We found the entrance to the restaurant by chance during an evening walk. Very nice, romantic ambiance. The waiters are friendly, helpful and fast. The dinner was delicious. An authentic Austrian restaurant, the garden is full of trees and greenery.

We ate Zwiebelrostbraten and well it didn't hold up. The sauce was not thick enough, nor that much tasty. The meat was gristly, the potatos were neither chrispy nor soft. All in all not the worst meal but defenetly underperformed one. The reason why the rating is 3 and not lover is that the waiters were nice, the meal came quickly and the ambient is really nice as you can see on the picture.

Situated just by Margaretenstrasse and Schlossgasse, the inner yard at Schlossquadrat offers a lovely beer garden experience where you can enjoy some excellent Viennese and Austrian specialties alongside with a “Das Margaretner” local beer. The place is caller “Silberwirt”.

Very traditional Austrian food, expect hearty food. That means lot's of fried dishes even the vegetarian dishes. I had a vegetarian dish which unfortunately didn't agree with me, because I get heartburn when I eat hearty meals. The others were very happy with their food. A little tip: Don't forget to reserve a table beforehand, especially if you want to sit in the nice outside dining area when the weather is nice.

We came here not long ago and we loved it. We only had to wait a small time to be seated. The atmosphere is just spectacular. Food was outstanding and the staff were equally wonderful. Plus, the presentation of the dishes is so pretty and elegant. They have generous portions too. An excellent value for money. Would highly recommend!

I booked a small apartment there for a short vacation on Whitsunday in Vienna and it had a small kitchen with a fridge, a washing machine and a microwave in the basement as well as a bathroom. On the first floor was the sleeping room with cupboards. It was very clean and there were also dishes you could use. In front of it was a nice bar called Cuadro with friendly personnel. For breakfast you could either get some at the bar or at bakery nearby. There are also several restaurants in this Schlossquadrat area where you could even use the same Wifi.

If you want to eat in an authentic place in Vienna, than this is it. Not a mainstream tourist spot. The food is great. Service is top notch.

Yelp
Hey the Schlossquadrat is an awesome corner of Vienna. And luckily for me, it's my corner of Vienna. This 300 year old complex has survived though the centuries to continue to offer pleasure today. Empress Maria Theresa once tried to start a silk business here by planting mulberry trees. She would have fared better had she started some cool restaurants and pubs. There is no doubt a lot of people have trouble finding the different entryways to the the Schlossquadrat and its inner courtyards transformed into charming and secluded Schanigartens. Oh well, that's too bad - it just gives the local residents who heavily patronize these culinary establishments more chances for a good table. All the restaurants are worthwhile and all have a Schanigarten ... but the star eating place is Silberwirt. It's truly one of Vienna's finest restaurants with its tasty modern tweaks to some of Vienna's and Austria's classic recipes. The most utilized dining & drinking spot is the ever-cool Cuadro. After a long night out on the town, sleeping in and then going for breakfast at Cuadro in the mid-afternoon is the perfect way to face a new day! I have recommended to or taken dozens of people to Schlossquadrat. Not one of them has ever been disappointed. It's a Viennese treasure ... or more accurately a hard-to-find hidden quarter of Viennese history replete with great food and drink!
