"At first glance, this ice cream shop run out of a camper van seems to be merely a charming stop in the woods of Mount Airy. But those who venture farther into the forest behind the van will find a delightful surprise: a sculpture garden. The forest path is lined with metal artwork created by Chazz Elstone, the shop’s owner and an artist who’s had pieces displayed in downtown Mount Airy. This secluded site features a range of sculptures, including a Biblically-themed section showcasing a joyously dancing King David and a “forest chapel” with a pulpit and cross. There’s also a treehouse on the path, where guests can leave Post-It notes offering encouraging thoughts on the windows and walls. Order an ice-cream cone and savor your treat as you wander through this unique gallery in a serene natural setting. I wish I could give way more stars!!! Kayla was amazing and the options are delicious and never ending!! This is a must stop for anyone passing through!! I got the smokey mountain chocolate on waffle cone and husband got a strawberry smoothie!! Huge fans!!!!

A fantastic spot for ice cream! 🍦❄️ Not only do they have plenty of parking spaces 🚗🅿️, but there are also cozy seats where you can relax and enjoy your ice cream, especially on a hot summer day after a long hike 🥾☀️. We happened to pass by and noticed a bunch of cars parked near this store. Our curiosity got the best of us, and we quickly turned around to treat ourselves to some ice cream. 🍦🚗 We tried three flavors: strawberry, peach, and pistachio. 🍓🍑🥜 While the ice cream wasn’t the best we’ve ever had, it was still quite tasty and refreshing. 😋 The pistachio flavor, however, leave me with a ❓❓❓How can it be such a neon green color? 🤔 It definitely made us wonder. But the peach and strawberry flavors were delightful! 🍑🍓 You could even find actual pieces of strawberry and peach inside, which added a nice touch. 🍓🍑 Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a great way to cool down. If you’re in the area and craving some ice cream, it’s worth a visit! 🍦🌞

There are so many options here, I actually had a hard time narrowing it down because they all sounded so good. Went with the ice cream sandwich(pick your cookie and ice cream) and it was phenomenal. 10/10 guys

If you do not stop in for a visit, you are missing out on some amazing ice cream!! The staff is over the top with great personalities. The ice cream is full of flavor and they have a ton of flavors to choose from! I will definitely be back for more!!

great little place for ice cream, fair prices and they have a great selection of things to choose from. The banana split was phenomenal! Only downside is, it's outside seating only, it's a nice little area but when it's really hot it can be better to just eat in the car lol

Amazing! Hands down the best ice cream spot for families and dates and anything in between. Highly recommend the milkshakes and the banana nut bread sundae! My go to place when I’m craving a sweet treat.

Earlier this year we spotted this place but there were sooo many people so we passed it by. This go around there were a few cars and so glad we did. A perfect place to stop after a nice bike ride on the New River Trail. So much to choose from. Great price, Nice Serving size and some good ice cream!

If I could give them more stars, I would! The prices were very reasonable, their flavors are unique and the location is adorable! They have an ice cream flight so you can try 4 different flavors at once. Genius! They also have a sculpture trail in the woods to walk through and see metal art. A very unique experience you won't find anywhere else.

Wow!! This ice cream place gets a lot of business in the summer time. The lines are so long, sometimes you have to wait about 30 minutes just to order your ice cream. BUT, it's so worth the wait.! They have tables and chairs you can sit and wait for your orders. And a little path that you can walk down to look around. The place this really cute and clean area. This summer if you have time, you should stop by and try their ice cream. They have all different kinds of yummies!!! Enjoy!!

This is honestly one of the neatest places!! I'm so glad we went to check it out. We got milkshakes and they are super good. The young girls who were working were friendly, smiling and helpful. We really enjoyed sitting outside and the chairs were very unique. Definitely wanna go back and try more things.

Just found this jewel today and boy is it a fun and friendly place! We had wonderful sundaes and great conversation with a family we met! Creative fun from a creative family in an easy access place. Tip: they have extra parking down the hill.

We love stopping here for ice cream on our way to Virginia. Such a fun little ice cream shop! They have some neat outdoor seating areas when the weather is nice. Large menu with lots of options. This last visit I got an affogato with the Tennessee Toffee ice cream. Really liked that ice cream flavor. My husband got the unicorn sundae. I tried it and it was very sweet. I personally would not order that one again but it is cute and colorful. Kids would love it, although you need to be careful with it- the unicorn horn candy is made on a toothpick. Location is off 89 in Mt. Airy, not far from Round Peak Vineyards.

This place is a great stop if you are traveling I77 and run through Mt. Airy. It isn't far off the highway but feels like you are out in the country. The seating and vibe is very eclectic but the ice cream is great. Lots of great flavors. I had the black walnut which is unique and very good if you like black walnuts. If you have ever been to hillbilly hotdogs in WV, this reminds me somewhat of it but with ice cream. Take a break from driving and visit this ice joint. You won't be disappointed!

This quaint roadside ice cream stand is a must visit and a fun day trip for anyone in the Piedmont Triad. We frequent this place when taking our Boy Scouts to Camp Raven Knob. There's an artsy vibe to the property with some fun sculptures and art to look at and some fun trails to hike. There's nowhere to eat inside as it's a little trailer. But they have some great sundaes and a few unique flavors. We tried the Orange Pineapple in a waffle cone which was very refreshing on a hot day. We also got the Nutter Waffle Sundae that was loaded with waffle cone pieces, caramel, salted nuts and whipped cream. The salted nuts make this sundae an absolute hit with the sweet and salty contrast. Great place, good vibes! Go there, you deserve great things in life.

I happened upon Scoops during my stay in Mt Airy on a trip south for a friends wedding. What an unexpected treat this turned out to be, definitely not to be missed if you are in the area! I can't wait to stop by again to see what has been added to the sculpture garden. This was a serene and reflective evening that I was in need of! Loved the sense of humor with the "Spin" bikes and the "And the Rooster Crowed"!

Scoops is a really good surprise treat when you're about to get on the highway. We got a birthday cake sundae and a blue ridge fudge and peanut butter milkshake. The service was quick and the ice cream was yummy. They had a lot of options. Prices were reasonable. They had a lot of nice places to sit in the shade.

Well we just had the chance to visit this place . I got the strawberry waffle cone, Greg got peanut butter waffle and Kristin got strawberry cheesecake waffle cone. It was all soooo good. Large portions too. Parking is a little limited but it's worth waiting til someone leaves if it's full. Walking trails and dog walking area too. Close to I-77 at hey 89. Follow the signs towards Galax,Va and it's on the left !!!

Very good ice cream and shakes. Hand scooped and blended shakes so it takes a while for you to get your order, but has great taste Had live blues playing when we were there on a Thursday. Lots of sculptures to look at as you enjoy the ice cream.

No better place to go on a hot day! Or any day! Excellent service, great ice cream...there is a wide variety of flavors to choose from and as an added bonus you get to walk through the place and see all of the neat metal art they have done. It's just an all round great place to take that date or your kids.

Great local dive! Was returning from LAX in Concord and decided to try it. Parking can be tricky when it is crowded. They do NOT take debit/credit cards. Milkshakes and ice cream was great. Neat sculptures to view while you eat/wait.

Today I had the best thing I have ever eaten. I you ever get the opportunity you must try the carrot cake sundae. It was the first time I had tried this combination and I thought I will either love this or hate it. Now I cannot wait to go get another one. The cake would have been delicious by itself. Whoever came up with this sundae is a Genius.
