Pleasantly surprised as station hotels are often in need of an update. Great breakfast & facilities. I would not hesitate in rebooking when next in Basle. Convenient for station & tram network

The service is exceptional all around. The breakfast is varied and delicious, and we loved the coffee selections. But, the standard room is small, and the towels are scratchy. They are big, but they are not fluffy. The in room coffee was instant, with powdered creamer and two old and dated cups. I think that Schweizerhof Basel can and should do better than that. People like a good cup of coffee available anytime they wish.|As to the rooms- we stayed here many years ago and either got upgraded or choose a larger room, so we were disappointed with the small room this time. Also, there was a fairly large tour group that checked in on our first night, and all the luggage sitting around the lobby, for many hours, looked a bit downmarket.|The location, however, is fantastic, and I can’t compliment the staff enough. The staff is the best!

Excellent location, just opposite the train station. Breakfast was such a lovely spread of cut fruits, breads, hot food etc loved my stay after a week touring Switzerland.

Such a nice hotel! They upgrade us to ambient double room and it was very big, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our view was memorable. Staff was friendly. They offer free transportation cards. This hotel has a nostalgic feeling but also very modern.

The hotel is across the street from the train station and main transit systems. Good place to explore the area. The hotel has a bar and restaurant. Don't expect bartenders to make cocktails. People at the front desk were very helpful with our stay and directions.

Hotel is superb, so close to the station and an easy walk into the centre of Basel.|Staff are super friendly and polite, rooms are generous, well laid out and very clean.|Has a wonderful little bar and terrace where you can watch the world go by.|Great self service breakfast with hot and cold options.|Will be staying here again !

My wife and I stayed six nights here and loved the hotel for its cleanliness, excellent staff and location. It is one of the cleanest hotels that I have stayed in the past few years and it is very up to date and modern. The front desk staff all spoke English well and were very helpful in meeting our needs. ||The location can’t be beat. It is within 200 yards of the train station and a major tram stop is right out the front door. All guests ride trams for free in Basel. Even though it was located in a high traffic area of people coming and going in the train station and taking the trams, the hotel itself was very quiet. We never heard the outside from our room. We came to visit the Christmas markets in Switzerland and France. We not only saw the ones in Basil but also in Strasbourg, France and Lucerne, Switzerland.||Overall, I highly recommend this hotel because we were able to relax completely and were able to travel easily within Basil and to other cites by train.

Hotel is good, breakfast is unbelievable. Two days in a row without coffee! Nobody is asking, first day it was even a challenge to find a free seat. Very unpleasant start into the day. Did one ask during checkout how it was? Nope
