Scooteroma Tours - Private Vespa & Scooter tours of Rome

I wasn't sure what to expect and this was one of the highlights of my trip. The sidecar tour not only takes you to points of interest, it also educates you. Luca is an awesome narrator who gives you very good descriptions and backgrounds on these points. For me, experiencing the Rome traffic on a Vespa added a layer of excitement as well. The drivers were all friendly and helpful when having sound or helmet issues. This was a birthday gift and once the tour operators found out, they made sure to make it feel like a birthday which speaks to their character. We did stop for pizza, and Luca gave you a little bit of background on the dish itself. The restaurant just felt historic with the high ceiling. I would absolutely recommend as this is one of the most unique tours I've experienced anywhere. Lastly, shout out to Marco for teaching me more about Roma football club. If you are on the fence on the tour, absolutely do it, you will not regret it.

Can’t recommend this highly enough even if you have been to Rome a few times, you will discover more hidden secrets of Rome. Our stop at the Cheese place in the man made hill of Terracotta was a highlight, and our guides were fabulous.

Easily the highlight of my trip to Rome, and a highlight of my travels as a whole. Marco was my guide and it happened to be a private tour with no other riders. I opted to drive my own scooter, so I met Marco at the scooter rental shop before taking off on the tour. I was on the Classic Tour so we went and saw several landmarks while stopping occasionally to learn about the history. Marco is extremely knowledgeable and taught me many unique things about the city. He made me feel comfortable while driving, and was always willing to take photos. I didn’t have prior experience driving in Rome - only experience on a Vespa, but following Marco made it super easy to navigate the streets. We stopped for some juice in a nice neighborhood, where he also drew up a map and gave me several suggestions for restaurants and places to eat during the rest of my time in Rome. I really would like to thank Marco again for a wonderful time. It truly felt like I was on a ride with a friend just casually exploring the city.

The BEST way to see Rome. Taken to places off the usual tourist trail, knowledgeable and excellent drivers. Andy and Omar were terrific and our pit stop for the wine and cheese were delicious. We learned so much about your beautiful city, thank you.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our Scooteroma Tour!!! Marco and Jordan were our vespa tour guides for the 3hour Double Street Art Tour. They were both excellent Vespa navigators (and drivers) and also very knowledgeable of the art and history of Rome. They also provided really great bar, gelato, and dining recommendations. Highly recommend!!! Captured some really amazing street art and also felt very safe during the ride. When booking, I communicated with both Annie and Giovanni. Giovanni was very proactive - notified me of my payment options and ensured he communicated the names of the Vespa tour guide 24hrs+ prior to pick up. I also appreciated that Scooteroma picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off at our next itinerary stop, which was the Vatican Museum.

My best friend and I were in Rome last month and went on the Twilight Vespa Tour and wow, what an incredible experience! It was our first night in Rome, and our guides Marco and Andi set the bar really, really high for the rest of our trip. They showed us many places that we never would have found on our own - beautiful landmarks and neighborhoods - and told us great stories about what we were seeing. We had such a great time that we actually tried to fit in another one of their tours, but couldn’t make it work with our schedule. It was Really fun touring Rome with Giacomo and Enrico on the vespas. We were able to get to see neighborhoods not as easily accessed, except by train or foot and rode the Appian Way a bit, learning ancient history along the way. It felt safe and comfortable and fortunately the Roman sun was shining throughout!

We loved scooteroma. The planning was so easy and the tour guides were all extremely fantastic!! Four of us did a 3 hour tour and we saw what felt like the whole of Rome. We thought we may want to drive but it's actually so fun to ride behind a local and hear them talk about a city they love so so so much. This was my absolute favorite thing to do in Rome and a memory I will treasure forever. The fellas were all so lovely and kind! I could not recommend this business more!

