Reid atmosphere and they have open fire at both ends. There is typical bar seating as well as more comfortable bench and chair seating around tables and a fireplace. We had the burger which was served a little less than medium, which was fine for me, but I'm surprised to find a place in Ireland that serves anything but well done. And the dirty fries were outstanding. The Guinness was also very good.

The food here is consistently good, but service was very slow. Our drinks were empty a few times during service and we had to wait a long time for the waitress to appear again. We ordered dessert and drinks that didn't arrive and we left. I still give it 4 stars because the food is good and the atmosphere is really cozy. Please improve on your service and I'd be happy to recommend the Schoolhouse

I hope to come back soon. The food was also outstanding. Our night was excellent, from Lucas, who took great care of us, to Joao’s service at the bar, who made the best whiskey sour I’ve ever had. I visited the restaurant and it was amazing, I highly recommend it.

We’ve stayed at The Schoolhouse frequently when visiting Ireland, and it continues to impress. It’s very convenient to reach and offers private parking for residents, spaces are limited, but it’s a great perk. The hotel itself is truly unique: a beautifully restored schoolhouse steeped in history, something you can feel in the very walls. The atmosphere is warm and cosy, with stunning interiors that preserve many of the building’s original features.||We always receive a warm welcome at reception, and the location is fantastic, just a short walk to Merrion Square. Evening strolls along the Royal Canal across the road are also lovely. It’s an ideal base for attending nearby concert venues.||Food in the restaurant is excellent, and breakfast is consistently great. We’ve enjoyed many cosy, firelit evenings in the bar. The only downside is that some staff in the bar and restaurant can occasionally seem a little disinterested. During winter stays, we’ve also had minor issues with the in-room heating, though reception provided additional mobile heaters and resolved it quickly.||Despite these small drawbacks, we’ve stayed here more than ten times, and it keeps drawing us back. The Schoolhouse is a truly unique and charming place to stay in Dublin.

Few days ago I visited the restaurant and had an excellent experience from start to finish. I sat at the bar and was very well taken care of by the entire team, who were attentive, friendly, and professional. I would especially like to highlight the bartenders João and Erick, who were outstanding. They were incredibly polite and knowledgeable, and they recommended amazing drinks that truly elevated my experience. Without a doubt, this is a place I will return to and highly recommend to anyone looking for great service, a pleasant atmosphere, and exceptional drinks.

I had a great time at the restaurant. João at the bar did an amazing job, the drinks were excellent. Germano was also very friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The food was great, and I’d definitely come back.

Such a beautiful comfortable room. We really loved this hotel, within walking distance to the Epic Museum and the shopping streets, but far enough off to be quiet and calm. Dinner there was really good. We sat next to the fireplace in the barrel ceiling dining room. The pork chop dish was fabulous.

We celebrated our wedding here and couldn’t have chosen a better spot—delicious food, excellent service, and wonderful memories. The Schoolhouse Restaurant & Gastrobar offers tasty meals with generous portions at fair prices. The cozy atmosphere in historic building makes visit enjoyable, and the friendly team always makes you feel like at home. Their event manager is the best! She has a great approach and always try to make your celebration day truly special. Highly recommended!
