The hotel is beautiful, full of old-world charm, and extremely well located in the heart of Mondsee.
The rooms are very spacious, and the breakfast is generous, varied, and of good quality.
The staff is also very friendly and helpful.
However, I was quite disappointed with the overall comfort.
The “double beds” are actually two single mattresses pushed together, which leaves an uncomfortable gap in the middle — I slept very poorly.
There are no blackout curtains, only blinds that let in a lot of light, so by 6 a.m., the room is already bright. ( during summer )
The soundproofing is terrible — you can hear everything happening in the hallways: doors slamming, people talking, children running, suitcases rolling on the tiled floors.
The courtyard echoes a lot, making evenings noisy from the restaurant and the church bell rings every hour — even during the night — and 1 gong every 15 minutes as well.
As for the spa, it was far from relaxing: kids were playing, shouting, jumping into the pool with inflatable toys.
The “adults only” area is right next to it, so it’s not peaceful either.
Despite the charm and good location, I wouldn’t return.
