The Schönbrunn Zoo is one of the best zoos I’ve ever visited! It’s very well organized, clean, and easy to walk around. There’s a huge variety of animals, from giant pandas and polar bears to elephants and tigers. The enclosures are spacious and well maintained, and you can see that the animals are cared for. What makes it special is the atmosphere – it’s part of the Schönbrunn Palace grounds, so walking through the zoo feels like a mix of nature, history, and culture. There are plenty of places to rest, grab a snack, or enjoy a coffee while taking a break. Definitely a must-visit in Vienna – plan to spend at least half a day here to enjoy it fully!

We are very satisfied with our first visit to the zoo. There is a great variety of animals that could be seen there. Vienna zoo is known as one of the best in Europe and also worldwide and it is true. We had very good time and spent more than 5 hours walking around and exploring. It is a must visit if you plan a trip to Vienna!!!

I absolutely loved my visit to Schönbrunn Zoo! It’s beautifully maintained, with a wide variety of animals and plenty of space to explore. The trail takes around 3 to 4 hours, so I highly recommend bringing water, wearing comfortable clothes, and good walking shoes, especially since some paths are uphill. Highlights include the giant pandas, the tropical house, and the aquarium. It’s a perfect place for a day out, and being located next to Schönbrunn Palace makes it easy to combine both attractions. Highly recommended!

Schönbrunn Zoo, nestled within the magnificent grounds of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, truly stands out as a world-class experience. It's not just a zoo; it's a beautifully maintained haven where both animals and visitors can thrive. One of the most remarkable aspects of Schönbrunn Zoo is its exceptionally calm and well-organized atmosphere, even during peak times. Whether you visit on a busy holiday, a bustling weekend, or during the height of summer, the flow of visitors is managed so effectively that you never feel overwhelmed. This allows for a much more relaxed and enjoyable experience, giving you ample space to observe the animals without feeling rushed or crowded. The enclosures are consistently well-maintained, reflecting a deep commitment to animal welfare. It's evident that the animals are content and comfortable in their environments, which is a testament to the zoo's dedication to providing excellent living conditions. This attention to detail creates a positive and enriching experience for the animals, and consequently, for the visitors who can see happy, healthy creatures. For those looking to refuel, the food and drink options are plentiful and of good quality, with surprisingly reasonable prices that won't leave you shocked. You can find nice spots to grab a bite or a drink all throughout the zoo, ensuring convenience and variety during your visit. The variety of animals is truly amazing, offering a diverse collection from across the globe. From exotic species to beloved classics, there's something to fascinate every age group and interest. Beyond the animal residents, the zoo also boasts a lot of nice architecture throughout, adding to the aesthetic appeal and making your stroll through the grounds an even more delightful experience. In summary, Schönbrunn Zoo is a must-visit in Vienna. Its tranquil environment, superb animal care, excellent amenities, diverse animal collection, and beautiful architectural elements combine to create a truly memorable and highly recommended day out.

Had a great time at the zoo today. Very well laid out with a varied range of wildlife, birds, reptiles etc. it topped 32 degrees today. Drinking water was essential and the large number of water fountains very much appreciated.

We had a wonderful visit to the world’s oldest zoo! It’s surprisingly large—plan for around 3.5 to 4 hours to see everything. There’s a great variety of animals, and we especially loved seeing the pandas, polar bears, tigers, and elephants. A well-organized and enjoyable experience for all ages!

Schönbrunn Zoo is a fantastic place — one of the oldest in Europe and truly worth a visit. I really appreciated the clearly marked path that guides you through the zoo in about 2–3 hours. Just make sure to grab a map at the entrance, or you might get a bit lost. The zoo isn’t overwhelming in size, and beyond the fascinating animal exhibits, the architectural layout is also quite interesting. A highlight for me was the treetop walk, built around a former bomb crater from WWII. It’s now fully overgrown and serves as a peaceful space where you can observe local urban wildlife like birds and small mammals. Despite visiting on a hot weekend, it was still possible to avoid crowds and enjoy the visit comfortably. The penguins were a real show — especially since you can watch them walk and swim up close through glass walls. There are several species, from emperor penguins to smaller ones. The polar bear was also a standout — a rare sight in European zoos, and this one was especially active and engaging. There are lots of family-friendly attractions, like a ground-level tunnel to watch small mammals like ground squirrels from their eye level. We didn’t see many monkeys, but overall, the experience was great. Tickets are on the pricey side, but it’s worth spending a day here. You can bring your own food and enjoy a picnic at one of the tables, avoiding the expensive food stands. On hot days, it’s also good to know there are many water refill stations around. Highly recommended!
