Nice place, nice interior, friendly staff, but we had to wait outside until a table became available. Unfortunately, most of the cakes were out after lunch and we couldn't try their special pastries. But the other cakes were delicious.

It’s convenient to park car at both side of street and it’s located inside the palace’s gates. Nice and relaxing. Many people but easily get a table with seats. They have different tables (covered with table cloth) it’s for people who need waiters to serve. We couldn’t find table and told to queued if we prefer self-service. We came for special dish that advertised in front of their entrance. Surprisingly not many people order but I think the dessert consider quite good. It’s huge and there was vanilla ice cream inside the cream with cherries too. The ice cream melt quicker than I expected. Perhaps not hard enough or cold enough. Actually totally normal in Germany that usually you only get soft ice cream. However we notice cherry was from can that soaked with syrup before. I am ok with that although I prefer a fresh one. It’s good price and nice place to sit and enjoy some dessert . Recommend to try out.

We only had simple cakes at outside sitting. Beautiful outdoor setting. Cakes are delicious.

I went to Café Palmenhaus for the pre-booked brunch which was fantastic. Our waiter was Antonio, the best you can get. He was super nice and fun, takes the best pictures and always makes sure you have everything you need. Especially enough Prosecco :D The food was really yummy and all in all I can say this was a very nice and special brunch. Don’t forget to book this in advance as it’s always fully booked and come hungry.

Lovely restaurant with friendly waiters, relaxed atmosphere and great food. It was a perfect choice after visiting the castle and walking through the park. The service was quick and friendly despite the restaurant being busy.

I had the worst coffee of my life. A cafe latte which was really cold despite being 3 degrees C and had no taste of coffee at all. Good cake though.

Absolutely delicious! The Kaiserschmarren was buttery and the fruits were a nice and fresh addition to the dish. My mom had the trout, which was well seasoned.

Great cafe, wonderful drinks, vegan options are also available in coffee and cakes. Friendly staff and just perfect for a coffee and cake kinda afternoon!

Yelp
Enjoy the nice afternoon on the patio with a glass of Prosecco, beer and one of the best chocolate croissants I've ever had.

Yelp
Who would have guessed a cafe in a tourist spot would be so good?Came here for a quick lunch after a long morning of exploring the Palace. Since it was winter time, it was much too cold to eat outside but I can imagine it would be beautiful to dine al fresco in the summertime. Even so, the inside of the cafe was quite romantic with the mini palm trees. I ordered the vegan carrot risotto and a Kyoto Romance green tea. The risotto completely exceeded my expectations. It was creamy and the carrot shavings on top were so crispy. I would highly recommend it to vegans and non vegans alike.

Yelp
It's the only place that is on site to eat. It's a pretty setting and you have the option of sit down with wait service or just ordering from the counter. For the purpose of time, we ordered sandwiches and a plate from the counter, but the challenge you run into is seating can be limited. Overall, thought the food was ok. What made it tough was that it was a very warm day and the bees were at their peak, so it was tough to enjoy the food. Learned later that you can get in trouble for killing bees, so be careful about swatting at them.

Yelp
Perhaps the loveliest of all beer experiences I've had so far in Munich... Why? Because it was outside. In the sunshine. With my gal pal. Yes, this past Friday was quite a treat...and after a delightful walk around the grounds of Nymphenburg Palace...we were, of course, parched. We stumbled upon this little cafe and decided to bask in the glow of beer-laden sunshine. A bit of help for those not familiar: Outdoors: There are two sections divided only by a small path. One side has white tablecloths and is for the inside cafe/table service. If you are looking for a more refined lunch or drinks with someone to wait on you and price tags to match, sit down. On the other side lies tables without cloths, but instead with lollygaggers enjoying beers, pretzels, desserts and coffees. This is ordered from the outdoor stand just past the seating area. You order at the counter, and bring back to your table to enjoy. It took us approximately 10 minutes to figure out the pecking order. Once we did, we were really quite happy. I headed up to the counter and purchased two large beers totaling 8 euros. There are also many fine treats to be had, daily specials, etc. It is very much cafeteria-style but the savings will be plenty compared with the quite fanciful cafe across the small walking path. It was a very pleasant experience...and I'm sure in the summer it gets quite busy, but on this wonderfully warm spring day, it really was my own personal beer garden, and perhaps the only one I'll get to enjoy outdoors during my 5-week stay. C'est la vie, you take 'em when you can get them! A nice stop over if visiting the park, most definitely.

Yelp
This review is only about the quality of the coffee here and it was really poor. I could make a better coffee at home. Ambience is nice. I must admit it is nothing like the Palmenhaus in Vienna but, nice just the same. The menu is extensive and the service is good. The coffee however is not :-( Location is fabulous and the ambience is quite ok.

