Scilly Spirit

This was such an incredible experience that we had heard about from our parents. Art was lovely and so knowledgable. It was so much fun and we learnt so much. One of the highlights of our holiday and worth the years of waiting to do this! Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone! Our friends and family have so enjoyed hearing our story of this experience!!

My friend and I attended the Scilly Gin School! A fantastic experience. Art and his wife have put their heart and soul into this business and boy has it paid off!! The story behind this gin is as fantastic as the gin itself and it has been rewarded with several awards.

We attended the fantastic gin school. A very comprehensive experience and tour. You start by Art (the owner) explaining the roles of botanicals and the process of distilling. You then create your own gin from a wide selection of botanicals and use your very own still. Art then provides you with a double Island G and T and takes you through the tasting notes. Art then leads you out the back and shows you where the magic happens with their own distilling process and their history. Once your gin is distilled, you bottle up, label it and finish with a G and T of your very own making. The whole experience is great and worth every penny.

I was bought a gin school session for a present last year, to use on our holiday August 2023. I attended with my daughter, and we were warmly welcomed by Art, the owner of the distillery. The three hour session flew by, and we learned so much about the distillery process whilst creating our very own gin. Art and his wife are clearly very passionate about their business, and have succeeded in creating four beautiful gins, with their first ever whisky that is maturing in a barrel, ready for 2024. Our session cumulated in bottling our gin, and sampling what was left over. I have to say, me and my daughter were delighted with the taste, and can order further bottles of our unique recipe in future. I would wholeheartedly recommend the gin school. To learn about the history of Scilly and the personal stories that have shaped the botanics used (a nod to 102 year old grandma) were a lovely touch. And well done to Art's wife, for having the 'crazy idea' of starting her own distillery 😊

A very enjoyable gin school experience expertly delivered by Art. We were given instructions and pointers for making our own gin. There are a wide range of botanics available to choose from to make your own gin truly original. Of course, sampling the gin was very pleasurable too.

Scilly Spirit Distillery ran by Art and Hillary is an excellent couple paired with an amazing distillery, we made our own gin with an array of information about the islands and how the gin was originated. Also paired with tasting the gin too! I would definitely recommend coming here if you like your gins and if you want to make your own! Thank you Art for making this experience amazing and good fun, hope to be back soon!

As soon as we entered the Scilly Spirit Distillery in Old Town, we were given a very warm welcome by Hils. We had a lovely chat, and she told us all about their various products and backgrounds, and took time to explain the processes involved as well - it was absolutely fascinating! Art was busy behind the scenes, but gave us a friendly wave and hello and a quick chat about what he was working on. They make a great team and clearly love what they do, taking care and pride in every step of production and sales, and value their customers. It was a pleasure to meet them, and we were so grateful to Hils for her time, and it goes without saying that we love Scilly Spirit! Keep up the great work, and we look forward to seeing you again! 💙

Gin school was an enjoyable and extremely interesting time enhanced by the experience of my wife and I being guided by Art to produce our own, individualised gin. The history of the development of Scilly Spirit Distillery was inspirational. Thoroughly recommended.