We are a family of 5 (kids age 20,18,16) and LOVED every minute of this tour! We had 5 drivers (Marco, Antonio, Luca, Gianmarco, Fabrizio) who went above and beyond in explaining the history of the city and showed us incredible places that we would have not found otherwise! Some of the places were the old city gates, the Circus Maximus & the breathtaking views from the Piazza Garibaldi..plus many more!!! It was a mix of seeing the important sites in Rome & glimpses of everyday life in Rome! I can't emphasize enough how much this tour made our experience in Rome memorable! I would highly, highly recommend this tour! When we come back to Rome we will be booking with Scooteroma again

One of our favorite afternoons in Rome was on the Ape Calessino tour. Everything from booking to the very last minute of our trip, was seamless with Scooteroma. Giovanni was extremely helpful getting our reservation all confirmed and our tour guide, Marco, was the best. Marco taught us so much about the city as we cruised along and made sure to stop and take photos of us along the way, which was very kind. I'd definitely recommend to any of our friends and make sure to request Marco!

The experience was perfect from start to finish! The tour was amazing. We had so much fun and are so happy we got to see Rome this way. Alessio And Enrico were fantastic!!! We had a very boring 4 hr Classic tour on a Sunday afternoon with Ricky and Lorenzo. It was definitely not the picture-perfect Roman holiday tour we were expecting for 400 euros and 4% credit card fee!! Our tour included lengthy stops inside Ricky's favorite church, another lengthy stop at ancient Roman thermal springs where we got eaten alive by mosquitos and attacked by flies, and a drive through Ricky's childhood neighborhood where we stopped for a gelato in a suburban (boring) area. We tried to provide feedback halfway through our tour and told Ricky we wanted to go to places with nice views. He assured us that would come later in our tour but in viewing pics posted by others, it's clear we didn't make the same stops. Very disappointed that we paid so much money for a dud of a tour. Ok, so we were the center of attention everywhere we went! The Ape Callisinos scooters caught everyone's eye. You have to watch out for people trying to rent your ride when you stop at sites. A very cool way to see Rome....from the eyes of a native. Best tips for restaurants and shopping. Avoid the crowds and lines and just see Rome. Ok, the helmets are annoying but it's the law or insurance issue. Also learned that Roman drivers are on par if not more aggressive than NY or LA drivers. The hours went too fast. Great History lesson for the kids. Would like to take night tour next.

Scooteroma provide us the PERFECT way to begin our Roman holiday. I would recommend this organizaiton to anyone, it was fun, informative and felt very safe! Our guides provided a well paced tour of all the highlights across Rome, giving us time at each site to take pictures, ask questions, and explore. BEST SCOOTER TOUR EVER!!! We heard about Annie & her company from a friend of ours. Scooteroma came highly recommended across the board...and they exceeded every expectation!!! Simone & Ricardo (sorry, I hope I spelled that correctly) were a dream as our tour guides! We couldn't have asked for a better experience in Rome. We saved our scooter tour for our last full day in Italy (best idea we had all month lol). As tourists, you've likely already checked off all the big "to-do's" on your list by day 4. The tour showed us the Rome we HADN'T yet seen--it was so refreshing & beautiful! Being able to appreciate the true city; sans 500-person Colosseum lines, overwhelming human traffic in front of the Trevi Fountain & the Pantheon, etc. was PRICELESS!! Scooteroma was SUPERB! Our Vespa private tour was probably the highlight of our two week Italian vacation so I highly recommend it. Scooteroma even helped us with a private tour of Pompeii! Both our guides were professional and very knowledgeable so you are in good hands.

You HAVE to do this tour!! We did the "classic" vespa tour. It was basically like hanging out with your really smart Italian friend. This is the best way to see all of Rome, especially if you're only there for a few days like we were. Our tour guide (Alessio) was awesome. We met him at the Vespa rental shop (Bruno was so nice too!) and it was a super easy process. Alessio also provided us with a map of recommendations for restaurants, bars, etc.

