Schlosshotel Mondsee

Excellent hotel, good attention to detail, wonderful building, setting and hospitality. Very clean and well managed. Would definitely return. Only slight issue is v tricky to find with sat nav/ google maps!

The hotel is beautiful, full of old-world charm, and extremely well located in the heart of Mondsee. The rooms are very spacious, and the breakfast is generous, varied, and of good quality. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. However, I was quite disappointed with the overall comfort. The “double beds” are actually two single mattresses pushed together, which leaves an uncomfortable gap in the middle — I slept very poorly. There are no blackout curtains, only blinds that let in a lot of light, so by 6 a.m., the room is already bright. ( during summer ) The soundproofing is terrible — you can hear everything happening in the hallways: doors slamming, people talking, children running, suitcases rolling on the tiled floors. The courtyard echoes a lot, making evenings noisy from the restaurant and the church bell rings every hour — even during the night — and 1 gong every 15 minutes as well. As for the spa, it was far from relaxing: kids were playing, shouting, jumping into the pool with inflatable toys. The “adults only” area is right next to it, so it’s not peaceful either. Despite the charm and good location, I wouldn’t return.

The hotel itself is very beautiful, and the room was quiet. Breakfast was terrific, and the service all around was excellent. ||However, there were a number of deficiencies, such as:| - The hotel is impossible to find using GPS. In addition, the hotel parking was also difficult to locate. If you want to park in the public parking it is very close, and we used that alternative.| - The curtains are useless. Sun comes through as soon as the sun comes up, which makes sleeping difficult.| - The bathrobes had holes and the loops were broken| - The vanity kit was empty! And none of the items were ever replaced. | - The shower had some sort of a plastic enclosure, which was bizarre. | - Many of the lights in the room were burned out. Even after mentioning it, these were not fixed. ||Walking into the hotel I really wanted to rate it a “5” and, while each of the picky things above are not individually horrible, they added to a disappointing experience. It is more like a 3.5.

The beautifully renovated monastery converted into a hotel is the best place to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the small town and the lake. The rooms are nicely renovated and still in good shape. The breakfast was excellent, both in terms of the choice of food and its taste, I especially appreciated the pastries 😋 Another advantage of this hotel is that you can rent citybikes for free. Since there are bike paths around the lake, bikes are great for exploring the area 👍

We stayed at the Schlosshotel for a family celebration. The hotel is in a great location and we'll maintained. Very clean as well. The highlight was the delicious and huge breakfast buffet which we thoroughly enjoyed. Small downfall was the chilly room. We had to use a space heater to warmup. Other than that our stay was lovely.

An amazing experience in this unique place. Everything there was perfekt. Thank you so much for this unique experience.

So, after one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed at, I can write a review. I contacted them direct to make the booking and was replied to by the Receptionist Edda, who from the first email made me fully aware of everything before committing to book, which was very reassuring :-) super friendly and professional in every correspondence. When we were checking in, we were met on reception by Jana, who was super and again very professional. The actual hotel is very nice with underground parking with lifts direct to the hotel. The room was clean and it suited us very well. Breakfast was good with a wide selection and free Prosecco 😋 👌 there is also free mineral water on the first floor, but you will need some glass bottles from reception. Also, a must is the Benadick restaurant, which is through the courtyard. Again, everybody is professional and in good spirits, especially our waiter, Felix, who went above and beyond to make our visits the most enjoyable. Will definitely be returning to the hotel and this beautiful little Austrian town. Excellent in every way

Beautiful hotel with rich history and stunning architecture. The spa is fantastic—small but well-designed, efficient, and very relaxing. The food was good quality and lived up to expectations. However, breakfast could use some quality control. I noticed mold on the grapes and the Parmesan cheese, and some dishes from the dinner buffet seemed to be reused in the morning, like the ham and melon, which didn’t look fresh. The restaurant staff were friendly despite being seemingly a bit stressed. Loved the attention to detail, much love towards Mondsee and its guests - the receptionist was exceptionally friendly, and the check-in/out process was smooth. Overall, it was an unforgettable stay. Awesome hotel in the heart of Salzburg! Amazing pool, rooms, wifi, and plenty of room for 4 adults and a dog if you choose! Two floors for €150 a room! Great deal! Classical music right outside and a amazing restaurant as part of the grounds near the garden. I'd come back.

This hotel is 5 star in every way shape and form. I was fortunate enough to have stayed here on a 10 day long business trip back in July. This was my favorite stint during our trip just because of this town. It is the quintessential European village on the outskirts of Salzburg. This Hotel really takes things to another level. the rooms are two story suites with a giant spiral staircase connecting the two rooms. My room overlooked the center courtyard which was beautiful. The restaurants on site are also excellent. The one night they set up a table out on the lawn and served us a six course dinner. It was amazing! The only thing that i was not impressed with was the fact that not all of the rooms are air conditioned. Our stay was at the ind of July and it was in the high eighties and my room was an oven at night. The bedroom was located upstairs and kept in the heat form the day. I asked at the front desk if they had a fan and they gave me the only fan in the whole hotel which was at the front desk with out hesitation. Very thoughtful. I can't wait to take my wife here when we make it to Europe!!
