Overall service was very very poor.
Our bedroom was located directly above the bins, and throughout our stay we could hear bottles being emptied into them, which was quite disruptive.
The TV in the room was extremely slow, and the remote control didn’t work at all.
On a positive note, lunch in the bar was really tasty.
However, our dinner experience was very disappointing. We were seated at 8:30pm and placed our order around 8:40pm. After waiting 45 minutes for our starter, we were then told that the main dish we had chosen was unavailable. It was frustrating that this wasn’t communicated at the time of ordering. To make matters worse, when we received the bill, we noticed an additional £80 charge for the original main we never received. The attention to detail was extremely poor.
We also spoke to the couple beside us, who mentioned they had waited an hour and a half for their meal.
Overall, although the rooms were nice, the service let the hotel down significantly. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t rate it any higher than a three-star hotel.