When we booked our scooter tour in Rome we were a little unsure if we would enjoy this experience or not. After the scooter tour we were SO glad we did it because we had a great time on our tour! We did the Street Art Vespa Tour with Michele "Mike" as our tour guide and it was so fun. Cruising around Rome on the Vespa and seeing some beautiful street art was the highlight of our trip to Rome. We are already discussing when we should go back to Rome to take another Scooteroma tour!

Mike was SUPER awesome as a tour guide. We chose the Scooteroma Shuffle for our tour and it was everything we wanted it to be. We didn't die driving through Rome, thankfully. Mike not only showed us interesting street art and the history behind the art. He also took us to a street food place that was delicious and later a gelato place that will always have a special place in my heart. Mike offered to take photos of us, which was AWESOME, since selfies are only so cool. Finally, Mike gave us a map that listed all the places we went with names, AND he made suggestions for places that were in the area of our AirBnB. PS. I think we'd be besties with Mike if we lived in Rome!

This was hands-down the best decision I made about our trip to Italy! Annie and Giovanni were terrific. Giovanni was my contact before our trip - he was responsive, helpful, and patient. Annie and Cristiano were our two drivers and they were AMAZING. I brought my 14-year old daughter to Italy last month and this was her favorite part of our trip (and we did a lot of cool stuff). I like to know the lay-of-the-land when I visit a new place and this was the perfect way to see the city -- an up close, personal, guided tour on our first afternoon. My daughter and I both felt completely safe on the backs of their Vespas, scooting along the streets past incredible sites that we were going to see later that week. Annie + Cristiano made it very personalized, taking us to see specific places that were interesting / important to us (e.g. street art, Jewish Ghetto), in addition to all the main tourist sites (e.g. Coloseo). We stopped every 15 mins or so to take a break and hear all about the area around us. My biggest concern was how the rest of our trip would possibly compare to this fantastic experience on the very first afternoon we were there. I have to add that Annie was a wonderful resource -- recommending other places for us to see during the rest of our stay, restaurants to go to, the best gelato places, neighborhoods to visit. She and Cristiano actually marked up our map of Rome with all of their ideas and suggestions, tailoring it to what they knew about us and our interests. Later on, we visited all the main sites they'd shown us (e.g. Vatican, Colloseum, Roman Forum, etc.) and in every tour group when we heard about certain things, we thought, "Oh yeah - we saw that!" or "Right - we were there and heard all about that". What we'd learned from Annie + Cristiano was consistently more in-depth than what we heard from the guides INSIDE the actual sites we'd driven past. I recommended Scooterama to everyone we met. Best best money I've ever spent on a trip and they deserved every penny.

This tour was fabulous!!! Our tour guides Dominico (Mimmo), Donato, and Fabrizio were friendly, professional and most of all fun!!! They were knowledgable about history and took us to places we would not have seen if we had not booked this tour!! I have been to Rome twice before, and this was one of the most fun tours I have ever been on!! I am so glad my friend booked this tour! I highly recommend it!! You will not be disappointed!!! I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive about riding around through the bustling city of Rome with nothing but air between our bodies and the pavement, but as soon as I hopped on the back of Annie's Vespa my anxiety melted away, and I was completely immersed in the experience. And what a liberating and exhilarating experience it was! Annie and Michele's friendly and fun manner combined with the fascinating history they shared with us was more than we could have imagined. Although I am sure we would have enjoyed taking a walking tour of some of the street art in Rome on our own like we had planned, my husband happened upon the Scooteroma website, and we are so fortunate that he did. With the tour we were able to understand some of the meaning behind each piece and learn a bit about the history where each was located. And we also had the opportunity to see works we would have never found on our own. It was a really rich adventure all the way around. Annie and Michele also gave us interesting information about the different neighborhoods in the city as well as excellent restaurant recommendations. We tried 4 of their dining suggestions actually, and each was outstanding. We look forward to trying another Scooteroma tour the next time we are in Rome!

