Lieser Castle, Autograph Collection (Lieser, Rhineland-Palatinate) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Lieser Castle presides over a stretch of the lush, winding Moselle river in southwest Germany. Originally a 19th-century Italian Palladian villa, it’s since undergone a series of Art Nouveau renovations, a marriage that yields extraordinarily crafted detail at every corner of the edifice and the grounds. Make no mistake, this is gilded luxury — even the guestrooms go full wedding-cake, with crystalline chandeliers, wainscoting, sumptuous fabrics, and ornate furniture that would feature in museums elsewhere in the world. The hotel is perfectly positioned to explore nearby gems (Trier and Luxembourg are both within an hour’s drive) or the region’s famous white wine vineyards." - Tablet Hotels

Had my wedding here and Jessica Cullman and her team was absolutely amazing to work with and set everything up and made the experience just wonderful. The rooms are a bit small but it’s a wonderful old building and you truly feel like you’re staying in a castle. The food was great and the servers were amazing. We stayed for four days as an entire wedding party of 20+ people. The spa was fantastic as well.

Hotel is beautiful both outside and inside. Room was nice and clean.|Can not recommend the breakfast. We only had it the first day - from there we went to Bernkastel for brunch. Much better choices there with fresh bread.|The restaurant is for fine dining. Food was good, the waiter that served us did a good job.|In the bar it was difficult to get attention from the staff. We felt they did not really care. One day we had to go again - it was simply not possible to catch attention and order a drink.|The parking garage is a bit narrow, so we only used it for one day. If you use your car every day, it is actual more convenient to park on the public parking spots just outside and it is same distance as to the garage. The public parking cost about 1/5 of the hotel parking.|The charging station in the parking garage is 20€ per charge. It is also inconvenient since you first have to go to reception and get it unlocked. It is both more convenient to charge public and also at a better price. I will only recommend the garage if you have a very special car.

Was a beautiful period hotel, rooms were lovely, has an i door resturant and an other outside on a veranda. All serviced by very polite and knowledgeable staff. The swimming pool, sauna and fitness area and a wellness center offering massages and a nail salon. All spotlessly clean.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel two years ago and it was a wonderful experience. We loved the moselle region and this hotel in particular. We returned to this hotel all the way from singapore, and the experience was completely different.||The hotel was at capacity, it seemed due to a wedding, and the hotel was shockingly understaffed for this. it was impossible to get reasonable service at the hotel due to this. Most of the staff were trying their best and I couldn’t really fault them for the hotel management accepting so many bookings without the required staff. Felt quite sorry for the staff working there.||One particular front desk person however was shockingly rude when I raised a specific service issue with him. His position pretty much seemed to be not to expect better service at this hotel.||I wrote to the GM after checking out detailing our experience. Got a reply from someone at the hotel acknowledging everything I had raised and apologising… and well that was it. He invited us back to the hotel for a better experience next time - yes that really makes a great deal of sense when we live literally 10,000km away!!||Here’s a piece of advice to this hotel’s GM: if you haven’t got adequate staff, don’t fill your hotel up to capacity and deliver a poor experience to your guests! it’s quite simple really.||I am a Marriott titanium member and always try to stay at Marriott hotels. But never again at this one. The Moselle valley is incredibly beautiful with fabulous wine. But there are loads of hotels around here. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had friends visiting us and wanted to take them somewhere special and beautiful. This place did not disappoint! This hotel is stunning and overall just beautiful. We booked two rooms, both were views of the vineyard and King size beds. The hotel was thoughtful/intentional and gave our friends a room with a separate room so they could have more space and privacy since they have a baby. Our room was clean, spacious and beautiful. We got a pedicure at the spa which was lovely and reasonably priced. We ate breakfast at the buffet which was well worth the €33. Not only did the buffet have a good selection of food and drinks, you could also order a la carte items from the kitchen at no additional charge. We also ate at the Purcelli bar, and the food and service were outstanding. Nearby towns have plenty to do and a plethora of good restaurants to eat at. We cannot wait to come back! This place is a must if you’re in the region or visiting Germany.

We stayed for two nights in July, primarily to relax and unwind. During our stay, we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, had massages, and spent time swimming in the pool. Overall, it was a lovely experience. Our only two critiques were that the property seemed slightly understaffed, and the air conditioning didn’t cool the room as well as expected. That said, it’s one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve visited, with a peaceful and serene location.

A 5 star building with a 3 star hotel. We stayed in the Emperor Suite (935 euros per night), which is stunning. But the whole experience feels more like a 3 star hotel than a luxury property. No welcome on arrival, no one parks your car for you (and parking is 22 euros - mind you, this is in the countryside, not in a city), then queue at reception while one of the staff was busy showing non-paying guests around the hotel and only one other person was at the desk. Finally was offered a welcome drink, which never appeared. Went to the desk and politely asked if we could please have it and felt like I was annoying the clerk. No one took us up to our suite or explained anything about the 125sqm room - that does have some quirks (including, unbelievably a glass toilet door that you can see through!). A lot of staff do not speak English, or very little, nor German (a lot of overseas workers) and service is amateurish across the hotel. The breakfast is average. One of the two showers by the pool was broken, as was the single water fountain, and were not fixed during our stay. There were dirty towels everywhere. The restaurant, Purircelli, does not deserve a Michelin star (see my review elsewhere) and is significantly overpriced for what it offers. The building itself however is gorgeous and the area is great. The Emperor suite is stunning.

Stopped by for a coffee and cake on their terrace, but they only had one server for the whole terrace (20+ tables) and the cakes weren't available because they weren't delivered yet, despite it having been open for 3 hours already. You'd expect a expensive and high end place like this to have significantly better service, especially during prime tourist season. The ice cream was god though.

Yelp
What an amazing property! The pics online are beautiful but when you drive up to the property in person, it's breathtaking. Staff is super accommodating too. Food in the hotel is delicious. The breakfast is worth the cost, just wished I was hungrier in the morning to sample everything! Also had dinner on the patio and it was amazing. Ordered the hamachi for appetizer and cote du boeuf for our main meal. Should have skipped the hamachi because there was so much food for the main course. The beef was amazing, best steak dinner to date. There was so much flavor in the beef, didn't need any of the bernaise sauce but the sauce was still great. Dining options outsized the hotel are limited. More options with a quick drive to Bernkastel-Kues. Parking across the street is a cheaper option. There's also a Netto grocery store on the other side of the river if you need to grab any snacks. Great experience!

Yelp
This was an amazing, one of a kind experience and stay that I will never forget! The castle turned hotel has been preserved and is absolutely stunning, regal and opulent. Original artwork and other decor adorn the hallways and rooms. We had the pleasure of staying in a suite that overlooked the castle grounds and the Moselle river. We walked into our room to find a lovely handwritten postcard, a complimentary bottle of their local wine and delicious macaroons from the hotel staff... we felt like royalty. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine at the terrace cafe and then wandered around the town. One of the highlights of the stay was the stunning indoor pool and various saunas available in the spa area. There were 4-5 different sauna rooms that ranged in temperature to accommodate your comfort level, and tried them all! The hotel offers breakfast on-site, showcasing an excellent breakfast buffet or eggs made to order.
