is also located nearby, but the real attraction is the English gardens that sprawl behind the palace. A truly beautiful park.

Yelp
Slightly surreal and other-worldly. Not sure I would have chosen pink myself, but it does seem to work. The gardens are great though, especially in the sort of weather I visited in. I may have given the gardening museum a wide berth though, so couldnt possibly comment on that !