My family and I had a wonderful time seeing Rome by Vespa with the Scooteroma team. Each driver was excellent - knowledgeable and safe. It was so much fun to discuss the tour at the end of the day and to learn about all the different conversations and view points that we experienced. Even my dad, who is a tough cookie, had an excellent time. Our only regret was that we did not also book a food tour. We will, without hesitation, refer this company and their guides to any friends or family members that visit Rome. 10/10 recommend. This was our highlight while in Rome.

This was by far the favorite part of our first visit to Roma! My daughter and I were thrilled with the experience! Our foodie tour guides, Ricardo and Jacopo were excellent at maneuvering us safely through the exciting Rome traffic. We always felt safe and secure and were never without information about what we were seeing. I was not expecting so much history to be shared on our tour. Jacopo asked us what we liked and then quickly customized a tour to fit our tastes. We ate great food that we would have never discovered on our own, visited a cat haven in the middle of the city (where it is thought that Julius Caesar was killed!), and had a personal history lesson at the ancient Roman baths. The tour went by far too quickly! I highly recommend Scooteroma to you!

A-mazing!! So amazing we are planning another tour. Literally this experience was the highlight of our European vacation- our kids can't stop talking about their Vespa tour of Rome. Our tour guides were incredible and with a group of nine they planned our 2 hour custom excursion perfectly - we saw the must see destinations and experienced local eats which were delicious!!! Highly recommend, a MUST when you are in Rome.

Fabrizio, Duccio, Marco, and Emanuele showed us a great time in Rome and were an awesome crew to hang out with. We saw cool parts of the city, had delicious coffee and gelato, great conversation, and were set up with lunch reservations and recommendations for a ton of other good restaurants. It was one of the best parts of a two week/four-country trip!

We just came home from 16 days in Europe. We visited London, Paris, Rome and the Amalfi Coast. One of the very best things we did was take the Scooteroma tour in Rome. When I found that Scooteroma was on Yelp, I jumped at the chance to write a review! What an awesome company! We visited Italy last summer and Rome was our first stop! We arrived at our hotel and had just enough time to acclimate and return to the lobby to wait for our drivers to pick us up! What a perfect introduction to Rome! We started out with a quick safety lesson and off we went! Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable and obviously LOVED their city. The stops and walk-abouts were terrific (unexpected!) and we learned so much in so little time. Riding on the back and being so close to Roman history was amazing. There was a quick stop for espresso and pastries and then we continued on our adventure! Always happy to chat and give recommendations, our two guides were the best! What an incredible introduction to Rome!

The Scooteroma tour was the hi-light of our trip, and a simply "must do" if your tour plans include Rome. Great communication from Scooteroma, right-on-time to the hotel, quick introductions and you're off...to places that most tourists NEVER get to see! Forget about crowds or a hundred stores all selling the same things. Instead, the drivers give you an historical and well-paced glimpse of this beautiful city, some inside scoop on the history of its creation, and in-depth lessons on who created it throughout the years. The operators will ask you what you want to see when they arrive, but I suggest you allow them to use their expertise and take you without an agenda. They'll not let you down...one of our stops was to the Embassy of Spain to view the mock-up of the Vatican's dome, along with other works by artists in residence...who gets to do things like THAT?! Well, you do if you allow them to show you around using their vast knowledge of the city. I also loved that they were so flexible, as one stop I wanted to make was to Fincato (Rome's best stop for Cuban cigars). Jacopo texted a cigar-loving friend to confirm they were reliable, and next thing you know, we were there. In all, the people at Scooteroma are friendly, reliable, professional and fun. Pro-tip: Make sure you GoPro your ride. The intricate "dance" of getting around Rome is a memory in and of itself! Grazie, Scooteroma...ciao and cincin!

My boyfriend and I had the best time ever on our sunset scooter tour! Michele our guide was amazing and took us to some really off the typical tourist guide places. He made the tour really special for us. Highly recommend!!