Yelp
Idyllic atmosphere to sit outside and inside. If you prefer a table with service outside there is only a few spots available. Most seats are self service. That makes a difference in the food + drink variety. I would enjoy more tables with a waiter.

Yelp
After a leisurely stroll through the grounds of the Nymphenburg Palace, two Americans worked up quite a thirst. (That's me and my gal pal, CC, in case you didn't get it.) I mean, one can only ooh and ahhh a palace so many times before one resorts to following geese and getting them to hiss at other people. Bier time? You got it. After spying the cafe, we plopped down at one of the non-table clothed tables. Here is what we learned: -Table cloth = cafe, and you will get a waiter if you want to have lunch. -No table cloth = self service. Seat yourself down and see the counter behind and to the left of the cafe (if you're facing the cafe) and get your own beer, coffee, or whatever it might take to quench your thirst. -About 4 euros for Hofbrau, not bad at all. About 30 minutes and two delicious beers later, the two American girls meandered off into the afternoon, sunned, beered, and quite happy. I recommend if you're spending the day around the palace and just need a quick drink (or snack) to get you on with your day.

Yelp
The service was extremely poor. It appears that they had a new server for our table, and it was her first day on the job. The inexperience was on full display, as our order was served wrong, and took an extremely long time to arrive. The meals we ordered were rather pedestrian and should not have posed such a challenge to the kitchen. The burger was overcooked and served cold. Instead of wraps, we received a salad that we did not order and further delayed our meal. At one point, the chef was observed berating the server. I hate to blame the young lady, as the establishment should provide better training for their personnel, but the overall experience was not very good.

Yelp
Upsetting experience. This place is in a beautiful setting with a lot of potential. Unfortunately this was the absolute worse dining experience during my trip to Germany. The waitress was incompetent and did not have good control over what she was doing. The cook even yelled at her. The food did not come out at the same time and was cold. We ordered simple menu items to have an efficient lunch but it took FOREVER! Don't eat here.

Yelp
We had a really lovely experience here for lunch. The lighting and ambiance were incredible, gorgeous despite it being a cold cloudy day. The food was great, though not cheap. It was also very family friendly, high chairs and a great kids menu and fun ice cream treats. We would definitely go back again.

Yelp
Lovely location, which is probably why staff think they don't need to make any effort whatsoever. An impressive show of how to look busy without actually serving any customers. (Time from walking in to having a glass of lemonade in front of me: Roughly 40 minutes. In a place that's half empty. That's pretty rich even by German standards.)

Yelp
On a cold and sleety 8th December we finished our visit to Schloss Nymphenburg and headed off into the palace grounds for half an hour's chilly walk. We had been intending to go back downtown for lunch, but by the time we got to the Palmenhaus restaurant it was 2pm and we needed sustenance, so we went in. We were very pleased we did. At one end of the lovely old palm house (like an orangery, but bigger) was a huge Christmas tree, and the rest of it was also decorated in festive style. The staff were very welcoming, and we gratefully settled down to consume a very welcome bottle of warming Rheinhessen cabernet sauvignon. The food was superb. My wife had the Nymphenburger, chicken and salad in a potato pancake bun, and I had the very rich and delicious venison with aspartame The dessert menu was one of the most imaginative and varied I have seen in a long time, even in much more expensive and upmarket restaurants. I had a very nice fruit and waffle mix and my wife had a similar concoction with berries (see photos). Both were very tasty. We finished the meal off with coffee, mine with slug of Grand Marnier in it. The whole meal was beautifully presented with charming, friendly and attentive service. I can't recommend it too highly and if we find ourselves in Munich again we may well make a special trip out to Nymphenburg to enjoy it again !

Yelp
5 of us decided to take a coffee and snack break in the sun, and with unusually warm and sunny weather, we sat out in the self-service area with a lot of others who also came for the sun. The location of the tables was perfect for catching the afternoon sun, and there were more than enough to accommodate the crowd of locals and tourists there. The order station was outside nearby, and there were lots of choices, different types of coffee drinks, black and fruit teas, hot chocolate, some hot sausages with salads, and lots of freshly baked goodies. They had a really good regional specialty, Zwetschen Dachie, a plum crumble pie (sort of), plus cheesecakes with fruit, and other fruit cakes. Everyone had a baked goodie and they were all really good and fresh tasting. The cheesecake with apricot and the Zwetschen Datschi were popular with our group. The server we had was helpful, when I inquired about the Datschi, she told me it was freshly baked. Yawzo! It is rather surprising to get this goodie at this point of the year, but it was delicious! The cappuccinos and hot chocolate were in 8 ounce cups and hot and tasty. This outside self-serve café is definitely a must do when in the Schloss Nymphenburg area.