This was the perfect way to get to know Rome! It was interesting and fun. The tour guide was knowledgeable on any topic I asked about. He was personable and nice. We stopped for light bites, art, history, and anything I expressed interest in along the way. I would definitely do it again!

My husband and I honeymooned in Italy and this was our favorite thing we did! Annie, Jacopo & Duccio were incredible guides who showed us a part of Rome few tourists ever see as well as the more traditional attractions in an adventurous and informative tour. During the intermission we had an amazing chance to chat with our guides about Rome's current events and culture while enjoying a cocktail. I can't recommend this experience enough!

I took the classic 4 hour tour in June 2018 with my niece and we had a BLAST! I booked an afternoon tour for the day of our arrival and it could not have been better. Our drivers Riccardo and Donato couldn't have made us more comfortable, welcome or have been more knowledgeable about their city. We zipped back and forth across the city, seeing places we would never have seen otherwise. Riccardo restaurant and gelato recommendations were spot on! There were so many I saved my map for the next trip! At first glance I thought it was pricey, but for the knowledge of the guides, the experience and fun it was totally worth the price. The feeling of the fresh breeze on your skin, your eyes closed as you scoot along in the beautiful, shady, wooded "secret" spots in Rome is like nothing else!

I cannot recommend this experience enough, truly. There is no better way to experience the Eternal City than on the back of a Vespa. I have been to Rome several times, but a tour with Scooteroma takes you to places, neighborhoods, and hidden gems you would NEVER see on your own. The street art tour was really interesting, steeped in Roman history and with a stop at a cool, coffee shop! Trust me, four hours on the back of Vespa with a kind and courteous driver will be the highlight of your trip. A must do adventure!! Fabrizio, Donato, and Simone are AMAZING tour guides, fantastic drivers, and go above and beyond to be sure everyone is having the time of their lives!! My Mom (72), myself (54) and my son (25) had an epic time-no exaggeration! We went to unique places all around Rome and during each stop, Fabrizio would give us interesting information/history. His knowledge is vast and he has excellent command of the English language. While we were scootering from one destination to the next, we would be given details by each of our drivers as to where we were. I can say without hesitation, it was a definite highlight of our trip! Thank you, Giovanni and Annie, for having a company that strives for excellence in all you do! It shows!! I will be booking another Scooteroma tour on my next trip to Rome!

Hands down the best thing I did in Rome!! When I was in Florence I wanted to ride a Vespa but didn't have the guts to brave the city streets on my own, so when I found a tour that lets you be the passenger, and enjoy Rome by Vespa without the stress of driving (and the driving is crazy), I jumped on it. So glad I did! I did the classic tour with Giovanni and it was amazing. They take you outside the city center so you see parts of Rome you wouldn't have otherwise (or you would have but with lots of walking), and there are several cute neighborhoods you go by. The entire tour is personal and tailored to you, so Giovanna also let me choose exactly what I wanted to see. We stopped for snacks when I was hungry, got off the bike and walked around a few places, and at the end he dropped me off wherever I wanted to go next. At first I was nervous because the price can be a little steep, but honestly it was worth every penny for the personal touch and experience -- we even went over our time a bit to make sure we saw everything I wanted to see. And Giovanni is awesome! I booked the tour the day before and he was so attentive over email, making sure he got me in last minute, and then on the tour (he owns the company and is a driver as well) he was super knowledgeable and gave me a lot of insider tips. And he's a good driver :) If there's one thing to splurge on in Rome, this would be it!!

A relaxed yet invigorating tour around Rome. In no other city tour have I encountered its degree of warmth and intimacy--imparted in no small part by sharing a Vespa with an Italian and talking directly into each other's ear. My guide Valerio expertly highlighted the historical and cultural landmarks that continue to punctuate daily Roman life to the thumping pulse of the scooter's engine. I was particularly impressed by Valerio's remarks on the liberation of Rome in 1944, recounted from the Vespa, perched on the side of the street, overlooking an intersection. He conjured most fully the feelings that had percolated between us during the hours before and that will linger long after the ride.

Such an exhilarating way to explore Rome! We had our Vespa tour with Alessandro, who was friendly, interesting and fun. Our tour was a "Classic and Foodie" experience and Alessandro took us to sites and local spots around town we would have never been to on our own! He made sure to have us in the shade on our pit stops on a very warm day and kept us entertained all through 4 hours! I would highly recommend Scooteroma if you're in Rome, especially if you're there for only a few days.

When you only have 24 hours in Rome, you should definitely do a twilight tour to see all the sights and get yourself adjusted to the time zone. We loved exploring Rome on a Vespa and enjoyed our tour guide and all the sights!

The BEST way to experience Rome! We explored different neighborhoods, stopped off at historical sights, and got up close and personal with some amazing street art. Annie was our guide and her knowledge of the city was incredible, not to mention that she is just a stellar human being! Her adventurous spirit and love for Rome really shines through. We ran into a few other Scooteroma tour guides along the way and all of them were friendly, knowledgeable, and generously offered recommendations and answered any questions we had. Annie even recommended some places to eat and shop during the rest of our visit (and they were all excellent)! If you're visiting Rome and want a fun and unique tour of the city, Scooteroma is the way to go!

WE saved the best for last on our recent trip to Rome. Michele was the perfect host and tour guide. His love and passion for his city came shining through and we felt so special to have this experience. His english was much better than our Italian. My husband is very much into motor sports. Whether it be a fast car or a motorcycle he wants to ride it! That being said, our first night in Rome he went online and researched scooter rentals/ tours. He quickly found Scooteroma Tours and I am so glad he did! From the super quick email responses re: booking to the seamless instructions on where to meet, this tour company is hands down a well oiled machine! Thank you so much for such an amazing tour of the city! Michele was absolutely fantastic! His knowledge of the culture and the city by far exceeds any other tour or map. We stopped at multiple coffee shops around town and some other significant sites of Rome that you wouldn't necessarily get to see on your run of the mill tours. Michele even sat down with us and recommended various parts of the city to visit and where the best food/ drink establishments were. Our 4 hour tour on a scooter all over the city of Rome was one of the top highlights of our trip! We highly recommend it!

Just finished my tour with Scooteroma and this was truly the highlight of my trip to Rome. Jacobo was my guide - he spoke perfect English and was a wealth of knowledge. I've been to Roma many times and this was by far (!!!) the best thing I've done there. Michele and Fabrizio were our guides and as soon as we jumped on the back of their Vespas, lessons on history, cultural integration, architectural ingenuity, childhood stories of friends since childhood, community dynamics and social "studies" began. And for me personally, Italian lessons as I tried to brush-up. We laughed and learned our way around Roma for four hours and we couldn't believe it was over...and didn't want it to be over! Michele and Fabrizio took such good care of us and Scooteroma will forever be a part of our Roman itinerary going forward. So, book those Vespas and experience Roma like true Romans!!

This was our first activity in Rome and was the best thing we could have done to become familiar with the city. Ricardo, Ricardo and Donnie were just amazing. We had an anxious teenager who was worried about riding a scooter in Rome, but from the very beginning Ricardo put her at ease. We scooted by most of the major sights of Rome while avoiding the crowds, occasionally stopping for a photo op. Timely breaks - coffee and pastries, hilltop photo ops and viewpoints, street art, gelato, local "water fountains," and part of the ancient wall of Rome - made the morning absolutely fly by. Each of our guides gave us different perspectives on what we saw while we were riding and it was fun to compare notes afterwards. Annie and Giovanni were fabulous and responsive in helping us plan our trip - not just this tour. This might have been the only time I've ever given feedback (gushing and positive) to the owner of a tour company when were still in the middle of a tour. This was truly an amazing experience and one that I would recommend to literally anyone - from children to teens to adults. A great way to see Rome while avoiding the crowds.
